Starting point is 00:00:29 Thanks so much for you. for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Hi, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast, where morning people are made. I'm Tyler, your host, and today I have a really quick but effective nugget of motivation for you, and it's basically that you, yourself, are an inspiration. It doesn't really matter whether you're starting this episode in bed or if you're up and about already. If you are in bed, go ahead and take a deep breath, roll over, and stand up. Make your way out of bed and into a comfortable seat if you'd like. You can do whatever you want. Just go
Starting point is 00:01:23 ahead and take the time now to climb out of bed. As I mentioned before, today we're going to talk about you and why you are so great. It's easy to focus on the things that cause us the most trouble and pain in life. And that makes sense. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. When something is poking us, making us feel bad, we pay attention to it and hopes of being able to get rid of it. But how often do we remember all of the ways that we've been awesome in life?
Starting point is 00:02:03 All of the little accomplishments we've had, all of the good relationships we've enjoyed, all of the obstacles we've overcome and all of the mishaps we've been able to avoid. Perhaps you've earned a degree, learned a skill like music, painting, or carpentry. You might have raised a child or even won a sports game or two. Maybe you've had the wherewithal and courage to leave an unhealthy relationship or home. You might even have been doing multiple types of things like this, all at the same time.
Starting point is 00:02:45 And when you add up all of these little things, it becomes pretty clear. You are awesome. But these are the obvious ways that you're great. What about the deep cuts, the unforeseen comebacks, the ones you may not think about much or even recognize? For example, maybe someone told you when you were younger
Starting point is 00:03:09 that you weren't good at something. But then you've gone on to become good at it. Almost all of us have an example of something like that in our life. Be it big or small. And that's a comeback to be admired. It's not easy to ignore those voices that put you down. But you've done it. And I'm sure that you'll do it again.
