Starting point is 00:00:00 What's new? What's new with Menace. What's up everybody and welcome to another edition of What's Dood. I am Menace. I'm going today by Bortz, K. Brett. He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the Woody Show morning show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on the Woody Show podcast. We are joined by only one friend today. That would be Eric. And he is coming to us from, I don't know, a phone booth somewhere in America.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And yes, hi, Eric. Let's just, we'll just get it out there. This is what your microphone sounds like. Hopefully it's not too spacey. Hey, do you know what? Not too bad. Hey, and you know what? After all the years that we've done this podcast, I can give you a pass on technical
Starting point is 00:00:45 difficulties, you know? I think this might be my first time that I really jacking things out. And it's not that bad. I mean, we can hear the room noise and you know what? Maybe I'm going to run a filter and try to take it out a little bit. But it's fine, Eric. We finally got you on the podcast. Pot, I feel like it's been eight months, fan in the background.
Starting point is 00:01:05 I'm going to do it, but I should mute myself when I'm not talking. And I'm just sitting here listening to you. I'm like, oh, I should actually kind of come in and out. So I'm going to be better about that just to start here. Okay. It's all good. But welcome back to the pod. I've edited radio shows that said it way worse than that.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just like we want clean, crisp audio for everybody. And we do our best to do that. Dude, there's so many podcasts out there that sounds so bad. Yeah, or so overfiltered because you can tell they're in a bad place. you're like, ah, this sounds mega digitized
Starting point is 00:01:33 at this point. So we still love you, Eric. Hi, Eric. Welcome back to the pod. Well, thanks for having me
Starting point is 00:01:38 guys from this phone booth in middle America. At least he figured it out, man. I know. We've left people so long and I'm so sorry. We have so much to catch up on,
Starting point is 00:01:49 but just real quick, got to get through this calendar. I want people to put this down because we have quite a few awesome events for you to join us at. And the first one's going to be coming up. And Eric, you're going to love this.
Starting point is 00:01:59 This is at a Dodgers viewing party that's going to happen with myself and Brett, believe it or not. July 20th, it is a Monday, I believe. Yes, sir. July 20th, 4 p.m. It starts. It's going to be on Sunset Boulevard Echo Park at the Dodger home base with Habit. The full address is 21, 34, West Sunset Boulevard, Habit Home Base.
Starting point is 00:02:26 We already have done an event there. It is so cool. It's like Dodger's theme. We're going to give away Dodgers tickets too, so that's going to be awesome. And, of course, a bunch of other giveaways. Dodgers home base, July 20th, 4 p.m., be there. We'll be doing a watch party for the game. So check that out.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Then on August 1st, I'm going to be, this is a Saturday, I'm going to be in Baldwin Park at WSS Shoe Store, back with them. That's going to be awesome. That's going to be from 1 to 3 p.m. WSS shoe store in Baldwin Park. Come hanging out with me. We're going to have a bunch of giveaways. I will be giving you more information on that once it starts happening. And then you beg for it, you ask for it.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I'm coming to Texas, everybody. So you better show up. Dallas, Texas listeners better show up because I'm going to be in Addison, Texas, at Lazy Dog Restaurant from noon to 2 p.m. This is going to be August 22nd on a Saturday. And this is the test. If you can show up and you listen to us in Texas, I know you do because I see the downloads
Starting point is 00:03:36 or if you listen to us on the Eagle, I need you to show up. I need you to put this down in your calendar, noon to 2 p.m. If you show up, that means we can do more things in Texas. All right, so if you want some love, this is going to be the first test. Tyler, you're just in Texas.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Hello, Tyler. You're here joining us as a surprise. Yes, I am. The guy who said that he didn't have internet and he couldn't join us today. full of ish anyways what are you talking about it oh my god we'll get to it
Starting point is 00:04:06 we know that you were just in Houston Texas which is awesome so he was he was in Houston Texas yes we just uh he went to Buckees and he blessed us with some Buckees so I appreciate that but real quick in actually you know what that's it on the counter so we can get to it
Starting point is 00:04:22 Eric is here as well Eric last time I saw you in person I believe was your son's birthday party it was I think I've changed rooms. Do I still sound like I'm in space? No, it sounds actually way better. A thousand times better. Very clean. Yes. So now I'm in a field in let's say Kansas.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Thank you so much. Dude, yes. And we did talk about your son's birthday on the pod. And it was lit. Thank you so much for inviting us. I kind of did the surprise thing that we'll talk about Tyler in a bit. He went to Vegas and surprise some friends. But I made Tyler carry the gift. that I bought for you to the party thinking that I wasn't going to be there. And then, of course, I eventually rolled through. Was the gift to over the top? I felt kind of batted later. I'm like, oh, I shouldn't have bought him a bike.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Is that like not good? No, it's going to be great when he can ride it. Yeah. It's a cool ass bike, too. Spider-Man webs and it's really cool. Right now he uses it as a seat. Okay, sweet. Because he is using it.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Technically not riding it, but he is using it. Because I'm like, what do I get him? And I think it was Randy or was it Tyler that told me like, oh, Spider-Man. So then I looked for all the gifts in his age range. And they all sucked. A lame A-F, dude. Yeah, it's kind of like having a baby in general. You have them and you're like, dude, when are you going to start doing some cool stuff and like playing sports?
