Starting point is 00:01:06 and welcome to another edition of What's You Pod. I am Menace. I'm joined by Bort, a.k. Brett. He's an audio expert and syndication expert
Starting point is 00:01:12 with the Woody Show Born Show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on the Woody Show podcast. I am joined today by my good friend Tyler in studio once again.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Uh-oh. He got a half a horn. He got a half a horn. He's been driving to be crazy. So half a horn. You're crazy. You're crazy. He's done anything.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Also, we are joined via satellite by our friend Julian. Hi, Julian. How are you doing? How's your teeth? My teeth are great. My back. That's where the pain's at. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Yeah, you are old ladies. I did Pilates this morning and I was like, oh, I feel like I'm 80. Nice. Well, we'll get into that a little bit more. A very popular video on the internet. People are enjoying it in the building. Not that you're suffering. Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Yeah, of you being in the pit in San Diego at Emo Night. But let me just ask real quick since you brought it up, Brett. Why is Tyler annoying you? Oh, this is how we're starting? Yeah, well, I just want to ask. Also, real quick, I guess we'll get into that one second. I'll leave you on a cliffhanger. I do have to get this out of the way.
Starting point is 00:02:14 All right, because I'm sure it will be a laundry list of things. But Baldwin Park, August 1st, 1 to 3 p.m. I'm going to be at WSS Shoes Store on Baldwin Park Boulevard. Now, they have two WSS shoe stores in Baldwin Park. So make sure you go to the right one on Baldwin Park, Boulevard. This is the deal. It is a back-to-school event, so they're going to have back-to-school supplies that you can get for free while supplies last. Also, they're giving out free haircuts. And of course, also, I'm going to be coming with a bunch of different prizes like I just did with Bort at the
Starting point is 00:02:48 Habit home base meetup. We gave away theme part tickets, concert tickets, Woody Show merch, and more. And I'm going to be doing it again. Once again, Baldwin Park, WSS shoes store a Saturday, one in three p.m. No excuses. Come on through Baldwin Park Boulevard. Now, Bort, why is this man annoying you lately? You seem on edge with Tyler. What could it be? Oh, so many. Why?
Starting point is 00:03:11 So many reasons. This fire him off real quick. Well, okay, top of all is we know Tyler has an ego. Yeah, I just a little one. And the ego is going a little unchecked lately. And it's the more, let's call it, responsibilities Tyler gets around here on the show. Tyler ego grows. and because of that he starts to claim things.
Starting point is 00:03:35 We've already talked about him trying to claim your guitar. Yes. He starts to claim the room. He starts to claim that, you know, it's his voice, his microphone, his camera. Still claiming the guitar. His spot. So, you know, I see him kind of claiming areas a little bit more his time. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:03:51 So there's that. Look, this is how empires are built. Okay, just to let you know that in Bort Studio, by the way, there is. Yes, thank you. Thank you for that. camera set up for our whole system for the Woody Show. So if you watch all of our video clips and YouTube or on our social media, we have cameras set out through the building that make it look kind of like we're close together. But Bort is in his own separate studio and there's only one camera in here.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Unfortunately, there's three microphones in here. Menji has a microphone. Tyler has a microphone. And Bort has a microphone, Brett. And the camera is facing Brett's microphone. So when Tyler gets on the mic, he has to push Brett out of the way. And oh boy, does he push me out of the way? He comes in a battering ram.
Starting point is 00:04:40 You'll see it in the footage, and I've posted many photos about this as well. Tyler actually puts his arm over my desk, over my laptop. So I'm trying to work, and I just have to lean out of the side. He's like, hold on, this is my spot. I need to stay here. So that's a reason. Let's see, what else? look in reply to that
Starting point is 00:05:00 empires are built by taking a little bit of space at a time okay that that is well wow everything in our group chat is Tyler pretty much dropping one liners like that like he is oh my God what was it during
Starting point is 00:05:18 that's not new though he's literally done that since we met him during the Odyssey big time players making big time plays baby oh because I sent a photo of Tyler and joined the VIP T-T C-C suite at the TCL Chinese Theater while watching The Odyssey.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I did very much appreciate Randy's reply to that, which was just his greed sickens me. That's the thing. Julia, we've had to deal with this this whole time. It's just, it's amped up so much as of late that I can't handle it 24-7, you know? It drives me a little crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Quote Mac Dre. I'm in the building and I'm feeling myself. Yes. Also. Do that in another room. Not next to me, you sick bastard. To quote the San lot. To quote the San lot,
Starting point is 00:06:01 heroes get remembered, but legends never die, baby. Yeah. It's sick of it. I think the quote is A-holes never die. I work with that too.
