Starting point is 00:00:28 Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Hello, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made. I'm Tyler, and as always, I'm your host. Thanks for listening in today. This episode will help you remain calm and collected when you inevitably go over a bump in the road of life. Let's go ahead and get started. What we'll do today, you can do any place, and any time.
Starting point is 00:01:11 It has the wonderful effect of calming and focusing you. So go ahead and make your way to a comfortable seat. If you're in bed still, then take a deep breath and on your exhale roll over, make your way out of bed, and just relax in a chair. There's no heavy lifting involved here. So you can just get up and find a cozy but upright seat. Today, all we're going to do is watch the back of our eyelids.
Starting point is 00:01:50 If you think about it, you spend a lot of time looking at them. And there's something comforting and steady about the back of your eyes. If you're ever feeling all worked up, you can just try this for a moment or two. Usually, when we're worked up, it's because our senses are overloaded. Closing your eyes mutes the loudest sense we have. which can quickly help you settle down. So hopefully, by now you're in a comfortable seat. You can take a deep inhale and squeeze your shoulders up to your ears.
Starting point is 00:02:33 And then when you exhale, let your shoulders drop. Just let them go completely. Again, inhale and squeeze your shoulders up. And then exhale and let them fall. Now you can go ahead and gently close your eyes and just settle into this position. Like you're sitting in a movie theater, watching everything behind your eyes play out on a movie screen. Let your face relax and your jaw.
Starting point is 00:03:24 And as you begin to settle in, just watch what plays on the back of your eyes. And let it come and go. Don't try to force it or anything like that. Instead, just try to be curious about what's playing out.