Starting point is 00:05:50 And then it's like, dude, I'm four months old. Yeah. He's getting there. He's getting there. He's starting by action figures or I can buy him action figures. Thank God. I actually got him his first action figure. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Captain America, he loves it. Sweet. So he's getting to that part now where you can start buying cooler things, monster trucks, hot wheels, stuff like that, not like stacking blocks and crap like that, the boring stuff. Yeah, the bike wasn't super expensive, and it was right there, but it was like a year above than what you should be buying.
Starting point is 00:06:17 But it was the only cool thing there, dude, because I went to the target that some lady set on fire, so the inventory was really well. Right, no, but I am, I've already brought it up to Leanne like three times. I was like, can I just put this together? And she's like, Eric, he can, he, he's not going to be able to ride a bike just yet. I'm like, I wanted to learn to ride it more than I think he realizes even what it is. He does know it's Spider-Man, though.
Starting point is 00:06:40 He walks by the box. He's like, pal my man, palmer man, he wants to ride it. Well, I mean, he is a fast learner. I mean, the dude is a little adult. He looks like an adult, acts like an adult. He was walking like really quickly. And I don't know if, uh, menace, if you saw the video while you're on your vacation, right? Which I know we'll get to.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Uh-huh. I'll leave it there. Did you see the video of Baby Austin Actually standing up on skates for the first time No way He did, yeah, he put on ice skates First time he ever had him on He stood up in my front room and was playing hockey
Starting point is 00:07:11 Alright, when's he going pro? Right? Yeah, it was a crazy like I was expecting, you know, Like, oh look, these skates, you know, weak ankles I've seen adults can't stand in ice skates And he's standing in the middle of my front room Taking slap shots Oh wow
Starting point is 00:07:25 Yeah, it was the best Well, we celebrated I celebrated Austin's birthday. Then other things that we need catch up on. We celebrated Randy's birthday, which was lit. Now, I know Brett and Eric you had prior engagements. You couldn't make it out. But we celebrated the Coachella Valley.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Tyler, you were there. Night one, we hit the Korean barbecue. Dude, I couldn't believe it, but Julianne, who was with us, never had Korean barbecue before. That's not surprised that. I'm convinced. Like, I am solely convinced that. she just does not leave her house.
Starting point is 00:07:59 There's no one. Never had Korean barbecue. Still never had Jack in the box. You know what? She always says she's out in about, but is she really out in a bag? No, she is. She is.
Starting point is 00:08:08 It's just at bars, not restaurants. That was exactly my point. She knows bars and she knows people's garages and stuff, but I don't know about like these art places. Now, it just doesn't make sense.
Starting point is 00:08:18 It really doesn't. Yeah, it was really cool. We decorated the whole house for Randy's birthday. We made different party sections. So section number was the Green Bay Packers party section.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Then we made the Dragon Ball section. That was dope. And then we made the Pokemon section to party. That was awesome. Yeah, it was good. That was cool. Yeah, you sent me and Eric the video and we're like, this looks like a very awesome Randy theme events.
Starting point is 00:08:46 A hundred percent. And we we partied in the pool. We got hammered. It was the best. Julianne may have showed us her boobs. You guys should have been there. It should have been there. It was a really good time.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Now, guys, I hate to bring this up, but don't spoil it, Tyler. There might have been a scandal at the party, guys. Oh, sorry, wrong one. What scandal? There was gifts being given, okay? Uh-oh. And later on, in the pool, I noticed Randy holding one of his gifts. And I go, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:09:27 minute, that looks a lot like something that I used to own. Uh-oh. And it was a gift from Tyler given to Randy. No. No. I go, wait a minute. I go, Randy, I go, where did you get that cup? And he goes, I got it from Tyler.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Oh, okay, I know what this is. Okay, go ahead, go ahead. And it's one of the McDonald's soccer cups. I go, Tyler, where did you get that cup? because I'm pretty sure that's the cup that I got at work. I was told that that cup was just free for anybody to grab, so I just grabbed it. That is why bad. You were told from who?
Starting point is 00:10:07 I was told you that. Now, I will keep my sources quiet because now I feel bad, but now I was just told that. Well, hold on. Your source is quiet. You have very few loyalties here, and you don't mind burning people half the time. So who did it? No, now I feel that. Nope, we're not doing this.
Starting point is 00:10:25 I was just, like I said, I was told. Okay, I can respect. Don't be a rat. Okay, it's fine. Yeah. Yeah. Don't be a rat. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I've been, but you knew that was my cup, though. No, I legitimately had no idea that it was your cup. We did. I got the cup on the air. I do. I may have been in the bathroom. I did not hear you getting the cup on here.
