Good morning and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made.
I'm Tyler, and I'm so glad to have you here with me.
We've all got dreams and aspirations.
big hopes for all that we can do in life.
Outside forces will play a role in whether they come to fruition.
But one thing is for sure.
They definitely will never happen if we don't give it our all.
We have to bring all of our commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm to have a fighting chance.
And in today's episode, we'll focus on doing just that.
Let's go ahead and get started.
So, no matter if you're in bed or if you're up already, take a big breath in, hold it at the top,
and then exhale. Enjoy this moment just to relax before the day begins. And as you're sitting here,
enjoying this quiet moment, fill your mind with your dreams. What is your biggest aspiration in life?
See all of the images of you doing it. Living that dream.
with all of its excitement and fulfillment.
See your friends and your family, old and new, celebrating with you.
Notice what's different about you when you're living out this dream.
How do you have to change and evolve as a person in order to become the version of yourself
that makes this dream a reality?
Well, one thing's for sure.
That version of you wouldn't sit around wasting precious time.
So let's all take another big breath in, and as you exhale, roll over in bed, and make your way to standing up.
All right, now that we're all standing, let's do one quick stretch, and only join in this if you're able.
If you want to do a different stretch, then go for it.
If you're going to join me, though, then take a big inhale and spread your arms wide, opening your chest.
and then exhale and wrap your arms around your chest, giving yourself a big hug.
Let's do that again, so inhale and spread your arms wide.
Really try to open out as far as you can.
And then exhale, close your arms around yourself.
Now this time, inhale and reach your arms all the way to the sky, straight up above your head.
Again, stretch as far as you can.
And on your exhale, fold forward at your waist.
Nice and slow.
Let everything hang towards the ground.
Relax your arms, your hands.
Relax your neck.
And try to keep a nice bend in the knee.
It's still early and we're just waking the body up.
We don't need to push anything too far.
All right, now slowly begin to roll back up to standing.
And when you get there, roll your shoulders up and down.
Okay, so we did a little stretch.
Now, let's sit down and have a few minutes of meditation.
So find a comfortable seat.
Just don't sit in your bed.
You can sit anywhere else.
And feel free to grab water or use the bathroom.
Do anything like that along the way.
Today, we'll keep things nice and simple.
We'll use this time to let the mind unwind.
We'll focus on the breath and practice ignoring distractions.
This is such an important skill
if you want to give everything to your dreams.
Because distractions are everywhere.
They'll steal your focus.
And aside from commitment,
staying focused on your goal
is the most important aspect to achieving it.
So by now,
hopefully you're in a nice comfortable seat
and you're sitting upright,
but try not to hold on to any tension.
Let yourself relax.
Take a deep breath in
and slowly close your eyes as you exhale.
So just do a quick scan of your body.
See if anything is uncomfortable.
And as you go through each part of your body, just let it settle down, let it relax.
Make sure your face is relaxed and your shoulders.
And you can fall into whatever natural breathing rhythm works for you.
We want to focus on the breath feeling very smooth and effortless,
rather than a particular pace.
And just follow that breath.
each time trying to make it a little smoother than the last.
So remember, distractions will arise during this quiet time.
Noises from the outside, even your own thoughts.
Whenever you notice you've been distracted,
acknowledge the thing that pulled you away.
Thank it for the opportunity to practice your focus.
And then gently return that focus to the breath.
Okay, we'll be here for just another moment or so.
Keep returning to the breath whenever you find that you've become distracted.
Alright, now wherever you are, slowly begin to bring yourself back.
Notice the chair beneath you, your feet on the floor, maybe your hands in your lap, take a deep
breath in, and as you exhale, you can open your eyes, and just take a moment, collect
yourself and come out of that. Friends, as I said before, maintaining focus on your dreams is imperative.
It's a make it or break it situation. Lose your focus and you'll lose your enthusiasm. You'll lose your
time. And these are not things we want to waste on matters less important than our own dreams.
It's time for today's send off. Do you want to live out only half of your greatest aspiration in life?
I'm certain the answer is no.
We all want our dreams to come true to the fullest extent.
But if we want that, we have to give it our all.
We can't just go halfway.
We have to go all the way.
It's the only chance we have to bring it to fruition.
One of the most common regrets we hear from elderly folks
is that they didn't go 100% toward their dreams.
They're left wondering now, at the end of life,
what could have been if I had given it my all?
If I had taken that chance,
if I had just pushed one step farther.
Friends, that's why today,
and every day of this life, we have to go all the way.
A dream won't be fulfilled if it's only half-based.
So if you've chosen to do something, commit to giving it all of your effort.
You will have to sacrifice time on other things in order to focus your energy.
But it will be worth it.
That aspiration is worth it.
Living your dreams out is worth it.
Isn't it?
Center your mind on that goal.
Pour your heart into it every second you can.
use the fear of regret to fuel you even further. Don't lay in your bed tonight wondering what if.
Even if it doesn't pan out as you'd hoped, well, then at least you're not left wondering what
could have been. That's what keeps us up at night. And plus, diving right into your dreams,
you know that will be a fun ride, win, lose, draw, however.
it turns out.
So friends, commit today, right here, right now, that you will give this dream your all.
Give yourself your all.
You deserve it.
Well, that's all I've got for today, friends.
I really appreciate you tuning in.
I'll talk to you all next week.
Until then, go out.
Give it your all.
Stay focused, and if you do, I know you'll have a wonderful day.
