Hey there, and welcome to Wake Me Up.
I'm so glad that you chose to be here this morning for this guided meditation.
and which will set our intentions for the day.
As we all know, there's tons of stuff going on around us all the time.
There's plenty of distractions and a lot of noise.
So by setting intentions, whether it's one or many,
the mind is better able to filter out those things
that we don't care to be as focused on.
I think you'll find that your day in general is more successful when you do this.
So go ahead and find a comfortable.
full position that you'd like to meditate in.
And if you're starting from bed, I do recommend that you use this opportunity to roll over and
sit up, but of course you can meditate in whatever way works best for you, your body, and the
space you're in. And once you've settled into that position, take a nice deep breath,
fill all the way up through your chest and your belly, hold at the top, and then exhale,
release.
And as you do, you can just gently go ahead and close your eyes.
Take this first moment of meditation just to allow yourself to settle in.
Mentally, set aside everything else you have to do today,
anything that was on your mind before you started this.
All of that stuff will still be there when you're done.
Use this time for yourself to create calm and clarity.
so that you can focus on what's most important to you.
And you can breathe at whatever pace feels natural and easy to you.
There's no right or wrong.
But do try to allow yourself to relax.
The state of the mind tends to follow the state of the body.
And so by relaxing the body, you can help your mind to relax too.
So soften the muscles of your face.
Just let everything release, drop your jaw, soften your shoulders down, and mentally and physically, let go of any other tension that your body or mind are holding on to right now.
And with each breath, just continue softening down deeper and deeper.
And now that you're hopefully nice and relaxed and settled in, take a moment to envision an outline of your day.
See yourself going through this day just from a high level and envision what this day might look like.
Great.
And now that you've had a look at your day, imagined it a bit.
Think about one or a few intentions that you'd like to bring to this day.
An intention is any kind of goal, value, or ideal that you'd like to bring to your day.
Try to keep it simple.
Something like focus, calm, or letting go of what doesn't serve me.
These are all great intentions.
But of course, there are an infinite number of intentions you could select.
So pick what feels best for you.
And as you settle on your intention or intentions for the day,
begin to envision that outline of your day again.
And imagine a few ways that you might incorporate these intentions into your day.
See how these intentions make your day more successful.
more fulfilling.
And they leave you happier at the end of the day.
And as we near the end of this meditation,
just repeat to yourself a few times.
I choose and fill in your intention.
So, you might say, I choose focus.
I choose to let stress go.
It's about time to wrap up our message.
meditation.
So begin to bring yourself back.
Notice whatever supporting your body, feel the air on your skin, and notice any sounds
going on around you.
Take one final deep breath in, the deepest breath you've taken yet today.
Hold and then exhale, release.
And as you do, you can slowly open your eyes and just take a second to gather yourself
and come out of that.
Well, my friend, I hope you're feeling calm and collected after this meditation
and that you've settled on one or a few intentions that are meaningful to you.
I hope that your intentions are making you look forward to your day.
And one thing I'd recommend is writing down your intention on a sticky note
or using a marker to write it on the back of your hand
because being reminded of that intention really helps you to stay honed in on it.
Even though you may think you know how this day is going to go, it'll never be exactly what you expect.
So stick to your intention as best you can.
And if you do, I bet you'll have a great day.
But that's all for now.
Thanks so much for tuning in.
I always love to have you here.
Until next time, go out and have an absolutely fantastic day.