Starting point is 00:10:49 I swear. I will defend Tyler. I will defend Tyler here. Because he has stated. on more than 1,000 occasions since he's rejoined the show. Just because you're speaking, don't assume I'm listening. If it doesn't have to do with Tyler, if it's not a Tyler segment, I'm sorry, Menace, he's probably not listening.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Okay. And the words of me, just because you're talking doesn't mean I'm paying attention. Okay, so everything's all good. Yes, he uses that every day. All right. Well, a cup that was given to me ended up at my own house. being given to another person. Fall-up story that kind of relates to this just this morning.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Uh-oh. I'm playing with the guitar that's in the studio. Jack Daniels guitar. Yep. I'm playing with the guitar. And Tyler goes, be careful with that because I don't want to mess up when I take it home someday. And I go, Tyler, this was a guitar that was given to me
Starting point is 00:11:48 for doing something with Jack Daniels. And... I have already told Tyler when he said, hey, I want that guitar. And I said, it's not the rooms. It's Medis's guitar. And Tyler, you'd be like 18th on the list of people who get that guitar. I still am probably higher on that list than you. And I don't even work there anymore.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Yes, you are. There are ways to word myself to the top. Okay, this will happen. I feel like Tyler. Is he just making a list of crap that he's going to take home? Menace, if it is yours or somehow, you've gifted it to him or have invited him on it, he is now the owner and possessor
Starting point is 00:12:28 and will then take the credit for said thing. Look, like I said, I like the guitar, like most people do. I would like it to possibly be mine someday. I actually completely forgot it was yours because once you said, oh, for the stuff we did with Jack Daniels, I thought about it, and I was like, oh, yeah, all those years ago, which makes sense why I had been there in the room so long.
Starting point is 00:12:48 And also, also, this is my effing studio. You are a guest in this. the studio. Okay, Brett, hold on. You couldn't have told me a week ago because we were on vacation a week ago, so that couldn't have happened. Wow. All right. I don't like when he's like low energy, mumbling, talking. I don't like it when he's ego-ridden and low energy. Okay. It's the thing. We are low energy right now, but it is for a very specific reason.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Here we go. Okay. No. All right. We'll just get into it. Forget my whole going to Austria thing. Yes, Tyler went to. Who cares about that? Who cares about that awesome trip. Tyler, yes. And again, this is when the, the Randy party was going on. Tyler expressed to me, he said, hey, damn it, man. I got invited to a bachelor party, but I just can't do it because of the timing. And I go, what do you mean? You just can't do it because of the timing.
Starting point is 00:13:41 He's like, oh, it's in the middle of the week. I got to work. And I'm like, dude, I do crap like that all the time. Make an appearance just hop on to a plane at the Burbank airport. and I figured out I figured out the whole route for him I'm like dude leave from work go and I told him like
Starting point is 00:13:59 leave his car a certain way take an Uber do it this way and get to your house on how you would you know make it work so I planned out the whole trip for him yeah so I give him props he ended up doing it he executed it if you want to recap it
Starting point is 00:14:16 real quick for yourself so what happened just yesterday Tyler Yeah, so this Bachelor party was in Vegas. It was in the middle of the week, like you said, so I couldn't make it. So we went to work at the show. Yeah, we went to work for the show. The second, and I mean like the literal second, this thing ended, I bolted out the door, Uber it over to Burbank, took a flight out to Vegas that was about 40 minutes, landed.
Starting point is 00:14:47 The best part was is that my friends, had no idea that I was pulling up. Only one person knew so they could kind of help me coordinate everything. So when I showed up, total surprise. And they loved it because they were actually talking on the way there that like, damn, it sucks that like he can't make it. And these dudes tried hard to get me to go. And I just told him like, I can't make it work.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Like I told him repeatedly, couldn't make it work. Little did they know I bought the ticket three weeks ago. Anyways, I showed up. They were super surprised. in this one instance yes okay don't come at me all right so we had a blast we gambled we drank we saw the u.s. get absolutely demolished in the world cup that's the only part that sucked we had a great time for eight hours then immediately ubered back to the airport flew back to l.a got to my apartment and i'm looking at it and i'm like there is no way i can go to sleep right now because if i go to sleep
Starting point is 00:15:50 I'm not going to wake up. I'm going to oversleep and I'm just going to miss the show the next day, which was the whole, like we didn't want that. So got home, took a shower, immediately hopped in the car, drove back to the studio. I am currently on about three hours of sleep in about the last 48-ish hours. I am exhausted. But I'm really happy that you ended up doing that, dude, because look, take advantage of your time that you have and try to you do as much as you can and enjoy yourself.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Don't sit at home every day because, guess, what? You just end up sharing the same damn stories over and over again. You got to have new stories. You have to have new experiences. So I'm so happy that you ended up doing that. So yes, last week, we were off. I went
Starting point is 00:16:34 to Austria. I went to the F1 race. It was awesome. Vienna is amazing. Go check it out. You can see all this stuff on my Instagram, so I don't have to recap it too much. But for you guys, you love this. Dude, so I went to a lot of sporting
Starting point is 00:16:50 good stores in Austria and in London. And of course, it's like all soccer, everything. But in the hat section, guys, they did have some baseball hats. And it was Yankees, Dodgers, and the A's. Wow. And I was pleasantly surprised. It kept on happening over and over again. And I don't know what the connection is in Europe and why they like the A's,
Starting point is 00:17:15 but I would not expect that at all. Like New York, L.A., of course. But the A's popping up over and over again, that was really, really cool. When I was in London, guess what? It was A's, Yankees, Dodgers, and Anaheim Ducks. Really? And I'm like, oh, this must be from the Mighty Ducks. Why?
