Hey there, and welcome to Wake Me Up.
I'm Tyler, and I'm your host as always.
I'm so glad to have you here this week because we'll be focusing on one of my favorite things, creativity.
Creativity is something that we all have naturally within us.
It's one of our greatest skills as humans, and it arises from quiet awareness, when we allow ourselves to think, move, and feel freely.
It's when we try to force creativity that we often lose our innate touch for it.
Now, studies have shown that quiet time in nature can actually help spur your creativity.
So in this meditation, we'll use a nature-inspired visualization.
to spark your sense of creativity.
The elements of nature that will weave into this meditation
will help you access the creative regions of your brain.
I'm sure it will help you move into your day
feeling focused, calm, and inspired.
So let's get started.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position.
I recommend that you find a seated position,
but of course, I recognize that we all,
have our own preferences. So feel free to do this meditation, laying down, or even walking if you'd
like to. And once you find that comfortable position, just allow yourself to settle in. You want to feel
supported, but you don't want to be holding on to any tension. So just do a quick body scan
and notice any places where you can offer a little relaxation. Take a deep breath in,
fill all the way up
and on your exhale
slowly close your eyes
continue allowing yourself
to settle in deeper
and deeper
and a few things that can help with that
are just relaxing your face
dropping your jaw
and softening your shoulders down
and just let your breath
flow in and out at its own
natural rhythm
really feel the smoothness
of your breath
And as you rest your attention there, just on your breath as it goes in and out,
you'll slowly find that you draw deeper and deeper within.
Now that you're nice and settled in, bring a new image to mind.
Picture yourself sitting on the floor of a lush green rainforest.
The ground beneath you,
is soft, padded with leaves and moss.
The air is warm and slightly humid, but it's comfortable.
You can feel a slight mist in the air as that mist settles on you.
It causes your skin to glow and glisten.
The trees that surround you are full and healthy.
You can see the morning sun peeking through the tree branches.
You hear exotic birds singing and chirping all around you,
and you hear a slight rustling of the leaves and the trees.
As the wind passes by, you have this sense
that you are surrounded by nature in its purest, most beautiful form,
and it makes you feel content at ease
and completely,
hole. You feel in no rush. So you decide just to sit here, soak in the sounds and senses of nature,
and just follow your breath. And as you continue to follow your breath, you realize that you play a part
in the ecosystem of this rainforest. You breathe oxygen made by the forest plants.
and return carbon dioxide so that this regenerative cycle can continue.
All organisms, including you, contribute to this atmosphere,
allowing the earth to exist as it is.
And as you sit pondering this idea, you begin to realize that everything in nature
is constantly creating and working together.
and just like the breath you create,
or the oxygen that a tree creates.
There are no bad creative ideas.
Each is unique and valuable.
When you create, you are giving to the earth
and playing your part,
just like every other living thing.
And it doesn't matter what you create.
It's always valuable in some way.
You see, you are a part of nature,
just as much as the trees and the birds and the mist on your skin.
As this idea settles further into you,
it inspires you to take a moment,
just to notice some of the creativity going on around you,
like birds, building their nest.
and frogs chirping in a perfectly timed chorus.
As you try new things,
you will evolve as a person.
Just like nature evolves constantly,
and that is one of the most beautiful things in life.
As you continue to sit here,
letting these ideas settle in,
letting nature wrap itself around you.
You feel no need to force anything in your life as a piece of nature.
You know that the things you need are out there, being created,
and whatever is needed on earth by other living things,
it will be created too.
Maybe by you, maybe by something else.
But all that matters is that you go out,
and you be exactly who you are,
because nature has created you to be exactly that.
And you may not always recognize the purpose,
but there most certainly is one.
And so if you can rest comfortably in yourself,
then you will create beautiful things.
It's about time to wrap up our meditation.
So begin to bring yourself back.
Notice whatever supporting you, whether it's the floor or a chair or anything else.
Notice the air on your skin.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale, slowly open your eyes.
And just take a second to gather yourself.
All right, friends, so I hope you enjoyed that meditation.
I hope it's left you feeling calm and inspired to take on your day.
remember that you are capable of creating anything you want.
The power, the inspiration, and all of the tools are inside of you.
You're allowed to change and experiment with new things as you grow.
And you should.
That's part of becoming the ultimate version of yourself.
So offer yourself what you need to do that.
A little time to breathe and sit quietly on a daily basis.
and I promise your creativity will expand far beyond what you ever thought was possible.
As I mentioned at the beginning, it's within this space of freedom and allowing yourself to be who you are
that we discover most of our creative capabilities. So believe in yourself and never doubt that you
have something beautiful to create in this life. I can't wait to see it. Now that's all for today.
We'll be back tomorrow with some affirmations that will help you further develop this sense of creativity.
So I'll talk to you tomorrow, and until then, go out, create something beautiful, and have an absolutely fantastic day.
