Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast, where morning people are made.
Like always, I'm your host, Tyler.
Today we'll go through a morning routine designed to help you stop procrastinating and start
knocking those things off of your to-do list.
Procrastination is something we all deal with from time to time.
So if you ever keep putting something off, play this episode one morning, and I think you'll find that you'll start getting it done.
Now, let's go ahead and get started.
We'll begin today, just like we do, pretty much every other day, by opening our eyes and just taking a few deep breaths.
So take an inhale, and then exhale.
And just keep filling your lungs and letting it go very smoothly like that.
Nothing gives you energy quicker than oxygen.
So make sure you fill your lungs up completely
and then just let it all go.
These should be big breaths,
but they should still be smooth, so don't force them.
And as you're breathing,
you can get started with some light movements or stretches in bed,
anything that feels good to you.
Now, today's episode is about procrastination, as you know.
Typically, we're all procrastinating on something, whether it's heavy on our mind or not.
And studies show that everyone procrastinates to some degree.
So know that you're not alone.
I'm certainly not immune to it either.
And I think it's also important to recognize that all procrastination isn't inherently bad.
You might be putting something off because it's a lower priority than other things that need your attention.
The problem with procrastination arises when it's something of high importance and we're still not getting it done.
But that's nothing to beat yourself up about.
It usually arises due to one of a few mental blocks.
And once we're conscious of what's stopping our action, we can address it and finally get things done.
And that is what we'll do today.
It feels like a really good day
to knock out a bunch of stuff
that's just been lingering.
So on that note,
if you're with me,
then take a deep breath in
and get up as you exhale,
roll over in bed,
swing your feet around,
and make your way to standing up.