Starting point is 00:06:10 A-holes live forever, baby. But wait, Tyler, what about when we were at the the C-World bar and me, you and Randy were like looking at Randy's phone
Starting point is 00:06:20 at pictures. And there is this picture of Randy on top of your shoulders in Menace's pool. And what did you say when you saw the picture of yourself. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I do not remember what I said. What did I say? She said something like, damn, not going to lie, but compare what to what I used to look like, I look pretty good there. I did. I did.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I did. I did. I did remember saying that. I've been hearing that all the time too. Like, damn, I look good in that photo. Here, I'll give me the real reason as of the last 10 minutes.
Starting point is 00:06:54 I've been upset with him now. Tyler is now into Pokemon cards. Oh, wow. Look, I support that. To sell. To sell. No passion behind it. Except.
Starting point is 00:07:04 No, no. Except he's acting like an expert of Pokemon. No. No. Mad expert. You're trying to sound like it. You're trying to sound all knowledgeable. He's trying to school you on it.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yeah. That's one thing that I kind of dislike where I introduce people to certain things. Uh-huh. And then they try to tell me all the time about it. And I try to interject. And they talk to me like, they're the expert on. I go, I'm the one to introduce you to all this.
Starting point is 00:07:32 And then they come back later and they're like, man, I heard this somewhere and this is my thought. You're like, well, dude, I told you this two days ago. Real quick, Tyler did go to Houston, Texas and did not get myself and Julianne the Buckkees wagon that we wanted. It was not going to fit in my luggage. Anyways, speaking of Texas, one thing I forgot to mention, don't forget, Addison, Texas, everybody. I'm coming to Texas. I am doing a meetup from noon to 2 p.m. at Lazy Dog Restaurant.
Starting point is 00:08:05 August 22nd. It's a Saturday. No excuses. If you listen, I know you do because I see the downloads from Texas. Just, you know, make it a little adventure on a Saturday, noon to 2 p.m. Addison, Texas.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Lazy Dog Restaurant, can't wait to see you. Now, bringing up the TCL Chinese Theater. Shout out to TCL. Thank you so much for us. Use your suite. Awesome sweet. Amazing. Yeah, they have a suite that's in the theater that's above like all the other seats.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And it's a really cool experience. So we got to use it. We got to watch The Odyssey. What is your review of the Odyssey, Tyler, quickly? So put it very bluntly, it is one of the best movies I've seen this decade. It is so. Really? It is so, so good.
Starting point is 00:08:53 And clips of the movie have been coming up on my Twitter feed, constantly. And I keep re-watching. I've probably seen the last 10-ish minutes of that movie at least 50 times now. Really? Like the part where I don't want to give it away. I don't want to give it
Starting point is 00:09:11 we'll just say like you'll know it when you see it. The part where something happens, you'll know it if you've seen it. I keep re-watching it. I keep thinking about it randomly because it's just so perfectly well done. It is such a good movie. It is so good.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Okay, as somebody that's not an Odyssey Homer, I kind of like... Odyssey was written by Homer. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, true. I found that out later after, because I started asking ChatGBT on the way home, like, did this actually truly ever happen, like, the Trojan horse? Because we've heard about that story our entire life. Yes, it's high school. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:47 It may have happened. They don't really know for sure, but that, like, that battle actually did happen and things like that. Yeah. So when I'm watching the movie, I'm like, oh, I kind of know this story. kind of know that story. Again, I didn't read the book. Apparently, everybody else did, and they got super excited because we got to the theater and it was freaking packed, man. Yeah, you were saying that you've never seen it that packed. And meanwhile, I'm like, yeah, this doesn't surprise. For this movie, at least it doesn't surprise. Yeah. You're lucky that you just used chat CBT. What I did,
Starting point is 00:10:16 my mistake, is that I asked Kevin about it. Oh, no. Why did you do that to yourself? Now, the movie's three hours. What about Kevin's explanation? kidding. I'm like, Kevin, seriously, I don't care anymore. You lost me like 15 hours ago. Well, that's your fault for talking to nerd Jesus about it. I know. Now,
Starting point is 00:10:39 the movie is three hours. As somebody that went to film school, absolutely, beautifully shot, awesome. Oh, cinematography. As somebody that also took an editing class, probably could have took it down. Isn't that fun? An hour and a half. Isn't that great? Knowing editing skills?
