Starting point is 00:00:27 in Apple Podcasts. Thanks so much for you. for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast, where morning people are made. I'm Tyler, and I'm your host, and thank you so much for joining me this morning. Today's routine will help you block out all of the haters, all of those negative voices of judgment and criticism, when you're just out here trying to live your life in the best way. These voices are everywhere, and they tend to be some of the loudest mouths.
Starting point is 00:01:09 But these people speak from a place of insecurity, and after this episode, you'll hopefully be more confident and comfortable with yourself, such that you can just brush these words off and keep being awesome. Now, we've got a fantastic day starting, so let's make sure that we don't miss it. We'll take the next few minutes to wake up, then get out of bed. And you can just listen to my voice while we do that. Go ahead and open your eyes.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And take a second just to be grateful that you're here. You've woken up on yet another day of this wonderful thing called life. You have a mind with which to experience it and a body that helps you move and feel all the amazing sensations that we get to enjoy each day. Listen to your body. And do whatever feels right for your body. in this moment.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Whether that's stretching out a little, taking some deep breath to energize you, or even just laying there and enjoying some stillness before you get moving. Whatever feels right to you. Now, one of the main reasons I decided to make this podcast is because I felt like there were so many negative voices in the world. I wanted to offer something to counteract that.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Sometimes it seems like we're just bombarded by people telling us how to live life, judging us, criticizing our decisions or how we do things. It's really easy to give in to those voices, to just try to please people and avoid the conflict. But then we often face a greater, more deep conflict. And that's the inner conflict with our self for not following our own intuition, our own wants and desires.
Starting point is 00:03:12 I'm a huge fan of Bob Ross, the painting guy. And not just because I enjoy watching his paintings come to life. He has some really wonderful philosophies about life in his show. One of the things he often says while painting an animal or a tree is that here's this animal in our painting, doing all the wonderful things a happy little animal would do. And I know that's a little goofy and cheesy.
Starting point is 00:03:42 But I don't think it should just apply to animals and paintings. It should apply to all of us, too. This is your life. And you should do all of the things that a happy you would do. Because if you don't, then you're living your life for someone else. And not yourself. A happy you would do all the things you like,
Starting point is 00:04:09 regardless of what other people say or think about it. So today, let's commit to doing that. Just doing all of the wonderful things that a happy you would do. And if anyone doesn't like it, well, that's their problem, not yours. So, take a deep breath, roll over in bed, and then place your feet on the ground, and slowly make your way to standing up.
