Starting point is 00:00:28 Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Good morning and welcome to wake me up. The podcast, where morning people are made. This morning routine episode is designed to help you improve your ability to focus. Now let's go ahead and get this day started. We'll take the next few minutes to wake up, and you can just listen to my voice. I'll guide you all the way through. If you're in bed, open your first.
Starting point is 00:01:08 your eyes. Let the morning light help you wake up. Roll onto your back and gently begin to get your body moving. Take a big stretch in bed. You can circle your wrists and ankles if you'd like. Nice and simple. Whatever feels good. And begin to take some deep breaths. Inhale, filling up your lungs completely. And then exhale, just let it all go. And keep breathing like that, filling your body with fresh air. And notice how the flow of air helps you to wake up. Now, today's episode is all about focus. But what is focus? Well, it's the ability to center and maintain your attention on a certain object or task. It also encompasses the ability to to shift your focus between objects or tasks without getting lost in the transition.
Starting point is 00:02:36 So as you begin to wake up this morning, you may have things coming to mind, like your to-do list, maybe some worries about things you'll have to deal with throughout the day. But try as best you can to keep your focus in the present. What are you doing right here and right now? Now, enjoy this moment of stillness and quiet. Enjoy the big, deep breaths that you're taking right now. If during each moment today, all you do is focus on what you're doing in that specific moment, you will have an extremely successful, productive, and fulfilling day.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Now, I recognize that's a lot easier said than done, but also appreciate how simple it is. All you have to do is maintain your focus. So take one more deep breath in and exhale. If you're in bed, gently roll over on your side, place your feet on the ground, and stand up.
