Now before our episode begins, here's a quick word from our sponsors.
Hey there, good morning and welcome to Wake Me Up.
Today, we'll be doing a meditation that will help you embrace your best self.
You truly are a gift, not only to the world, but most of all yourself.
My hope is that this heartwarming meditation will deepen your sense of self-appreciation,
and it will help you remember how wonderful you truly are.
So, if you're in bed, use this moment to roll up.
over and climb out of bed.
And wherever you find yourself, settle into a comfortable position that you would like to meditate
in.
I recommend that you meditate sitting and sitting upright.
That's simply because you're going to relax, but you don't want to fall asleep.
However, I recognize we all have different preferences and different spaces.
So find a position that works best for you.
you're in that comfortable, meditative position, just take a moment to put everything else to the
side for now. You chose to be here for the next 10 minutes or so, to meditate and be by yourself.
So whatever you were doing before and anything you have to do afterwards, just put that to the
side for now. And commit to being here. Everything else will still be.
there when you're done.
Take a deep breath in.
Fill all the way into your chest and your belly.
Hold at the top.
Exhale, release, and slowly close your eyes if you haven't done so already.
In the first moment or so of meditation, the mind tends to be more active.
And that's okay.
That's totally normal.
Just like when you lie down in bed at night, the mind often takes a little time
to settle down.
Here's a little trick.
The state of the mind
follows the state of the body.
So if you relax your body,
your mind will soon follow.
And a few things I find are helpful to do that
are softening the muscles of the face,
dropping the jaw and relaxing the shoulders down.
And simply follow the natural rise and fall
of your own breath.
There's nowhere you need to.
to be right now, there's nothing you need to do. Simply enjoy this time just to be here,
just to be you. Of any goals or outcomes you're hoping for or expecting, allow this moment
to unfold around you in its own way, opening your mind to the delightful surprises it may hold.
Try to simply be here now as yourself in this very moment.
That is a real thing that this universe has created.
You. Here.
Now, it was meant to be experienced in this way.
Feel refreshed and grateful for another day of life.
You are unique.
experiencing a body and a life of opportunities that no one else has.
Cherish that individuality.
Even if you wish that things were different,
know that the past doesn't determine the future.
Embrace the idea that things can always improve for you.
Somewhere inside, you already know that they will.
not necessarily in a straight line.
You know there will be twists and turns, hills and mountains.
But the trajectory is always upward.
Tune into that inner knowing, that inner confidence.
You know it's there.
Trust that your life will evolve naturally,
that you don't have to force it or control your reality.
allow it to unfold breath by breath, like unwrapping the perfect gift.
Imagine unwrapping yourself piece by piece, finding on the inside the incredible gift that is you.
Enjoy that process of learning and uncovering yourself.
And take your time.
See yourself as a present, radiant,
and glowing, the most amazing thing you could ever receive.
And affirm that to yourself now.
I am my own greatest gift.
Deep breath in, allowing these feelings to build.
Exhale, release, nice and slow.
No need to force it.
And embrace that feeling of joy,
experiencing life as yourself.
and enjoy one last moment, appreciating your own presence,
and the gift that you are.
It's time to wrap up now.
So begin to bring yourself back.
Notice whatever's supporting you,
whether it's a chair, the floor, or something else.
Take one final deep breath in,
the deepest one you've taken all day.
Hold at the top and then exhale, release, and slowly open your eyes, just taking a second to collect yourself and come out of that.
Well, my friend, I hope this meditation has left you full of delight and appreciation for yourself.
You truly are a miraculous human being.
embrace your unique self today and every day that comes hereafter.
I am so grateful that you're here.
Until next time, go out and have an absolutely fantastic day.