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah, we could have skipped the first two hours. Here's the thing. Apparently, I read that the original cut was somewhere between three and four hours. Why? And the editor who works personally with Nolan, like that's his person for editing. He said that she was like merciless and cut out a ton of stuff just to get it under the three hour mark. And even then, I think it came in at like two hours, 53 minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:20 So three hours. It's a great movie. Yeah, but still this is a problem with movies that I'm seeing nowadays, right? Right. Everybody was looking at fun movies, like Super Mario Brothers Galaxy, amazingly fun, right? Yeah. We both saw it at the TCL Chinese theater. It was great. Mandalorian Grogu, an hour and a half. The New Avengers, the Thunderbolts, under two hours, and people will go, I could have watched it out streaming, man.
Starting point is 00:11:48 It wasn't that grandiose. It wasn't that huge. It wasn't that long. I feel like I got jip because it's under two hours. You guys are missing the point. It's a fun movie. Movies don't have to be two hours of 45 minutes. It's too long. Well, that's my issue with Marvel movies sometimes because it will have three endings in the movie because it's so freaking long.
Starting point is 00:12:06 So that is right, but I will say for this movie and for most Marvel movies at least, it didn't feel like three hours. Like I sat there, I enjoyed it that much. I'm like, I didn't feel like it was that long. Infinity War would never end. Well, you also didn't really like Infinity War, so. Watching it while I'm getting tattooed,
Starting point is 00:12:25 It took forever, dude. I'm like, this is the longest damn movie ever. All right, a couple things. We did get to see a Dune preview. Yes. Oh, are we in or out? So I've seen the first, I haven't seen the second one. I've seen the first one.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I'm out. Sorry, I've been out since the 80s with this. Okay. Here's the other thing with this Odyssey, though. It's going to be an IMAX for a very long time. I looked at least at the theater that, you know, we go to go watch IMAX, the T-C Tial Chinese Theater. It is there until August 12th.
Starting point is 00:12:59 And then the movie after that is going to be the Oak Street. Oh, the end of Oak Street. Which I didn't even know it was a dinosaur movie. But they're blowing past Spider-Man. So Spider-Man's not going to be an IMAX, at least at that theater. And then you say over in Europe that the Odyssey is going to be in the theaters until September. Yeah. So in London, the one IMAX theater in London is...