Starting point is 00:17:37 Right? That's the only explanation. Yeah, that would seem like a logical answer for that. The A's got to be a Vegas thing. Really? It's got to be a Vegas. Yeah, I always thinking about that. It's got to be like.
Starting point is 00:17:49 big of an imprint yet. I don't know. Maybe they're just trying to get a foot hold. It's because I'm like thinking like maybe an owner, the owner has, I don't know. I mean, I'm not that. Okay. So when I was in Vienna, Austria and I go to the sporting goods store, I grabbed the A's hat. And it was on the side. It was Ricky Henderson from like the 1989 world series being highlighted on there.
Starting point is 00:18:10 So I don't know what the connection was. But I was pleasantly surprised though. Hey, I mean, you're always going to say it. Bay Area in the building. The Bay's in the building. That's all I got to say. It was great to have the A's over the Giants. That was cool.
Starting point is 00:18:22 So I support that. I ended up going to see Bad Bunny in Paris that ruled. And I would love to like one day this is, I know I always throw things out there. But my dream would be for all of us go to London because I think it would have a good time. And you know what? They do NFL games there here and there. Right, Eric? They do.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Yeah. They are committed. I have been pitched to maybe possibly go to the Australia game. September 11th. That would be 49ers versus the Rams because I'm in a very unique position where my social following has the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles followers too. So to promote taking Qantas airways to the game from Los Angeles. So let's see if that happens. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Real quick. Eric, what the hell has been happening with your life in the past? I don't know. Seven months since you've been on the podcast. We've been quite a bit. It's been quite a long time, huh? I mean, dude, I mean, I hate to be that guy.
Starting point is 00:19:23 I'm working, you know, we've been to Disneyland a couple times, you know, barbecues with the family. I'm full-blown dad. Yeah. You're still going to other events, though. Like, didn't you go to wedding in Oregon or something like that? Oh, yeah. Went to wedding. We went to Eugene Oregon for a wedding.
Starting point is 00:19:37 That was sick. Sweet little town. Nice and green. Get shoutouts from Sublime. Right. Yeah. But it's been, it's been dope. I'm going to go back to your trip, though, menace.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Yeah. You were boots on the ground for like London games, Paris games. Oh my God. Like, I mean, the United States hosts in the World Cup has been sick, you know, seeing all these football stadiums host these things, Mexico City. But like you were boots on the ground for playoff, knockout round games for both London or England and Paris. Like that must have been insane to be because those are soccer crazed countries. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:14 And I think that you guys would have loved it too because just like the whole. area of London is just buzzing. Like all the pubs, everything just popping. And they're open like 24 hours because of these games. And people are just like partying in the streets. And like every time a game ended, people are yelling and screaming. And it's not, it wasn't just like England fans. There was fans from Mexico like rocking jerseys.
Starting point is 00:20:40 There's fans from like all over the world. Like London is a melting pot of just like Los Angeles of people just from around the world. You know, so you'll see every jersey for every team. Notcho rocking the Mexico starter jacket in London before that game is pretty sick. Yeah, that's a peak moment right there. Yeah, that was a pretty solid fine right there. That was good.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Yeah, just the vibe of the city and people just being excited about sports. Yeah, I wish you guys were there to experience it because it was really, really cool. Are you excited for football season to possibly be here pretty soon, right? Oh, yeah. I'm ready to see you guys. in February. You think I'm non-existent now. I mean, once football gets going, no.
Starting point is 00:21:22 But I'm at the point where it's like, okay, let's start playing the games because I'm over talking about what could be. Let's see these guys on the field and let's get a new season going. And yeah, I mean, there's, I mean, it starts with that Australia game that you mentioned that you might go to. The international state's like, I think, 12 games this year. It's bigger than ever. So it's more coverage than ever.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I'm already locked in for one game on. on September 27th at Levi Stadium for 49ers. I'm going there with the family. Is there any games on the schedule that you guys want to hit up? Bill's come to L.A. to play the Rams in week five, I think. So I'm going to try to make it to that one at SoFi. That's for sure. I'm not going anywhere.
