Welcome to Wake Me Up and to this mindful morning motivation that will help you stop comparing yourself to others.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Our modern world often prompts us to measure our own worth against others. We've even created systems and platforms that provide metrics to ensure we're constantly comparing. But these comparisons aren't accurate because we lack the information to make them so. And they're not helpful either because everyone has their own path. The only person you're really competing against is who you were yesterday. And the only person worthy of trying to become is the future you. This episode will guide you with mindfulness and motivation to embrace your individuality, to let go of the burden of comparison, and to find enjoyment in the journey that is uniquely
Starting point is 00:01:27 yours. So let's start with that mindfulness. You can close your eyes if you can and if you'd like. Either way, take a nice deep breath in, hold at the top, and then exhale, release, and begin to visualize yourself yesterday. Remember what you did, what you said, how you treated yourself, how you treated others. The things that you put your top. time and energy into, the things that you're proud of, and the things you'd like to change or improve, and determine how you can take a step forward from that version of you that lived yesterday. How can you progress down your life path today? Maybe today is the day you make a big change.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Maybe it's not, though. After all, most days aren't filled with massive change. What's important is taking a step forward that you can sustain, one that you feel proud of, that you know is a step in the right direction. The size of it doesn't matter. The intention behind it is what does. Envision yourself, taking that step forward today. See how if you continue,
Starting point is 00:04:20 that step into the future, it will change your life path. It will move you in a direction you want to go. Commit to yourself here and now. To take that step today, make that step your intention for the day. Now let's take one more deep breath, filling all the way up through the chest, expanding into the belly. hold at the top and then exhale, release and you can open your eyes if they were closed. If you're in bed, then get up, get your day started
Starting point is 00:05:12 and begin moving yourself towards that intention, that step forward. My friend, in a world filled with constant comparison, it's easy to lose sight of our own unique journey. We live in a sense of our own unique journey. society that often determines success by measuring ourselves against those around us. We fixate on things, like who has the bigger salary, who has more social media followers,
Starting point is 00:05:46 who's better looking, who's more fit, who's got fancier clothes, who's traveled farther, who seems more content online. But I'm here to tell you that this mindset isn't accurate, and it's not a lot of helpful either. Does this comparison make us any happier? Does it aid in accomplishing our own goals? No, not really. Because each of us began life in different circumstances, with our own set of challenges and opportunities. We all have different aspirations and dreams. So our points A and B in life are completely different. You can't compare accurately
Starting point is 00:06:34 because you don't have common denominators. So comparing yourself to others not only overlooks the individuality of your journey, but it also robs you of the joy that comes when you embrace your own uniqueness. Now it's perfectly fine to look to others for inspiration, ideas, and guidance. It's human nature,
Starting point is 00:07:00 to be motivated by those who've walked a similar path or achieved what we aspire to achieve. However, that should never come at the cost of our self-worth or the belief that we are less or more than someone else. So be comfortable going your own way, doing things your own way, and moving at your own pace. There's no universal timeline for success, and no one-size-fits-all definition for it either.
Starting point is 00:07:33 You are capable of achieving greatness on your terms, and your journey will be a testament to your individuality. My friend, everyone has the potential to make a profound impact on this world. Everyone can live a fulfilling, meaningful, and happy life. So let go. of comparison. Stop trying to be what everyone else thinks you should or must be. Follow your own path and do it proudly. Remember, the only person you're competing against is who you were yesterday. And the only person it's worth striving to become is the person you'll be tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:08:31 hope you enjoyed this episode, and that it's inspired you to lean into your own individuality. Your true power and your potential for greatness lies in your unique perspective and experiences. So don't run away from them. But that's all for now. I really hope you enjoyed this episode, and if you did, it would mean a lot if you took one second just to leave a comment or review and let me know. I always love to hear from you. I hope to see you back here soon on Wake Me Up.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And until next time, go out and have an absolutely fantastic day.
