Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of Wake Me Up, the podcast, where
morning people are made.
I'm your host, Tyler, and I'm so glad to have you here with me today.
When times are troubling and maybe you want to make a change to the world, well, the
place to actually start is with yourself.
So that's what we're going to do today.
Now, it's another beautiful day.
here on planet Earth.
What do you say, we get going with it?
And just like every morning routine
here on Wake Me Up,
we'll take the next few minutes to get out of bed.
And you can just listen to my voice and follow along.
We're not going to do anything difficult or complicated.
Start by opening your eyes if you haven't done that already.
And then just take a few deep breaths and fill all the way up,
all the way down into your belly.
And then when you exhale, just let it all go.
you don't need to force anything or push.
And if you want to go ahead and get your body moving a little,
now's a great time for that too.
So you can stretch in bed or anything that feels nice and comfortable to you.
Maybe this morning you feel like you're waking up to a tense world.
I've sure been feeling that way recently.
Sometimes issues in the world can seem beyond our control,
as if they're too big to change.
But big changes aren't impossible.
They're just slow.
They're slow because societal change requires large groups of the population
to make individual personal changes.
But not only can we speed this up,
you can help without any money or resources or anything at all, really,
because you can start with yourself.
Big societal change comes with individual people like you and I.
And it's when we start doing something different,
in our day-to-day routine and interactions with other people?
What if we all made a point to do the little things?
Like smile at a stranger, or call a friend just to see how they're doing?
What if we all took account of our own daily actions
and started trying to work on that first?
What if we all strove to be sources of positivity, care, and acceptance?
Today, let's take it upon ourselves
to be conscious of what we do
and how we interact with other people
and go about our day.
Where we can,
let's just take that extra one step
to show love,
acceptance, and appreciation to others.
That way, we can help the world move forward.
And selfishly, it feels great to treat others well,
so you can do it for yourself, too.
Now on that note, let's take a deep breath,
Then when you exhale, roll over in bed.
Swing your feet around and place them on the ground.
And when you're ready, go on and stand up.
