Good morning and welcome to another episode of Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made.
Like always, I'm Tyler and I'm your host.
Sometimes we've just got to face it, we've pushed ourselves too hard and we're worn out.
I always encourage you all to show up and do your best every day.
Sometimes that does mean digging deep for that extra bit of energy.
But sometimes you just need to listen to your body and take it easy.
We can still show up on these days and get the rest that we need at the same time.
And that's what this morning routine episode is all about.
Now what do you say?
Let's go ahead and get this great day started.
Since we're allowing ourselves a bit of rest and rejuvenation today,
We'll spend a few more minutes in bed than usual before we get up.
So I hope you enjoy that.
And as always, all you need to do is listen to my voice and follow along.
If you haven't opened your eyes already, go ahead and do that.
There's nothing better than sunlight to help you wake up.
Let's take a deep breath together.
Inhale, hold at the top, and exhale.
Just let it all go.
One of the most important things for your body is rest.
I don't over-exaggerate when I say that it keeps us alive.
When you're out there giving life your best every day,
it's only natural to get worn out from time to time.
We want to do a lot in life, and that's totally great.
But in order to do as much as we hope to do,
we have to take care of ourselves.
So if your body is ever telling you that it needs to rest, don't feel bad about that.
Listen to it.
There's no need to beat yourself up.
It's telling you that for a reason.
Now, I always encourage you all to show up and do the best that you can each day.
But every day isn't going to be your best day, your best performance, and there's no reason
to feel bad about that.
If you're feeling worn out one day,
then you can still do the best you can that day.
It doesn't mean give up completely on days when you're tired.
It just means give the energy that you have that day.
By resting, you're still showing up the best you can
because you're taking care of yourself over the long run.
You're playing the long game, and that's the game you're
you want to play.
On that note, let's do some light stretches in bed
since we're taking it easy today.
Now you might get a little tangled up in the sheets doing this,
so maybe you want to climb on top of your covers,
but you can do whatever you'd like.
Maybe you want to get tangled in your sheets.
Let's start laying on our backs and bend your right knee
and bring it towards your chest.
Interlace your hands under your right knee
and just squeeze it down towards your back.
your armpit down towards your chest.
You'll feel a nice hip stretch.
And make sure you keep breathing while you do stretches.
It will really help to loosen you up faster.
Now let your right leg straighten out.
And let's do the left side.
So bend your left knee.
Interlace your hands below the knee.
And gently squeeze down towards your chest,
down towards your armpit.
And again, make sure you're still taking.
taking those deep breaths.
Now you can let your left leg fall straight
and bring both knees into your chest
and give them a big squeeze, a big hug.
Take a deep breath in
and let's get up as we exhale.
So roll over in bed,
swing your feet around to the ground
and make your way to standing up.
