Now before our episode begins, here's a quick word from our sponsors.
Hey there, and welcome to Wake Me Up. I'm your host, Tyler, as always, and I'm so glad that you chose to
join me here today. This week, we'll be talking about filling our own cup. And here's what I mean
by that. We only have so much energy in life to give. We only have so much bandwidth. Certain things in
life require us to give our energy for them. Whereas other things give us energy, they give us fulfillment,
and they bring us meaning. And while life is all about balancing these two opposing
forces, we so often can get caught up giving all of our energy out, and we forget to fill our own
cup. So that's what we'll be talking about this week. And today, in this meditation, we'll be doing a
really wonderful and relaxing visualization that can help you find some energy and fulfillment
from those things that do fill your cup, even when they may seem far away or inaccessible.
So let's go ahead and get started.
If you're still in bed, then use this moment to roll over and make your way up and out of bed.
And wherever you find yourself, make your way to a comfortable position that you would like to meditate in.
I recommend that you meditate sitting up, but that's only so you don't fall back asleep.
Truly, you can meditate in any position you'd like.
So do whatever works best for you.
And once you've found that position, just allow yourself to settle in.
Give your body permission to relax and give your mind permission to put everything else to the side and simply be here right now.
Take a deep breath in, fill all the way up, hold at the top, and then exhale, release, and slowly close your eyes.
use this first moment to continue settling in.
A few things that can help with that
are softening the muscles of the face,
unclinching and relaxing your jaw,
and allowing the shoulders to soften down.
And simply follow that natural rise and fall of your own breath.
As you do, you'll find that you draw deeper and deeper within.
As you settle further into the,
this meditative state, feel yourself becoming more present in this very moment, and make the choice
to be open and receptive to this visualization practice we're about to begin. Imagine in your
mind's eye any kind of cup you might like. It can be fancy, it can be big, it can be simple,
it can be small.
This cup represents your life,
a vessel that holds all of your experiences,
your activities and relationships.
Consider it a symbol of your well-being and your fulfillment.
And as you look at this cup now, it's empty.
It's asking to be filled with the things
that bring you energy and joy.
So take a moment now.
to reflect on the activities, the experiences that make your heart sing, the hobbies and passions
that ignite you.
As those activities come up, imagine one by one pouring them into your cup, watching them flow
and begin to fill the cup.
And each time you add something new, you notice how your cup grows brighter,
more vibrant, more alive.
And give yourself permission to savor those memories and those sensations that arise
as you witness your cup filling up, drop by drop, with these activities that bring you joy.
As you continue filling your cup, visualize now the people who bring love,
support and inspiration to your life.
It can be anyone, family members, friends, mentors,
or even kindred spirits you've never even met before.
See their faces smiling at you.
Imagine them surrounding you,
pouring what they have to offer in positive energy,
joy and fulfillment, happy,
to add a drop of life to your cup.
And as you're adding more activities,
more meaningful relationships,
you observe that your cup is nearing the brim.
You feel yourself,
filling with abundance and richness,
express gratitude for each of these experiences,
activities, and relationships
that nourish and uplift you.
and recognize that you have the power to choose things that will fill your cup,
ensuring that it overflows with positivity and deep meaning.
And now your cup has reached the brim.
So as a last step, you look inward and you say to yourself,
I choose to fill my cup, recognizing,
that you too can be one of your greatest sources of meaning and enjoyment in life.
And with that, your cup begins to overflow.
And with that overflow, you begin to reciprocate all of the joy and love that's been given to you.
And thus, you can see how this cycle of giving joy and positivity and support builds upon itself.
as you bask in the fullness of your cup.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
let go of any doubts or worries.
Trust in your ability to prioritize
and nurture the things that truly matter to you.
It's about time to wrap up.
So begin to bring yourself back.
Notice whatever's supporting you,
whether it's a chair, the floor, or something else.
Notice the air on your side.
skin. Take one last deep breath, the deepest one you've taken yet. Inhaling, holding at the top,
and then exhaling, releasing, and slowly opening the eyes and taking a second to collect
yourself. Well, my friend, I hope you enjoyed that meditation and that it's reminded you of all
of the wonderful things that bring you energy and fulfillment in life.
My belief is that we all deserve a full cup.
So never forget, when your cup is feeling empty,
you have all of these sources to refill it with.
And when your cup is full, don't forget to share.
But that's all I've got for you today.
Until tomorrow, go out and have an absolutely fantastic,
Day.