Starting point is 00:22:03 I'm not going out to Buffalo for their new stadium this year. Too pricey. But the bills luckily come out here for a Monday night football game. So I get to go out to that. Hell yeah. Tyler, do you have anything on the schedule? I really, really, really wanted to go to two games. The Falcons both go to Pittsburgh and Green Bay.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Unfortunately, those games are scheduled in the worst possible locations. The Falcons are in Pittsburgh week one of the season, which is a Sunday in the middle of the day. And I was like, damn, I was hoping this would be like in December when we're on vacation. So can't make that one. And then to make the Green Bay one even worse, that thing is on a Thursday night. so i'm like well yeah that's not happening so unfortunately i will not be going to any games this year or at least games or my team is playing but who knows maybe we'll see a game at so far so
Starting point is 00:22:53 yeah tyler you can finagle your way into things get um woody's son out of his little pittsburgh weekend that they always do and then you could be woody's son for that pittsburgh trip go to penguins game and you know called woody daddy and all that stuff and then you're good to go work's covered because the boss is with you yeah done you can write it off as a trip that is that is that is an interesting little idea. I'll get back to you. He's like, I'm not going to say no, but I will mention to Woody. Like, yeah, week one, you know, crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:19 It's crazy if we ended up in a plane and back for work on Monday, huh? Yeah, got to, you know. Oh my God, fancy meeting you here. I never would have guessed. We can write it off as a work trip. Yeah, it'll be fun. Let's do it. I'm sure there's studios in Pittsburgh, you know. We could do the sports report from Pittsburgh and all that.
Starting point is 00:23:36 We got this, man. It was cool. Oh, just by the way, I want to put this out there to anybody listening. If you know anywhere that I can find some Austrian pancakes in America, I'm now obsessed with them. Dude, they chopped these little pancakes up like it's Benihana. It's crazy. You've got to look it up. Look up Austrian pancakes. So freaking good.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Eric, I'm sorry, you don't work here anymore. But I bought everybody gifts from my travels. And I did buy, Brett. He walked out of the studio, talked to engineer real quick in our other room. but I bought him a hoodie for the WWE, the British WWE fandom. So it has like the British flags and WWE is pretty cool. And then for Tyler, I bought him some cards because dude, there's a fanatics card shop in London. And dude, it was popping.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Poppin. There was people there in the card shop ripping cards. It's over by Oxford Street a little bit. And I couldn't believe. it when I saw it. I'm like, I didn't realize people were into cards like that other than America. And it was mostly all soccer cards. But they did have a little bit of football, some baseball, and a lot of F1 cards, which I support as well. And I think I found a new hustle because there's a thing called F2 and F3 where it's like the minor leagues of F1. And I'm like, dude, I can buy up all these
Starting point is 00:25:06 cards super cheap and if any of these guys pop then I'll end up being worth a lot of money so don't steal my idea Tyler but what did I what did I buy you Tyler for your gift from my travels yes you bought me uh tops NFL signature uh to 20 25 is that any good solid set uh it's it's it's you can be honest I don't know I was like I don't know if this is good or not that one's really hit and miss I've seen some dudes get some really really good stuff out there and I've seen some dudes open boxes that are just complete disasters. But the cards at least look really nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Yeah. So that's cool. And then the other one, which I'm kind of excited to open, the Topps team set, World Cup team set, specifically for Argentina. So Leonel Messi's in there somewhere. Yeah. So the reason I bought that box is because when I was in the store, people were ripping cards for that box. So I'm like, oh, this must be like a good one.
Starting point is 00:26:03 This is the one that people are trying to go through. So that's the one I picked up for you. So how is the car business for you? It's been pretty good. We took a little bit of a break while I was, you know, running around the country doing a couple things. But while I was in Texas, running around the country doing a couple.
Starting point is 00:26:24 You know, as I was jet setting. What a globe trotter. Yes, yes. Thank you, Eric. Thank you for recognizing. Anyways. Yeah, no, while I was in Texas doing absolutely nothing, made another hundred bucks on eBay.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Okay, that's good. Oh, I'm sorry, I did cut you off a little bit. I think you were about to talk about. So the box said that I got you does have Lionel Messi in it. Now, if it, well, it could potentially have Lionel Messi in it. If you do end up pulling a card like that, how much is, what is that worth? It really depends. So if it's like a normal base card, probably a couple bucks.
Starting point is 00:26:59 But the box does say, find autographs in lucky boxes, which makes sense why everyone, one was ripping into it because everyone's hunting a messy card. So if Messi's autograph is in there, depending if it's numbered or not, you're looking from anywhere between a couple hundred to a couple thousand. Oh, damn. All right. Yeah. And it helps that they just played their game earlier today.
Starting point is 00:27:24 I'm trying to remember if he scored or not. I think he did. And they just advanced to the quarter final. So, yeah, his price only goes up and up and up. Sweet. All right. Well, enjoy. Tyler did promise me
Starting point is 00:27:36 Eric if he does pull a Lionel Messi that he will take me to a steak dinner. Do you think that will ever happen? I mean, no. I mean, he's got to sell it first though, right? Because I mean, he's got to sit on it for a bit. Yeah. And by that time, that time he's like, it'd be long gone.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Or do you flip it. It would be forgotten in the wind. He's on to his next sugar daddy. Oh, stop. No, no, no. No. What is it? Messies cards are pretty fluid and they sell really really easily so his his values not going to go away or spike anytime soon he's pretty peak plateaued yeah yeah if i pulled an autograph of his out of this box i could sell it probably within five minutes like i would just list it in because that's what everybody's
Starting point is 00:28:20 now are you are you recording yourself opening all these boxes so you have that moment are you just going to accidentally forget and be like oh crap i have to fake this or like as you pick yourself up off the floor because you fainted because you just pulled a line on messy card you remember I got to tell everybody. I usually don't record myself opening boxes. However, there was one instance, and the reason was, is because I was opening the box, and in the second pack, I stumbled across a redemption card. So a redemption card basically means...