Starting point is 00:13:25 It has all the Odyssey showings sold out, I believe, until like September 10th, which is six weeks from now. I want to see Spider-Man, bro. Dude. But that's kind of Disney's own fault because Disney didn't shoot any of these movies really for the IMAX screen. And so now they're coming out with their own thing. I think it's called in... Oh, yeah. Infinity Vision or something like that.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Yeah, some weird thing. Indemnity vision. Doomsday trailer did look kind of good. You just brought up the Doomstay. trailer. I thought the movie was going to be Dr. Doom. It is Dr. Doom. No, but I thought it was going to be titled Dr. Doom's Doom's Day. Oh, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:14:04 No, no. No. It's Doom's Day. So how do we feel about some of the same characters being in this movie and Robert Downey Jr. is going to be Dr. Doom? So how's that going to play out? That's slightly interesting because the trailer did not
Starting point is 00:14:19 show his face at all. Yeah, but then it showed like all these other characters that were in the movies with him. as he was Iron Man. Yeah. So, like, the big one is obviously Captain America's back, but I have a gut feeling that's some sort of bait. Thor.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Thor was in it? Yeah, Thor was in the trailer. Thor was never technically killed off. No, I'm just saying Thor interacted with freaking Iron Man. Oh, that's true. Yeah, that's true. There's something we're not seeing in this trailer. Or they're hiding something or there's some switch because they made a giant note
Starting point is 00:14:51 about Robert Downey Jr. being back, possibly being Dr. Doom and I have a feeling there's something we are not seeing yet. There's a Bain switch giant. Maybe they're gonna make it like another dimension or another world. You know how they do that?
Starting point is 00:15:05 I think that is. They're definitely doing that. They're definitely merging. The whole point of this movie is to merge all the worlds. They're taking the X-Men universe. They're taking the Fantastic Four. They're taking everything
Starting point is 00:15:15 and they're merging it into one finally. So I don't know what they're gonna do, but I will say it looks freaking dope. I will say there is also a character that's missing because if you rewatch the trailer in the part where they're all standing in the same room, if you look at the Fantastic Four, there's a giant gap between all four months. Marvel's known to do that. Even in the Spider-Man trailer, people were saying, like, there's a scene where you see Spider-Man jumping up at a group of ninjas.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Sorry, guys, I'm not the biggest Spider-Man fan, so I can't tell you who the group of ninjas are. Sorry, nerd fail, whatever. There's spots in it that look empty, and people are like, that could be Hulk, that could be the Punisher, that could be a bunch of other people on Spider-Man's side. So Marvel's known to do that. They keep things out of their trailer. No, it's true, but I'm just very curious as to who it. I have a guess, but I'm curious as to who it is.
Starting point is 00:16:01 All right. Before I go to Texas, I will be at D23. And this is basically Disney's Comic-Con, which Comic-Con is this weekend. I don't feel like it's up in my feet as it has been in the past couple years. It's not. Is it because Disney has D-23 this year? It's because Disney has D-23 and because it's. Every other major entertainment source has their own version of Comic-Con now.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Yeah. Right? Like, WWE used to go to Comic-Con. Well, they don't do that. They have Fanatics. That was huge. Fanatics Fest this past weekend. Giant.
Starting point is 00:16:40 It looked awesome. I think I need to go next year. Oh, my God. It looks so cool. You had Ryan Reynolds out there buying cards and, like, hanging out with, like, CM Punk and doing, like, different crossovers and stuff. They spent $80 million to $90 million. on the event.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Yeah, that sounds about right. So you have that. Every video game company has their own thing now. They used to have E3 and they used to be at Comic-Con. Now, Xbox has their own presentation thing, PlayStation, Nintendo. And so now you have that again where now everybody has their own thing. And Comic-Con is kind of scaled back down to just the comic book companies. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:17 And the movie studios associated with them. You really only have news for what? Boys, Marvel, DC, Pokemon has their own thing. Anime has Anime Fest and the Anime Awards, so they're over there. Dude, I remember a big chunk of Comic-Con for a while was just, like, just Funko and just, like, all their pops in general. But, I mean, do you support everybody having their own thing, or do you want a centrally located thing? I mean, I kind of like it where it is centrally located, but I kind of also enjoy everybody having their own thing. Because you're catering to your market, you're catering to your key audience, and you're not splitting up your,
Starting point is 00:17:53 your announcements, like you're not saving your announcements for one weekend where everybody announces up. Now we get announcements throughout the year. So I think that's a bit more fun. I will say the only thing that sucks is for people who like multiple things. Like Julianne. Yeah. For it not being in the central location, then it gets really expensive. Oh, for sure. Yeah, that part sucks. Yeah. But I'm very excited for D23, August 14th through August 16th in Anaheim, California. They said Disney Pixar announcements, Marvel announcements, Star Wars,
Starting point is 00:18:28 and Disney Plus. So it's going to be a good time. This weekend, though, Julian, you're too washed, I guess. I don't know if you're going to go. This is my birthday weekend, you guys. My birthday's on Monday.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Cool. It called you all. Anyway. So you can take me wherever you're about to tell us, okay? No, it's okay. Well, I won't be there, but Tyler will be there and he can take you. Warp Tour.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I am not taking you, but I will be there. I know. Why, Julianne? It's your birthday weekend. Why, Tyler? Why aren't you taking her? No, I'm saying I know Tyler won't take me, but, you know, I would be fun. I go in mosh pits.
