But whatever you do, be sure to subscribe or follow, Wake Me Up on whatever platform you use so that you never miss a great day. Now, you can just listen to my voice and follow along as we get this day started. As usual, we'll take these first few minutes to gently begin to wake our bodies up.
Starting point is 00:02:05 And the best way to do that is with long, full breaths. While you sleep, your breath becomes less frequent and shallower. But oxygen is our basic fuel. So filling your body with fresh air is really important to the process of waking up. You can begin to take full, deep breaths at your own pace, inhaling, pausing at the top, and then releasing. If you're still in bed, you can roll onto your back and open your eyes.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Use the morning light to assist you in energizing your body. And while you're refueling with fresh air, take a moment to appreciate waking up this morning to a brand new day. You arose out of your slumber without any conscious effort. Your body did it naturally, all on its own. And meanwhile, the rest of the world around you is waking up too. The sun illuminates the sky, and the birds might be chirping outside. Or maybe your pet is up and bothering you for some food or a bathroom break.
Starting point is 00:03:36 For those of you still in bed, you can begin to stretch out a bit, maybe circle your wrists and ankles if you'd like. But think about how miraculous it is that our world is fine, in this way, so that everything naturally moves in rhythm. Of course, there are variations, but that's the exception rather than the rule. And this rhythm occurs without any conscious thought on our own part. Billions, trillions of particles, living and inanimate, all take part. And you are part of that, too.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Just like every other part, you are unique. You are important. And you are vital to the universe being what it is. Now, on that note, let's get this day started. Take one more deep breath in and exhale. If you're in bed, roll over and make your way to stand up. Enjoy this first moment where you get to connect with the ground beneath you. If you'd like and you're able, you can take a gentle stretch.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Doing whatever feels good for your body. Now grab a sip of water if you'd like and make your way to a comfortable, seated position. We're going to transition to the meditation portion of this episode. As always, you can sit anywhere. Just don't sit in bed. While you get situated, I want to read you a quote from a book. It's called The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho. And it goes like this.
Starting point is 00:05:33 No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally, they don't know it. Coelho hits on a simple but vastly overlooked truth that you, And everyone and everything around you are critical to the story of the universe. It's true. And I don't say it just to make you feel good. Let me explain. The universe is made up of all kinds of particles.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Those particles comprise the sun, the earth, all of the other galaxies and structures out there. They carry energy through light and sound. and they make up every single bit of you and me. In other words, you are the universe, and the universe is you. You can't separate yourself from the universe. If you were to somehow remove yourself, mathematically, it would no longer be the universe. It would be the universe minus you. Now, I'll spare you from more algebra this early in the day.
Starting point is 00:06:54 But suffice it to say that for the universe to be what it is, you have to be here, living your life in the way that you are and having the experiences that you're having. And by doing that, you are shaping the course of history. But most of the time, we're shaping it without knowing how. We're sculpting a masterpiece while blind. But are we really blind? or are we just not presently aware, not consciously able to see the sculpting that we do? Might there be a rhythm of which we are part but don't notice? Like the cycle of the day, like waking up with the sun and the birds.
Starting point is 00:07:44 When you went to bed last night, you trusted that you would wake up because you know you're a part of the rhythm of night and day. The world brings night when you're tired. and it brings daytime when you're energized. So on a grander scale, why wouldn't we trust that we're part of a similar, more long-term, but less noticeable rhythm that is conspiring to bring us everything we need when we need it?
Starting point is 00:08:19 On that note, let's begin our meditation for today. Make sure you're seated comfortably, close your eyes, and begin to draw air deep into your belly. Hold that breath for just a moment before exhaling slowly. Inhale, hold, and exhale. And keep breathing like that at your own pace,
Starting point is 00:08:59 allowing your exhale to be just a little bit longer than your inhale. Take a quick scan starting from your head and just notice the sensations in your body. as you move all the way down to your toes. Once you finish that scan, just bring yourself back to watching the breath. If you'd like, you can count one on each inhale and two on each exhale.
Starting point is 00:09:49 If you get distracted, gently bring your attention back to watching the breath and allow yourself to draw deeper and deeper. and deeper inside. As you are now slipping deeper and deeper inside of yourself, bring to mind the image of a beach. It's a calm and quiet beach. Waves crash rhythmically on shore. The sun warms your face. You're walking barefoot on the sand, feeling it's sift between your toes and massaging your feet with each step. Without any rush, you make your way towards the water. Gentle waves ripple through the shallows, and one of these waves washes over
Starting point is 00:11:47 your feet. It's cool and refreshing to the touch. As you stand there enjoying this peaceful moment, You notice something floating in the water. It's small, and it's being pushed by the waves toward the shore. You watch it, bobbing up and down as it draws nearer, and you realize that it's a bottle. Eventually, a wave washes the bottle on shore, and it comes to rest right in front of you. Curious, you pick it up.
Starting point is 00:12:45 to find that there's a piece of paper rolled up inside of this bottle. So you remove the top and pull out the paper. It has writing on it, which reads, The universe is sending you exactly what you need, when you need it. You may not know why you need it right now, but you will know in time, if only you open your eyes. After reading the message,
Starting point is 00:13:29 you have a feeling that this message has reached you for a reason, that there's something going on in your life that maybe this would be beneficial to hear right now. And you think that hearing this message might help someone else too. So you roll up the paper, put it back in the bottle, and replace the top. Before sending it back out into the ocean with a retreating wave, you find a comfortable seat in the sand,
Starting point is 00:14:17 and watch the bottle as it bobs up and down among the waves. Slowly, it begins to disappear from view. Now, having received that special note, You feel it's time to leave this beach. But you know you can always come back here, and the note will reappear for you. So you close your eyes, and when you do, the sound of the waves begins to disappear.
Starting point is 00:15:02 The ocean breeze fades away, and you begin to come back to your present surroundings, feeling your breath move in and out, noticing the chair beneath you and any sounds in the room, you can start to move your hands and feet. And when you're ready, slowly open your eyes and take a moment to collect yourself. Now, it's time for today's send-off. In this final portion of the podcast, I share a bit of positivity to help motivate you for the day ahead.
Starting point is 00:15:56 The universe is sending you exactly what you need when you need it. You may not know why you need it right now, but you will know in time if only you open your eyes. That was the message in the bottle. And for whatever reason, you are receiving that message right now. What will you do with it? Remember that you are the universe, just as much as every other particle out there.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You are the rhythm of the world. So trust the timing of your life and be patient. You can't do everything right now, and you shouldn't. If you did, there wouldn't be anything left to do. And you can't know everything right now either, nor should you. Because if you did, there'd be nothing left to do.
Starting point is 00:17:00 to learn. You are the universe. If you had a higher self, wouldn't you conspire to give yourself the things you need when you need them? To teach yourself the lessons of life at the times when you need to use them, the universe conspires to bring you everything at the right time and removes the things you don't when you no longer need them. Have faith, in yourself, that everything is happening for you and every wrong thing can lead you to the right thing. Sometimes we need a painful moment to teach us a lesson that we'll use in an upcoming challenge. Sometimes we need a moment of celebration just to lift our spirits. Whatever is happening to you right now in life, know that there is something that there is something
Starting point is 00:18:05 beneficial in it for you. The only question is whether you'll open your eyes to see what it is. Well, my friends, that is all for today. Thank you so much for tuning in. As always, if you're enjoying the podcast, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend. I would love so much to hear from you. So send me your feedback at wakemeuppodcast.com.
Starting point is 00:18:39 I'll talk to you tomorrow morning, and until then, I hope you have a wonderful day.