Starting point is 00:28:50 Oh, you really need one of those. Yeah, well, the redemption card, it basically means that this is most likely an autograph of somebody. It wasn't either made when all the cards came out, or the preemptions. or the person hadn't got around to signing it yet. So basically it's an IOU, right? So they are a very specific shade of blue, and you can see like the congratulations, like on the top of it. So I'm looking through this second pack,
Starting point is 00:29:14 and I see a redemption card peeking out. And I'm like, okay, hold on, kind of freaking out. So I'm like, okay, I text Randy immediately, and he was like, holy, dude, like this is kind of a big deal. I was like, all right, cool. So give it a couple minutes, open up the rest of the packs, finally get back around to it. I'm swiping, swiping, swiping.
Starting point is 00:29:37 I actually did fill myself on this one because I was really psyched to see who it was. Ended up being an autograph number to $2.99 of Connor Griffin, the really high prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates. And his stuff is going for a good chunk of money right now. The redemption card alone, which again, is a card. to redeem another card that redemption card is going for about 350 on eBay, which is kind of wild. Got a little business, but you got to be selling these things, man. Do you do, do, trust me. So I decided this one, I'm going to play the long game.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I scratched off the number on the back. I already redeem the card myself. Once that comes in, then I'm going to sell it. And yeah, dude, I am selling my stuff. So the one really expensive card I have, West Coast card show is in two weeks at the Anaheim convention center. If I'm able to make it, I'm going to shop it around over there and see what I can get for it. All right. We'll see what happens. Well, go ahead and do that.
Starting point is 00:30:41 And I do have to thank Tyler for one thing. What's that? So I did see the fanatic store earlier and I ended up going back to go pick up his gift, right? Right. Which put me later in the day. And then what I stumbled upon was, and this is like one of the first. And this is one of the most fun things that I did on my whole trip. There was a Tommy Hilfiger store that was down the street.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And I see people setting up for an event. And it was for the Cadillac F1 Tommy Hilfiger event. Invite only. That's dope. Obviously, I don't have an invite. Right. I go up to there. And I go up to the people handling this stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:26 and they say, yeah, are you on the list? And I go, no, I'm not on the list. But I do work in media and I would love to cover this event. Can I talk to somebody that's in charge? They bring out the person and go, hey, I work for IHeart Radio. I'm in London. Never heard of it. I go, oh, but I am a radio personality in America.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And they go, you know what? We'll let you in. Nice. So I go in. One of the drivers is in there. and it's just nonstop, just flowing alcohol and food the entire time. They're handing out merch for the team, and it was such a good time. And they even gave me extra merch, so I hooked up Andre in the office because he's a big F1 guy too
Starting point is 00:32:12 with a bunch of little trinkets from the Cadillac F1 team, even though they're not doing so hot. But everyone's given a pass because it's their first year. And it's Cadillac. Yeah, but I was like, oh, I got to go to an exclusive F1 event in London, and it was awesome. The other thing I wanted to shout out real quick before we move past all this trip stuff. The other thing that I got to do, which was really, really cool and such at a legendary track was Silverstone. I got to go in the paddock thanks to our friends at Airtasker. Air Tasker, they are a sponsor of the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 team, which are kicking ass this year.
Starting point is 00:32:52 they have access to the paddock which is a k the garages so while i was at silverstone i got to see them do like pit lane practice changes and go into the garage and do all this like uh super cool stuff in the paddock which is like the top tier thing that you can do in f1 so thank you to air tasker and if you don't know what air tasker is get it together air tasker is pretty much anything that you need to get done they can probably help you with it let's say you need to get your car you can probably find a mechanic on there. If you need to find somebody to deliver something across town, you can do that as well. You need somebody to help mount your television.
Starting point is 00:33:32 They can do it. Please check out Air Tasker. You need a gardener. You need somebody to do your laundry. Fix Tyler's Internet. They can do it. Tyler's Internet. You can find somebody on there.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Just go to Airtasker.com. Currently not one of my sponsors, but I would love to be a current sponsor with them. But they have the actual. They hooked me up to get inside and check it out. So thank you to Airtasker.com. They're an app as well. So download it. That was so dope, man.
Starting point is 00:34:00 I love seeing all the photos and all the footage of you from there, man. Yeah. Awesome. All on Instagram. Check it out at Menace on Instagram. Our next big event, our next big adventure together, some of the members of What's New Pod, we're going to be at SeaWorld coming up. And we're going to be doing a podcast there.
Starting point is 00:34:19 And I hear we get to meet a penguin. So we're very excited about it. that nice uh now Tyler you said that uh we would possibly go to a baseball game while we're in san diego are you yes are we coordinating that are you in charge of that or am i oh well let's be honest when it comes to coordinating that it's really coordinating one person specifically so i will be hitting up randy see if he can make it and uh depending on his answer we'll go from there dude he's a he's a squirrely little dude who likes to uh just kind of move around now A squirrely little dude.
