Now before our episode begins, here's a quick word from our sponsors.
Good morning, friend, and welcome to Wake Me Up.
As we face the opportunity of a brand new day,
let's embark on a journey of positivity and mindfulness
that will uplift not only our own spirits,
but also the whole world around us.
Optimism isn't just a fleeting emotion.
It's a driving force that propels us forward
in the face of challenges and adversity.
It's that unwavering belief
that no matter the trials and tribulations we encounter,
there exists a path forward to success
and a silver lining to every cloud.
Simply put, it's the fuel for our dreams
and the wings for our aspirations.
Before we get too far in,
let's take one moment right now
and use some mindfulness
to begin creating that positive, optimistic mindset.
You see, in the bustling symphony of Lowe,
life, we often overlook the small moments that sprinkle joy into our day.
So wherever you are, whatever you're doing, just pause and bring to mind a few of these small,
simple pleasures that you value in life.
Something like a smile from a friend, a refreshing drink on a hot day, or a few words
of appreciation.
Bring a few examples from your recent past to mind.
You have to savor these fleeting moments of beauty.
They don't last forever, but they do surround us all the time if we look for them.
Each smile exchanged, each act of kindness,
and each ray of sunshine holds within it the power to brighten your world and everyone else's.
So as you step into this new day, choose to be a source of gratitude,
of appreciation, positivity, and hope.
hope. Now, if you're in bed, I recommend using this moment to roll over and make your way up.
The people who are the most happy and the most fulfilled in life are the ones who get up every
day and choose to live life in their own unique way. So be one of those people. And as you go
about your morning routine, making your coffee, going for a walk, or having a stretch,
whatever you like to do, I'll circle back to how we can cultivate an optimistic mindset.
I will be the first to admit that it's easy to let the weight of the world
cast a shadow over our spirits.
But remember this.
Optimism is not about being naive to the things that are going wrong in the world.
It is a conscious choice to see the possibilities that exist beyond the challenges,
the strength that emerges from adversity and the resilience that turns setbacks
into stepping stones.
Neuroscientists have discovered the profound impact of optimism on our brains.
When we choose to perceive life through an optimistic lens,
one of gratitude, appreciation, and opportunity,
our brain releases chemicals that enhance our mood,
bolster our immune system, and even reduce stress.
We get a dopamine hit simply from being kind.
Research shows that just writing a short letter of appreciation to someone
can boost your mood for weeks.
Studies also show that optimism can lead to lower cortisol levels,
which is associated with stress reduction.
And who doesn't want to feel less stressed?
Psychology confirms that optimism is not just a fleeting emotion.
It's a powerful mindset that we can cultivate.
By focusing on the positive aspects of life,
the optimist will seek solutions rather than dwell,
on problems. They will explore creative remedies and persevere in the face of difficulties.
Best of all, optimism feels good because it ignites the spark of hope within us. It fills us with
enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. My friend, when we choose to see the world through a positive
lens, we are not denying the existence of challenges. We are acknowledged,
our ability to overcome them.
Think about it.
When we face adversity with optimism,
we become more resilient.
We become creative problem solvers.
And we inspire those around us.
Our attitude becomes infectious,
spreading like wildfire
and illuminating even the darkest corners.
Optimists are the designers
of all of the positive change
we see in the world.
So choose to be one of those people,
an optimist,
a creator of positive change.
Choose to craft a reality
where hope blooms and dreams flourish.
Choose to live not merely as a spectator of the day ahead,
but as an active participant in the Grand Symphony of Life.
Now, how can you choose to be this type of person today?
Well, you can start by giving
thanks when it's due, pointing out strengths and not just flaws, checking in on a friend who
seems to be down. And most of all, love and believe in yourself. You are smart, you are strong,
you are capable, and you deserve to hear that, especially from yourself. So speak highly of who you are.
Hold yourself to a higher standard.
See all that you can possibly accomplish.
Then go out today and do more than just believe it.
Be it.
We can't move things forward just by thinking.
So put positivity into action.
My friend, you can make the world better tomorrow,
both for yourself and everyone else.
And it starts by being an optimist today.
That's all for this episode.
Thanks so much for choosing to join me here this morning.
I promise it makes my day every day.
So thanks for that.
If you enjoyed this episode,
then it would mean a lot if you took one second
just to leave a comment or review.
I hope to see you back here soon on Wake Me Up,
and until then, go out and have a fantastic day.
