Hi, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast, where morning people are made.
I'm Tyler, I'm your host, and I am so honored to have you here with me right now.
Sometimes we wake up on the wrong side of the bed, or maybe something goes wrong in our day.
This episode is designed to help you press the reset button.
so that you can still make the most of your day.
Now let's go ahead and get started.
Wherever you are, find a comfortable, seated position.
If you're still in bed, take a deep breath, roll over,
climb out of bed, and just relax in a chair.
You don't have to expend a lot of effort.
This meditation will be nice and easy.
Life rarely goes as we plan it.
Sometimes we miss our alarm, we wake up in a funk, or something happens during the day that throws us off.
But that doesn't mean the rest of the day needs to be a waste.
In my experience, the best thing to do in these situations is to just let your mind run for a little bit.
There are typically so many thoughts swirling around in these moments.
We need to allow that done.
to settle a bit.
And then we can regain our focus
and put our efforts toward making the remainder of the day
the best it can be.
Just because something has gone wrong
doesn't mean that you can't have a good day.
So make sure that you're comfortable
but sitting upright.
Take a deep breath in
and as you do, squeeze your shoulders
all the way up to your ears.
And when you exhale, just let your shoulders drop.
Just let them go.
go completely. Let's do that again and use this to release any tension that you're holding
onto. So inhale and squeeze your shoulders up and then as you exhale just let it all drop.
Let's just take a normal breath in this time and when you exhale gently close your eyes.
Breathe deeply but at your own pace now. Let the breaths be slow and let the exhale be a little bit
longer than the inhale. By breathing in this way, we calm our bodies, which in turn will calm our
minds and allow us to focus. And as you take these breaths, just rest your attention there
on the rise and fall of your chest.