Starting point is 00:34:54 He's a squirly guy. Eric. Dude, do you know how much coordinating that we had to do to try to get Randy in Coachella Valley on time so we can make the reservation for the Korean barbecue? I bet it's, I mean, yeah. Even him within the loop. And then you guys kind of like wanted this to be a surprise. So it's probably even worse. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:15 It was quite a bit of coordination. It was a lot of work, but we made it happen and it was fun. This is the part where I got scared. The very next day, Tyler, Randy, and Randy's girlfriend, Gio said, hey, we're going to go to, before, like, you know, the pool party happening. We're going to go to Walmart. I'm like, oh, my God. Oh, no. They're going to be gone for five hours.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Yeah. Yeah, because, and that's happened before where it's been Tyler, Randy and Randy's girlfriend, Gio, going on these side adventures. Yeah, because they get. distracted by things. And I was afraid because then because we had to go get Randy's cake later in jail had to be part of that as well. And I'm like, dude, no. I almost like yelled out because I wasn't there when they when they left.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I'm like, oh no, they're going to be gone so freaking long. They went card hunting, didn't they? Yeah. What happened at Walmart, Tyler? So nothing really. We got everything we needed. We were in and out of Walmart. I think in about four.
Starting point is 00:36:22 40 minutes. Like we just grabbed everything we needed. Okay. Yeah, we grabbed everything we needed real quick. We even found where the cards were and grabbed a box or two. And then the only reason, the only reason we took a little longer is because one of the things we needed to get was ice and Walmart for whatever reason was out of ice. So it was blazing hot. It was. Yeah, it was, it was really hot that weekend. So we ran over to Target grabbed like the last bag of ice that was in the freezer. So like perfect. Looked for more. Brought it over. So. So, yeah, I think, honestly, I think we were gone for like an hour, hour, 10 tops. Like, we were not gone that long.
Starting point is 00:36:59 So went from 40 minutes to hour 10. Yeah, yeah. It was like, Target was, it was like two. Yeah, Target was not that long. Target was another 15 minutes out of the way. So we had to run over that. It's just understanding how to corral Randy's squirrelness, right, his ADHD and knowing how to be like, okay, I'm going to make sure that you see these things, but then I need to grab you back.
Starting point is 00:37:20 The problem with him and Tyler going is that the both. of them will then start competing over finding things. Yeah. And, you know, then they start ending up being in Ohio trying to find trading cards. True. Okay. So I will say this and menace can back me up on this. I don't really ever show up late to anything because my dad when I was a kid was so on me
Starting point is 00:37:47 and my brothers about being punctual and being early because it's just like a common decency thing. So whenever menace is like, hey, I need you here by like this specific time, I always try to set out to where I show up like at least 45 minutes early. And then we just go from there. I can't recall where he like screwed me on being late. Well, besides getting lost up a mountain, besides that time. No, no, no, no. I was vindicated on that. Nacho said it led it to the wrong mountain.
Starting point is 00:38:15 I was vindicated. I will say that if you tell Tyler, you need you have to be here. Yes, he will be there. If you tell him something starts, but there's no hard start, then he'll mosey along maybe an hour and a half later. Okay. Because I did give him an itinerary for SeaWorld that he did not read this morning. Just because you said to, don't assume that he's looking. Dude.
Starting point is 00:38:38 Well, okay. So to be fair, he sent it to me yesterday when I was in Vegas, and I was kind of plastered. So I'm like, yeah, I'm not reading this right now. There we go. Blame him being drunk again. Sorry, sorry. I was just reminded of a story that happened. So we were on vacation last week, right?
Starting point is 00:38:53 And I wish Menji was here to offer this story because it's his, right? So Tyler will coordinate with us when he's sending over sports-related audio to me and Andrew to go over before he does the sports updates and stuff, right? So Andrew, sorry, Menji asked him, hey, I just want to know, are you sending this over Sunday night or are you sending it over Monday early before we get back? I just want to know so I could coordinate which one is it. Tyler responds back with, yep, that's correct. Yes. Uh, what? Did answer which day?
Starting point is 00:39:28 Didn't really read it. Just said, yep, I'll send it. That was a Randy's response right there. Randy does that to me all time. And didn't realize it until Monday later when Medji brought it up. I had, I completely read it wrong. And he's like, Tyler, reread it. And I was like, oh, yeah, my response makes no sense.
Starting point is 00:39:44 I'm terribly sorry about that. What is the answer? Dude, like the answer, he's like, oh, can you send, are you sending it on this day or this day? And my answer was two words, correct. And that was it. Yeah. All right. Moving on real quick.
Starting point is 00:39:59 I want to address something that I, I've been doing those little voice notes in my Instagram. If you don't know where they are, I will say giveaways and updates on my Instagram at Menace, M-N-A-C-E. You should subscribe to my channel on there because I'll give you updates on giveaways. I just did one. I gave away $250. yesterday. Nice. On Instagram.
