Hi there, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made.
I really appreciate you tuning in and joining me here this morning.
Today, we have a simple meditation to help you chill out, relax, and find comfort and calm in any situation.
I want to give a very special shout out to Tanya
for joining the Wake Me Up Patreon community.
So thanks Tanya for supporting the show.
Let's dive right in.
And let's begin by just taking a big breath.
So inhale, hold it for just a moment.
And then exhale, just let it all go.
If you're joining us from bed,
then now's a great time to go ahead,
roll over,
and make your way to standing up.
It's the perfect time to get this day started.
And wherever you are,
let's take this moment to stretch real quickly
and just loosen the body up to prepare it for meditation.
So we'll start in a standing position
and just begin by rolling your shoulders back in big circles.
You can do both at the same time
and go all the way around your range of motion.
And then pause and roll them forward
this time. All right, you can let your shoulders relax. And now, let's turn to our meditation.
As usual, find a comfortable seat anywhere in your home. Just don't sit in your bed.
This meditation incorporates a very simple visualization. We'll travel to a relaxing place
far away from all of our worries and concerns. We'll take a cooling dip in crystal clear waters.
which will wash off any bad vibes you might have.
And while we're there, we'll find comfort and calm,
which will be able to carry with us through the rest of the day.
So by now, hopefully you've found that nice comfortable seat.
And make sure you're sitting upright.
Take a deep breath in,
and as you exhale, slowly close your eyes.
Take this first moment just to make sure you're comfortable.
make any adjustments you need to make.
And once you found that nice position, let everything relax down.
So let your face soften and let your shoulders relax.
Let's take one big breath together.
So inhale, hold it at the top, and then exhale.
You can breathe at your own pace, whatever feels natural to you.
The most important thing is that your breath feels smooth
and you can just follow that rise and fall of your breath for a moment
while you settle in.
All right, now that you're nice and settled in,
visualize floating out of and above your body.
Imagine looking at yourself just as you are right now,
sitting here quietly, meditating,
and see yourself for what you are right now,
the state that you currently exist in,
with whatever's going on in your life too,
the good, the bad, and everything in between.
Now, leave yourself here,
and leave all of your daily life here too.
Float out of the room and away,
high into the sky,
and begin to travel over the land, over the homes and trees, past all of the towns and cities.
The farther you go, the more distant your worries and concerns become.
And eventually, you reach the edge of the land, where it meets the ocean.
You can see the waves crashing on shore beneath you, looking around.
you see a little island off in the distance.
A tiny strip of golden sand lined with palm trees.
It looks like the perfect oasis.
And so, you decide to head towards it.
As you near the island, you can see its shape more clearly.
It's fairly circular, and in the center is a pool of christmas.
still clear water, shaded by tall, towering palms.
It looks like the perfect place to relax.
So you come down from the sky and land on the shore.
Immediately you can feel the sand beneath your feet.
It shifts slightly with each step as you walk towards the pool of water in the middle of this island.
Once you reach the edge of that pool of water,
you dip a toe in to test the temperature.
It's cool and refreshing to the touch.
The water is perfectly clear and still.
You can see every detail beneath the surface.
Here in this island oasis,
everything is calm.
There's nothing and no one to bother.
you. You can feel the briny ocean breeze on your skin, and you can even hear your own breath.
You have nothing to do but relax and cool off in this perfect pool of water. So that's exactly
what you decide to do. One step at a time, you slowly walk into the pool. First, you feel the
coolness spreading across your feet and up to your ankles.
Then it rises up your shins to your knees, up your thighs, to your hips,
up your back and your stomach and over your chest and shoulders.
Cooling touch of the water calms you and refreshes you.
It helps you to relax while fueling you with energy as well.
Here, on this little unknown island, you can't be bothered by anyone or anything.
The problems of your daily life are far, far away.
The causes of your stress ground up into nothing like the grains of sand on the beach.
You hear your own breath.
simply enjoying that sense of quiet and calm for a moment.
Here, there's nothing for you to worry about.
You are safe.
You are calm.
You are collected.
And you have everything you need in this moment.
As the time passes, your breath has the opportunity to steady.
into a velvety smooth rhythm.
And once you've found this calm place
and rested there for a moment,
you know it's time to go.
You have a life waiting for you.
One that you enjoy.
One that you cherish
and that you want to live fully.
And so you take one last look around,
allowing the image of this peaceful place
to imprint in your mind.
And then you slowly turn
and begin to walk away.
And as you gradually walk out of the crystal clear pool of water,
you aren't worried.
You know you can always return here
to this secret oasis.
Because this place lives within you.
It is your oasis.
It is your oasis.
comfort. It is your calm. And you can bring it about at any time just by closing your eyes
and returning here. But for now, you exit the water and you float back up into the sky. You soar over the
ocean and beyond the shoreline, over the cities and towns, the trees, the trees,
and homes all the way back to the place where you are right now,
sitting here, quietly meditating.
And once you return, you observe yourself for a moment,
noting the calmness on your face before entering back into the sensations of your body.
You feel the chair beneath you and your feet on the floor.
You might wiggle your fingers and toes.
And then you take a big breath in, and as you exhale,
you slowly open your eyes and just begin to gather yourself for a moment.
Well friends, I hope that meditation has you feeling all relaxed and chilled out.
Remember, if you are ever stressed out, anxious,
or just looking for a refresher,
You can always come back here to this meditation to create that exact same feeling.
Just as anger and anxiety might feel like they live within you, so do calm and comfort.
It's up to you, which of those you choose to experience in life.
Well, that's all for today, friends.
Thank you so much for tuning in and joining me here.
I have one simple request before I send you off into a wonderful day.
And that is to share Wake Me Up with a friend, a family member, or on social media.
Wouldn't it be so nice if everyone went about life as relaxed and open-minded as you feel right now?
A good morning is a wonderful gift, and your recommendation means the world to me.
so thanks in advance for your help and support.
I'll talk to you all soon,
and until then, go out and have a wonderful day.
