Starting point is 00:00:28 Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Good morning and welcome to wake me up. The podcast where morning people are made. This is a morning routine episode designed to help alleviate the effects of seasonal effective disorder. It's great if you've just been feeling in a rut lately. I personally always feel a bit tired and gloomy around this time of year. So this one is partially for my own enjoyment as well. well. Now, enough talk, and let's get started. You could just listen to my voice as we slowly begin to
Starting point is 00:01:15 wake up over the next few minutes. If you're in bed, roll onto your back and slowly open your eyes. Take a few deep breaths. Inhale, filling your lungs all the way up, and then exhale. Without any force, just let it all go. Take a few more breaths to you. just like that. While you're breathing, you can begin to bring some gentle movement to your hands and feet. Circle your wrists and ankles or stretch out in bed, whatever feels good to you. Just listen to your body and it'll tell you what it wants. Now, depending on where you live, it may be gloomy outside.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Maybe snowy, rainy, cold, or gray out. Or maybe it's just really difficult to leave the warmth and comfort of your bed first thing in the morning. I surely understand that feeling. But remember that all of these things are temporary. Rain will clear and reveal the sun. Winter turns to summer. Some days you're full of energy and others you're a little tired. Bad days come and go, just like good days do.
Starting point is 00:02:54 and the only way to get through a gloomy day is to live it, to be present with it, to make the most of it. Reap what you can, and soon enough it will fade away. It's all about showing up in the little moments. The little decisions add up to big things. Like the decision to get your day started right now. So choose to show up today and to live it. no matter what it may hold. It may look gray right now, but you never know.
Starting point is 00:03:34 You just might be surprised. So take one more deep breath in and exhale. If you're in bed, roll over on your side, place your feet on the ground, and stand up.
