Good morning and welcome to Wake Me Up.
I'm Tyler, your host.
And this is the podcast where morning people are made.
Friends, love is all around us.
It can be found everywhere if we simply tune our eyes to see it.
Your relationship status doesn't matter.
Whether you're single and a serious relationship, married,
love is available and abundant for every one of us.
And today, we'll do a simple meditation to focus on feeling all of that love.
I'm sure it's going to put you in a good mood.
So, wherever you're at, let's all pause for a second.
Take a big inhale.
fill your lungs all the way up.
Feel that life, that air,
and then exhale and release it all back out.
There's another beautiful day ahead of us,
so let's not waste another moment.
If you're in bed, take a big breath in,
roll over, and make your way to standing up.
Now that we're all up and out of bed,
let's go ahead and get set for our meditation.
So find a comfortable seat anywhere in your home.
Just don't sit in your bed.
We don't want to go back to sleep.
And feel free to grab a sip of water, use the bathroom, do anything like that along the way.
Like I said just a minute ago, love is everywhere.
And it comes to us in a lot of different ways.
Sometimes it's a bit more subtle.
But that doesn't mean it's not real.
This meditation is designed.
to help you remember all of these different ways love can be given to you.
And hopefully, while doing that, it will make you feel loved and appreciated as well.
On the other side of this meditation, I think you'll realize how loved you are,
and you'll want to put that love back into the world today.
So, hopefully you found a comfortable seat by now.
And you want to be sitting upright, but try not to hold on to any tension.
Take a big breath in.
Fill all the way up, and as you exhale, slowly close your eyes.
Take this first moment just to settle in.
Try to relax, but keep yourself supported.
So soften your face, drop your jaw, let your shoulders relax,
and simply follow the rise and fall of your breath.
There's nothing special or magic about it.
But the longer you follow that rise and fall,
the deeper and deeper you'll draw within.
Now that you're nice and settled in,
think of a time when someone that you know,
a friend or a family member,
took care of you in some way.
Maybe they made you a meal,
or you were a guest in their home.
Remember that time.
Notice how they went out of their way,
used their own time and energy
to do something helpful,
or special for you, and recognize that they didn't have to do this.
They did it because they care about you.
Take a big inhale and fill yourself up with the love and kindness this person showed you.
And on your exhale, send a silent thank you out to that person.
All right, you can let that go.
And in its place, think of another time when someone that you didn't really know
did something nice for you.
Maybe a friendly barista gave you a special coffee on the house.
Maybe a stranger lets you cut in front of them in a long line.
Or a customer support person went out of their way to help you solve a problem you were having.
Remember that time.
Notice how they went out of their way.
Used their own time and energy to do something helpful or special for you
and appreciate that they didn't have to do this.
They did it because they want the best for you.
They wanted to make you happy and to help you out.
Take a big inhale and fill yourself up with the kindness and love this person showed you.
And on your exhale, send out a silent thank you to that person.
All right, you can let that go.
And finally, think of a time when you did something good,
or nice for yourself.
Maybe you treated yourself to a day of personal care,
gave yourself a special gift,
or invested in yourself, your health, or your future.
Remember one of those times.
And notice how you set aside time and energy
to do something helpful or special for yourself.
Appreciate that you didn't have to do this to keep living, to survive.
You did this because you care about yourself.
You want the best for yourself.
You want yourself to feel loved and happy.
Take a big inhale and fill yourself up with the love and kindness that you have shown to yourself.
And on your exhale, silently thank yourself for being caring and supportive.
All of these people, friends, family,
strangers, yourself, and many more other people, have shown you love in ways big and small.
None of them had to, even you.
You didn't have to treat yourself well.
But you did, and they did, because you deserve love.
Everyone deserves love.
choose to open your eyes to all of the ways that love comes to you each and every day.
Choose to see that people are supportive and caring towards you,
even if just in simple ways.
Now take a big inhale and envision all of these sources of love filling you up,
filling your cup until it overflows,
and then exhale, release.
relax and promise to return the love that you receive.
And you can just come back to your breath for a moment now.
Let your mind unwind.
It's time to wrap up our meditation.
So begin to bring yourself back to the room.
Notice your feet touching the floor.
Notice the chair beneath you.
Take a big breath in.
And as you exhale, slowly open your eyes.
And just gather yourself for a moment.
My friend, love for you is truly abundant.
I hope you see it everywhere you look,
and that you're going to turn around and give all of that back to the world.
Because what we choose to put out into the world comes back to us tenfold.
So I'll talk to you soon.
And until then, go out and have a fantastic day.
Thank you so much for listening today.
