Hey there, everybody, and welcome to Wake Me Up.
I'm your host, Tyler, as always, and I'm so thrilled that you're here today,
because we're back for a meditation on this week's theme, generosity.
This practice will be a loving-kindness meditation, sometimes also called meta-meditation.
When we are being the most generous we can be, we're connected to a place of compassion,
and we become aware of the fact that everyone deserves more love, ourselves included.
This meditation will give you the opportunity to pause, come into this present moment,
and become the most compassionate and generous version of yourself.
You'll send love out to the people you care about, and to the entire time.
world. And after that, I'm sure you'll go through this day full of generosity. So let's go ahead
and get started. I recommend that you find a comfortable seat anywhere in your home, but you can always
do this laying down. I know that we all have different spaces and different preferences.
The most important thing is that you find a comfortable position where your body's not going
to be a distraction. And once you've found that comfortable seat,
Just settle in.
You should feel supported, but try to let go of any tension.
Now take a deep breath in, fill all the way up,
and as you exhale, just slowly close your eyes.
Take a few seconds to get comfortable.
And a few things that I find always help me do that
are softening the face, relaxing the jaw,
and dropping the shoulders down.
Just take this first moment
to follow the rise and fall of your breath
and as you do, you'll settle deeper and deeper
into a meditative state.
Now that you're settled in,
move your attention to your heart.
And just notice what your heart feels like for a moment.
Imagine that each inhale brings more love into you.
And each exhale gives you permission
to let go of any resistance to that love becoming stronger and sharing it with others.
Allow your body to continue softening down and trust that your mind will follow.
If your mind wanders during this meditation, that's perfectly fine.
Instead of being hard on yourself for having thoughts come up,
see if you can wrap acceptance around each thought.
We have to start with compassion and generosity for ourselves.
if we want to show more to the people we love.
So when your practice or even your life feels imperfect,
try to just let it be that way.
So just take a moment now to practice that sense of generosity
with yourself and this particular moment.
Generosity is like a currency between people.
But the best part is you have an endless amount within you.
You can reach an instant feeling of fulfillment when you let yourself speak and act from a place of generosity.
So as you sit in this feeling of generosity and compassion towards yourself, think of someone else you'd like to share that feeling with.
Someone that you care about.
Someone that you'd like to send some support to and make them feel good.
try to visualize your generosity as something you can actually see.
And watch as you send that generosity towards them.
They are surrounded and filled with your positive emotions.
Reminding them of everything they deserve to receive in life.
All right.
Now picture that generosity, that love, that positive emotion,
being sent not only to that person you care about,
but to the strangers in your life too.
To everyone in your city, your state, your country,
and all around the entire world.
Be generous with your positive emotions.
And remember that you have no limit in sharing this.
So share it unconditionally.
Visualize that now.
That generosity, that positive emotion you're putting out into the world.
surrounding the strangers all around you.
All right.
You can let that visualization go.
We've got about one minute left before we wrap up.
So just let your mind wander wherever it wants to go right now.
Give it some free time.
All right.
It's about time to wrap up now.
To begin to bring yourself back.
Notice whatever supporting you,
whether that's the chair or the floor or anything else.
notice any sounds going on around you.
Take one final deep breath in
and as you exhale,
slowly open your eyes and just gather yourself.
So I hope you're feeling super positive
and generous after that meditation.
I find that loving kindness meditation
really helps me feel connected with the people in my life
from those that I'm really close with
to those that I barely know at all.
So when you feel disconnected from showing compassion,
passion and generosity to other people, start with yourself and a meditation like this.
Start by cultivating those feelings of self-love by showing yourself that you deserve to receive it.
This will help you give to others from a place of pure intention that doesn't expect to receive
something from them in return for your kindness.
You see, when you consistently give to yourself and fill up your own cup on a daily basis,
your cup will overflow with generosity, and you'll be eager to share it.
So start with yourself, and then turn and fill up the cups of others,
knowing that if you care for yourself deeply,
you will never run empty of good things to share.
If you'd like to enjoy a meditation that's more deeply focused
on developing this sense of self-love,
I'll be releasing one on Wake Me Up Premium this Thursday,
so it's a great time to enjoy that.

That's all for this episode.
I'll talk to you tomorrow for our motivation, and until then, go out and have a fantastic.
Day.