Starting point is 00:19:00 I can take you along. No. Okay. Okay. Look, I want to address this again one more time. Like, Randy's getting on my case like, oh, this little bitch didn't go in the mosh pit or whatever. Yeah, true. Again, I lost the one job that I had health insurance with, so I don't really have it at the moment.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Sound like a bit. I was going in mosh pits when I didn't have health insurance. Yeah. You're insane for that. She's a badass. She's an actual punk. She also got pushed in the tamest wash pit I've ever seen in my life. And I didn't go to the doctors.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I didn't even use my eyes. You just picked your teeth like you were a crack addict. It's all right. If you didn't watch it yet and you didn't listen to the last episode, Julianne was in a mosh pit at Emo Night in San Diego and she got pushed to the ground. You can see the video at what's new pod on Instagram. But Tyler, not taking her to warp tour this weekend. You're going with a group of friends, right?
Starting point is 00:19:51 Yeah. I'm actually going with a group of friends and the guy who's heading it is actually the very first friend I ever made in radio. So that's pretty cool. Me and him go back, I think, oh, God, almost 10 years, nine years now. Nice. Who are excited to see at War? Oh, man. Probably simple plan and bowling for soup.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Those are two of my dude. Oh, yes. Those are two of the greats. Dude, we're hanging out with the bowling for soup guy. Dude, okay, I was remembering that the other day because he just randomly happened to be on the same Alaskan crews as we were. And it was so funny because we talked to him for a couple of minutes. Very nice guy. We talked to him for a couple minutes.
Starting point is 00:20:27 And then, you know, we kind of split up. And it's fine. And then he comes back like 10 minutes later. He's like, hey, man, like I kind of forgot to ask and I hope I'm not bothering you. Can I get a picture with you guys? Like it was so funny because I'm like, I've never seen a band member kind of geek out about the show. It's usually the opposite way around. So I was like, oh, it's kind of cool to see.
Starting point is 00:20:46 But now he was super chill, dude. Very nice guy. That's fun. Well, what's your birthday plans this? weekend then too yeah um so what are the ratty ass kids doing for you somebody decided to push a baby out three days before their own so my middle child's birthday is on friday so unfortunately she's trying to jack my birthday weekend so what i'm doing and let me let me explain what it is before i tell you where it's
Starting point is 00:21:11 that okay all right on the 30th of july so next thursday there is an event that i found on Instagram that's nearby my city and there is country line dancing there's barbecue smoked food there's tons of drinks games like doesn't that sound fun yeah okay so it's up bull winkles oh yeah nice yeah i told my buddy that his birthday was yesterday he turned 46 and he's like what are you turning 12 i'm like listen listen And that boonwinkles, I think I drive by that one all the time. Is that the one they just remodeled? Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Yeah. And I'm just saying like after I'm done, you know, boot scooting, if I get tired, I can just go play laser tag in my cowgirl boots. Like, what's the big deal? It's a mini golf spot. Yeah. Yeah. And they have go cards and all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:06 It was boomers before boomers, but bigger. Well, it was bullwinkles and then it was boomers and now it's back to bowling. Where I grew up, we called it Malibu Raceway. Yes, same. Malibu Grand Prix. Yeah, it was. Never heard of that. It was awesome.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Oh, I had one of those around the corner from me in Hollywood. Yeah, dude. Bad ass. Well, so that sounds super fun. Yeah. And they only have this event. Like, I don't know if it's once a month, but the bullwinkles and upland, if you want to go to an event like that, just check out their Instagram. And they'll tell you when that specific event is happening.