Starting point is 00:40:20 That's why you should, you know, subscribe and follow. So I did do a voice note update while I was on vacation and it was like 1 a.m. and I was just like
Starting point is 00:40:28 so upset and frustrated. I was very loosey-goosey on the details but I was asking people please like and comments on my post. And I usually do that anyways but now more than ever
Starting point is 00:40:42 because this has happened to me once before. And I'm not saying that this is alleged. I'm not saying this is actually, you know, fact, but it's a coincidence and timing. Okay. So I did a social media post. And since I have like the pro account, professional accounts, it has, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:04 whatever the blue check. I have different options in there. And I had one post on there that was doing really well, the jackass one, right? And I said, you know what? it gives you an option to boost it. So if you put like 10 bucks behind it, it can reach even more people. I said, you know what?
Starting point is 00:41:23 I'm going to try this option and I'm going to see if it reaches more people like it said it would. I put the money on there. For some reason, it got rejected. Maybe because Tyler Crater's like slapping somebody and they think it's violent.
Starting point is 00:41:38 I don't know, whatever. Dude, my reach for my normal posts after like attempting to do that fell off an effing cliff where no one was seeing any of my posts and I go is it a because they see that oh potentially I might spend money to reach people like oh well we're going to throttle back all of his reach so he's going to want to spend money to reach people or it was like maybe they saw this thing like promoting violence I don't know whatever it is everything fell off a cliff now I really need people to like and comment on my post to get my algorithm fixed because I got totally screwed on that one.
Starting point is 00:42:23 That sucks, man. That's terrible. That's like rebuilding. Again, I don't know if that's the truth, but that all happened within 24 hours where I was reaching thousands and thousands of people up to like hundreds of people. Right. It sucks. So I left a voice note and I said, hey, people, can you please really engage with my post to try to get back on. and people have. So if you can, please continue to like and just leave an emoji or whatever. Yeah, leave an emoticon, leave a GIF. Like, I like doing that. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Anything. Easy. All my friends post, I like all my friends post. Anything they post because I know, like, at least for what we do, it's hard. You know, like, you're trying to do something with our industry and, like, reach people and, like, get a message out there to say, hey, like, this week. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:12 It's a bummer, man. if you have something that you care about and you're posting about it and it can come up to little keywords or little images or whatever that'll throttle something back here like I just want people to know about this and come out and support or this product or whatever it is you're like dude I want to show people like some cool footage from the jackass premiere yeah that's it's all I want to show people I want to show them F1 because it's fun yeah but no screwed anyways I blame Tyler I do blame Tyler I didn't even do anything he doesn't like my post unless I sent him to him oh stop it I like your post all the time. Get off my back. Notice how like, I'm not even joking. I want you to look at this next time. Most of the time when you send a post, you'll be like, oh, hey, can you guys like and comment? Notice that before you even text it, I've probably already did one, if not both of those things. Thank you. I know. I'm just giving you a hard time. Yes, thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:02 You know, it's funny. I can't say so much for Randy, but thank you. Randy will get it into three to five business days. Dude, he's a squirrel, man. He's a squirrel, though. He opens up the app and sees 17. Well, the algorithm is fully gone. That's when he'll give it a like. It happens.
Starting point is 00:44:21 It happens every once in a lot. It's so crucial. The second, like, something gets up online and needs, like, people engaging with it within five minutes. And I'm just, I'm not saying that just for me, but, like, if this is something that you're trying to do, get your, like, little group of friends together. And if you all have a common goal of this is what you want to do, like, within social media to get a message out
Starting point is 00:44:43 like make a group and be like hey you know what once I post something dude like it and comment it share it whatever hit repost and you guys will all help each other and it bums me out especially because it takes a second it's something positive to do
Starting point is 00:44:59 and you're not paying any money it's no money it's low energy and people spend way more energy and time fighting pointless arguments with people on the internet and leaving vicious comments I'm like, then helping their own friends. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:45:13 why are you wasting your time on this, man? Why don't you just promote something cool or like something cool or share something cool? Yeah. It takes a second. But, uh, it's it. I had a little more things to talk about, but I got to go. Um, Brett.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Yo. I want you to do something. I have a favor. I had a thought. Yes, sir. Okay. So you have an event coming up, right? I do.
Starting point is 00:45:35 I do. Okay. Hyena horror market, right? Yes, I have the hyena horror market coming up on. on Saturday, July 18th, from 11 to 4 p.m. It is a free event, free admission. It is at the Mayflower Club in North Hollywood. No, now, here's the thing, Brett.

Can you give us, just to promote this event, can you give us a solid 15, 20 minutes of the Borkcast? Oh. To promote this event. event. Oh, you know what? For you? Yes, I will. Because I was looking at the website today
Starting point is 00:46:17 and it says, Woody Show podcast. Now, if you go to the Woody Show.com, you can see all the Woody Show podcast available. And it's pretty much just the Woody Show podcast, the interview podcast, which people are, they've been trying to find the 21 pilots interview. It's there. People are like, you didn't post it. Yeah, it's right there. It's there. It's under interviews. Yeah. And then he had the What's New podcast. And right there, sit right there. is the boardcast that needs an episode.
