Now before our episode begins, here's a quick word from our sponsors.
Hey there, and welcome back to Wake Me Up. I'm your host, Tyler, and I'm so glad you're here.
My friend, there are moments when life is easy.
Things fall into place, and there doesn't seem to be anything to stress over.
But those moments pass, and other moments take place.
Moments that might make you feel like you're treading water with no land in sight.
You're overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, and feeling like you'll never see the light again.
But just as the good moment did,
before this moment too shall pass.
So today and throughout the rest of this week,
let's talk about how we can use this phrase
to get us through those moments that feel impossible to overcome
and how to use them to become stronger.
Before we begin, let's slow down for just a moment.
Allow any stress to melt away
by reminding yourself that you are here, now,
And that's enough.
And take a few deep breaths at your own pace to solidify that.
As you take these breaths, acknowledge that bad times may come, but they also will go.
Ultimately, they will pass.
As you exhale, let go of any worries or fears that might be holding you back.
You can use the temporary nature of your breath as a reminder that everything which come,
comes, will also go.
Now let's take one deep breath together.
So inhale and fill all the way up.
Hold.
And then exhale, release.
Great.
Now, if you're in bed, use this moment to roll over and make your way up to get your
day started.
And feel free to go about your morning routine as you'd like to.
Whether that's making a cup of coffee or tea, going for a walk, having stretch, whatever it is that you like to do.
And while you do that, I'll talk about how we can find strength and resilience to overcome any challenge
simply by recognizing that everything is temporary.
My friend, there's no point in sugar-coding it.
Life can be hard on all of us.
At some point, many of us have the rug pulled out from underneath our feet,
and we find ourselves scrambling for solid footing.
Whether it's a job loss, a difficult breakup,
or even a pandemic that uproots your life,
we all experience times when things just seem too tough to handle.
And in those moments, it can be easy to feel like we're never going to get through it.
There's never going to be an end.
But when everything feels uncertain, you can be certain of at least one thing.
This two shall pass.
Just as good times come and go, so do the bad times.
Life is cyclical, and no matter what, the wheel keeps turning.
You'll never be stuck in one place for too long.
Now, I know it can be hard to stay positive when you're in the middle,
of a tough moment.
It can feel like being stuck in a hole so deep
that you can barely see the light.
But I promise you,
you're stronger and you're more resilient than you think.
You've made it through tough moments before,
and you can do it again.
And remember, tough moments are just that.
Moments, they're not your whole life,
and they're not going to define you.
They're just a chapter in your story.
and you get to decide how that chapter ends.
One thing that is really important to acknowledge
is that difficult stretches of life
can take a toll on our mental health.
We might feel overwhelmed, anxious, or even depressed.
These emotions are a perfectly natural response
to times of uncertainty and turmoil.
So we have to remember
that we have the power to control how we react to these feelings.
We can choose to wallow in them and spiral,
or we can choose to acknowledge them,
try to handle them productively and move forward.
One thing that always helps is focusing on the present.
You may not be able to change the entire economy or the state of the world.
But what is something you can do for yourself,
just to make it a little bit better?
What can you control at this moment to take care of the person that you are today?
Situations in the world around you will change,
but the time and care you take investing in yourself will always pay off.
So instead of getting lost in the tumultuous tides of the world,
focus on yourself, focus on the present.
Ultimately, no matter what is going on in the world,
You are here, now, in this moment, breathing with the opportunity to live.
And that is a gift.
It's up to you how you decide to face the challenges of life.
At times, we all feel overwhelmed.
And sometimes it might seem like it's simpler just to throw your hands up and quit.
But remember, every step you take,
no matter how small is a step in the right direction.
Keep moving forward.
Keep taking action.
Keep believing in yourself and in the fact that you will make it out of this.
And I promise you, this too shall pass.
You have been in tough moments before and you certainly will be again.
So each time you find yourself in one, see it as an opportunity.
to learn, to practice, to grow.
Be patient with yourself.
Take things one day at a time and know that you're not alone.
Tough moments can feel isolating, but we have all been there.
And I guarantee you, someone else around you is there with you at the same time.
But just as helpful as it is to remember that tough moments,
will pass. It's also important to acknowledge that the good moments will too. Life is a journey.
It's full of ups and downs, and it's never stagnant. So the more we can focus on enjoying that journey,
rather than fixating on a destination, the happier and the more balanced will be. After all,
there is no destination in life but the journey.
So wherever you find yourself now, whether it's a great moment or a tough one,
remember, this two shall pass.
And if you keep that mindset, no matter what you go through in life,
you will come out on the other side, stronger, more resilient, and happier than ever before.
Well, that's all I've got for you today.
I hope you enjoyed this episode.
and I hope you remember the mantra that's the basis of all of this week's episodes.
This too shall pass.
If you can keep that in your mind,
then you will be able to sail through whatever life throws at you with balance.
I'll be back tomorrow for a meditation on this same theme,
and I hope to see you there.
Until then, go out and have an absolutely fantastic.
fantastic day.