Starting point is 00:22:39 And the one in July is on the 30th. So I think that's what I'm going to be doing. That's dope. Yeah. That's fun. What about them kids? What are they getting you for your birthday? You know, I don't really care about gifts.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I don't care if Kevin gets me one, we're not like gift givers. I just like when people spend time with me. Like, I just like hanging out. Let's go grab dinner. Let's, I don't know, grab a drink or let's just watch a movie together as a family. I don't need anything. If I want something, I can go get it. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Just put them on a go car and let them go. I'm sure. No, they're not coming. I'm not bringing them. Oh, nice. He's better. Actually going to stay home to watch them for me. Nice.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Hell yeah. Yeah. Well, I'm sure. So you guys are well. Welcome to come. I'm down. I'm sure Tyler will have a drink for you this weekend. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:23 I know. This past weekend, though, Tyler, didn't you go to this card collecting convention in Anaheim? Yes, I did. The same place that they're going to have D-23. Yes, I did. West Coast card show. In our group chat, he was constantly flashing money. Oh.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Like dollar bills. Okay. I was just not doing that in the new chat. That was just Randy doing it for me for some reason. Okay. Okay. But still your drop-ins. It looks like a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:23:48 So actually, and I'm like, isn't this bubble going to burst on all this stuff? The money that flashed, the money that was flashed, was actually coming to me because I sold some stuff. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:24:00 All right, good. Get in before the bubble burst. I'm actually kind of proud of myself. So the stuff I was selling, I probably bought for a combined total of, say like maybe 600, $650. sold it all for just under a thousand.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Nice. So you're taking us to Capitol Grill that they just opened up by the radio. We're getting some stakes, right? I had to pay off some bills. And Julianne's coming too, by the way. Yeah, for a birthday. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Early birthday celebration. I will plan ahead. Thank you. Thank you. Now, I have a follow-up to this because, Tyler, yes, I'm very happy for you that you are finding good cards and selling them and flipping and getting some money.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Flipper Jesus himself is probably proud of you if he was here. Yes, he is. But I have a question. Shoot. Before you went to the card show, you told us, Maness and myself, that you would be selling and you would not be buying any cards at all. It's all to sell. It's all profit.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Did you buy cards while you were at the show? Did you bring, did you put money back into the system? A hundred bucks worth. A hundred bucks. So I did take, that's not bad. I did take a picture. The most expensive card I've been. bought there was 60 bucks.
Starting point is 00:25:18 All right. Yeah, all the other ones were... You bought that Osama bin Laden car that he wanted so bad. I did see... Okay, okay, I'm throwing this out there. I did see it there. And it was signed by somebody
Starting point is 00:25:31 and I don't know who the hell signed it. And I'm just like, ah... Osama bin Laden. He is mega dead. He's not signing that. So I'm just like, I don't know who signed this thing. Wow. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Well, enjoy that. What if it was a guy who shot him? You know what? That guy? That guy has signed some... That might be. It probably is him. Who else was signing?
Starting point is 00:25:52 Yeah. Yeah, who else would sign it? Could be. That's cool. Osama's mom, I think not. Yeah, I don't think she would be a fan. No, I don't think so either. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Well, continue your card collecting. Thank you, thank you. All right. The other thing that I want to bring up, now, Julianne, I think you're the only one that can relate to this. I'm back in the gym, Julianne. And I'm going... Yes. I'm going every day.
Starting point is 00:26:16 and with this schedule, girl. It's hard, huh? It sucks. It sucks. I'm like, I'm trying to do this to feel good and now I feel tired. I know, but just give it some time after 21 days.
Starting point is 00:26:30 It'll create a habit. So just keep on with it. Yes, because let me tell you, for the past like month and a half because we've just got a lot of things going on, you know, us as a podcast group and then my family.
