Starting point is 00:00:28 Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Hi, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast, Where Morning People Are Made. As usual, I'm your host, Tyler, and I can't even begin to describe how happy I am to have you here with me today. This is a little motivational bit about life. Well, it's about you, really. each and every one of you. And I hope it inspires you to both believe in yourself more and to be a bit more humble towards others.
Starting point is 00:01:19 On that note, let's go ahead and get started. For those of you who are joining us from bed this morning, take a deep breath, roll over, and make your way out of bed to standing up. You don't need to do anything difficult. we're not going to do any heavy lifting. So just go ahead and take that first easy step
Starting point is 00:01:45 towards getting up and making today a great day. Now, I want to start with a quote, and it comes from Jidu Krishna-Murdi, a great Indian thinker and writer. And it goes like this. In oneself lies the whole world. And if you know how to look and learn, The door is there and the key is in your hand.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Nobody on earth can give you either the key or the door to open, except yourself. The idea is that you are both the being who experiences life and the experience of life itself. That is, you experience yourself, and that is what we call life. And this isn't just some lofty philosophical idea. Science inherently accepts this as a premise too. It's a basic assumption of many psychological practices. For example, a popular one being neurolinguistic programming. All of this is an attempt to understand ourselves,
Starting point is 00:03:09 to understand others and the world around us, and to figure out why things are the way they are. But the point is that the answer to all of these questions is intertwined with who is asking the question. The question and the answer are inseparable. Because if you ask these questions, you only have one option to find a satisfactory answer. And that's to look through your own mind, your own experiences. or stories and ideas you've heard from others that you've filtered through your own worldview.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And there may be an infinite number of possible answers, but only certain ones will be acceptable to you. And that's because you are you, a distinct being with a distinct mind and way of thinking. Now, I don't say all of this to confuse you or to send you into a philosophical downward spiral first thing in the morning. Now, that's not my intention at all. I say this to inspire you,
Starting point is 00:04:24 to look at yourself objectively, freely, and without judgment, to simply observe without any intention to affect change, to appreciate and accept yourself as you are, and to do the exact same for others.
