Starting point is 00:00:28 Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Good morning and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made. I'm your host, Tyler, and I'm so glad to have you here with me this morning. In this episode, we'll prepare for a great day. We'll get our minds nice and clear and focus on getting out of our own way. All of us are unique, gifted, and talented individuals with a lot to offer the world. Often, it's our own self-imposed blocks
Starting point is 00:01:12 that keep us from reaching our full potential. Today, we'll remove those blocks so that we can flourish just like we're supposed to. Let's go ahead and get started. We'll begin today, just like we do every other morning routine on this show, by opening our eyes and allowing the morning light to help with the process of waking up.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Let's take a deep breath in together, so inhale and hold it at the top for just a second. Before you exhale and just let it all go. Keep taking some deep breaths like that, not trying too hard or using any force, just focusing on letting them be very smooth and even. And as you breathe, maybe you want to get started. with some light stretches or movements in bed, anything that feels right to you. We just want to get the body moving a little,
Starting point is 00:02:30 which circulates the blood and helps us wake up. As I mentioned before, today we're going to focus on getting out of our own way. Have you ever gotten into your car, turned on the engine, and started driving? You might have gone a short distance, maybe even a block or two, thinking,
Starting point is 00:02:54 so slow, only to look down and realize that you've been driving with the emergency break on the whole time. I've certainly done this before, and I'm definitely not immune to these kinds of things. When it's something simple like that, it's easy to laugh it off. We all make silly mistakes. But have you ever stopped to consider whether you're driving through life with the emergency break on? Have you ever set a goal and seemed unable to make progress
Starting point is 00:03:27 like you'd hoped or expected? I'm willing to bet we've all experienced that at some point or another. And of course there are a plethora of reasons that it might be difficult to progress at something. But oftentimes, it's due to our own short-sightedness, our unwillingness or inability to see things objectively, to look at ourselves honestly and recognize how we're holding ourselves back from our own dreams. Surely, there are a variety of ways we can hold ourselves back, and we all do that a little differently.
Starting point is 00:04:07 It might be laziness or fear. It could be a failure to prioritize your time or a lack of organization. Whatever the reasons, they tend to hide in the shadows. They live in the basement of our mind. They're the cobwebs we know we need to clean, but we choose to ignore for one reason or another. They're able to hold us back because we keep them in the dark,
Starting point is 00:04:38 and so we overlook them. But when we look at ourselves honestly, we can shine light on them and usually clean out those cobwebs pretty easily. then all of a sudden you'll begin to progress at a speed you never thought possible. All because you started out trying to drive with the emergency break on. Well today, we will shine a little light on those cobwebs and clear them out. Today is the day you start moving toward your goals and dreams at full speed.
Starting point is 00:05:20 So on that note, if you're with me and you want to make today extraordinary, then take a deep breath in and as you exhale, roll over in bed, swing your feet around and stand up.