Starting point is 00:26:41 So I hadn't been to the gym. And usually I like to get up at 5 in the morning to start working. And I have been so sluggish. I can't do it. I'll get up at seven or I get up at eight and that's just not like me. So today I'm back in the gym and once I start getting on that pattern, the energy will come back. And that's like I used to be able to pop up out of nowhere at five o'clock like ready to work.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And right now I'm sluggish. But just give it time and your energy will come and then start taking creatine too. Yeah. Cause I'm like I can't. Yeah. I'm like I can't, you know, be tired every single day. Like I felt good. like even not working out, but I'm just like, I can't be a puddle of goo.
Starting point is 00:27:21 And I'm like trying to hold our 28 pound French bulldog so it can get its nails cut. And I'm like, I'm getting tired holding this like sack of potatoes. Yeah, you know? So I'm like, I got to get stronger. So the only way I can do that by going to the gym every day. Right. There's like you could be skinny and then there's like fat skinny, you know? And I'm not saying you are fat skinny, but like, you need to like have.
Starting point is 00:27:45 And I need to be stronger. Yeah, maybe more toned up. So in the gym every day. But God, man, this schedule, it's like not good. Well, I think the phrase is you have to do something like 21 times in a row for it to become a habit. Like you said, yeah. I swear to God, guys, he does it? Once in a while.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Once in a while. I said it like twice. I'm not going to lie, I got distracted by this little pocket knife that's right here on Brett's desk. Why are you talking about stuff? It looked cool. It was very pretty. Squirrel. Squirrel.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Yeah. See, that's why I get scared every time these guys say, oh, I'm going to leave the house to run an air. And I'm like, I'm not going to see these guys for three days. No, no, that I, when it comes to being on time for something, I am almost never late. This is why I yell at them. I just can't. I did like a shock taser for them just to get them back in line and stuff. You want one piece of quick food news?
Starting point is 00:28:35 Always. Uncrustible is big in your house, Julianne? Shockingly, no. They don't like them. But I love them. I love them. I just bought a four-pack yesterday. Smuckers.
Starting point is 00:28:48 What? I've never thought about putting them in the toaster. Really? Yeah, I've never done that. You never had a hot. Yeah, yeah. Melt's in your mouth. All right, so Smuckers baked uncrustables, and they're quite delicious.
Starting point is 00:29:02 But do you know who's coming for them? Welchers, yo. Oh, oh. And square form. And they said they're coming more peanut buttery and more jellyish. Ooh. Are we all in or all out? I mean.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Welchers. I'll try it, but like, I'll try it. You're going to stick with the OG? He's not going to stick. Look what he does with his teams. He's a jump-up. He's a flip-flop. He's going to flip-flop on Welch's and smackers.
Starting point is 00:29:31 What are you wearing today? Montreal Expos, dude. This is a history hat right here. Oh, okay. They don't even exist anymore. Wow. Yeah, what are they now? Now they are the Washington National.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Speaking of baseball, did you see the dude from the A's get hitting the Nads? Yeah, he hit himself in the NADs. Yeah, he like hit the ball and it hit the ground and then back into, oh no, no, it hit his bat and then straight into his Nads. Not good. And then he hit the ground. And then he hit the ground and then he hit a single, went to first base and then got taken out of the game and then had surgery because what was it? When the Nads exploded. Yeah, it was ruptured scrotum, baby.
Starting point is 00:30:11 What? Yeah. No. Look it up. We call that the Greg Gorey special. Yeah. Okay, wait. So what I'm imagining in my head, because you said exploded, when I think my second kid was born
Starting point is 00:30:24 and she was breastfeeding, she sucked so hard that literally like my nipple exploded, like a flower bloomed. So when you're telling me his nest exploded, she had blood all over her face like a vampire. Nice. I know. It was painful. painful. So I'm thinking in my head when you're saying exploded, like it literally like his skin opened up. Like that's not. Right? Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. But on that note, I'm filing this
Starting point is 00:30:52 under things. I wish I'd never heard. What the hell was that? Yeah. I'm just letting you know what was going on inside my head and that's what I was picturing. Nice. Wow. Sorry. Of course, Julian would have been a pair of just happened, dude. All right. All right. Do you guys have any more personal stories to share just recently? Not like that. Yeah. Did your nuts explode?
Starting point is 00:31:20 Going off of a NAD's comment, I went to lunch with some of my buddies yesterday and we went to the sushi. Oh, okay. I was going to ask you if you went to the spot in Downey. Oh, all host of Locos. And Chino. No, but they were thinking about taking me there on Monday. Oh, okay. I want to get out.
Starting point is 00:31:43 New videos. No, we're talking about exposing everybody on the Woody show to just recently. Yeah. Yeah. One of them was telling me a story that he was doing his thing. And while he was doing it, he threw his back out. Oh, okay. And I laughed so hard because I've never heard of a guy doing that and then throwing their back out.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Is that something that is. like a it happens to guys i mean how old is he 28 years old he's 28 he's 20 he's trying to rip it off dude there's no way there's no way i said let me tell you i am going to tell my podcast guys because i can guarantee you they're going to make fun of you that's probably never happened to them he has an old sports injury or something if he was like 60 something i'd be like all right like i get 28 no dude what are you like gorilla fisting what are you doing man Is he trying to jackhammer this concrete? Like, what the hell?
Starting point is 00:32:44 It's either a cramp or, like, it came out and then you hit a wall. I think it would be, like, the worst injuries. But nothing like that throwing your back out. But you threw, Julianne, you threw your back out brushing her teeth. I did, but I've never thrown my back out playing with something. I've never blown my back out playing with something. Yeah. We usually blow her back out.
Starting point is 00:33:10 You know what I'm saying? That's right. We do. What? Okay. Are you guys not with the slang term? Okay, maybe not. No, but we don't usually start the sentence with we.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Oh, okay. I see what you're saying. I didn't beat it as a collective effort. Yeah, man. Hey, I'll see you guys later, right? Yeah. We'll blow her back out. Wow.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Tyler was talking about his fantasies. I might be signing off. Remember, 25 people, guys. At what? Get over that. Get over that. Okay. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Anyways. All right. Well, yeah, a guy broke his back. Yeah, it can happen, I guess. All right. Now, Bort, you recently had an event, right? How did that go? It went good.
Starting point is 00:33:59 I wanted to thank everybody, especially Menace, for promoting it on the podcast. Julianne for reposting. I noticed you were doing that. You were reposting the promos for the hyena horror market in North Hollywood. It was a great time. It was an awesome event. Lots of people came out. So thank you guys so much for coming out.
Starting point is 00:34:13 It was awesome. And, you know, Menace, it has been an inspiration while going through more stuff, each of these horror markets to sell more of my collection and more of my storage and backlog and to further push out things that I don't need. Yeah. So more items are going to be up on my eBay page this week. Nice. Of stuff I don't need.
Starting point is 00:34:38 I don't know why I have it. Things I've forgotten about. I'm like, yeah. It's great having a collection of stuff. Like, you have your F1 cars. You know that. Tyler has... Whatever.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Crap ton of stuff. You know, Julianne makes fun of us for all this stuff. She has her McDonald's toys. I do that with... Okay. I do that with clothes all the time. And I just recently did it again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:57 It's dope to see how much... How valuable a lot of this stuff is. Things that... Dude, I found a couple South Park toys the other day from Kid Robot. Nice. I was like, oh, these are probably worth anything. I was about to toss them to the side. Oh, they're like $80 each.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Sweet. Cool. That's a vet bill. Wait, so when you make space, like, do you just fill that space back up with newer things or do you just not collect anymore for a while? Like what's your process? So my new mindset is if something can't fit on a shelf, it shouldn't be here anymore. Like, oh, I like that.
Starting point is 00:35:31 And I'm going through storage and pulling things out and look at it. Like, if this would disappear tomorrow, am I really going to miss it and forget it? Now, obviously there's things that I'm like, okay, this will stay in. in a bin, let's put it over here, but like, I've gone through bins of items and gone, okay, maybe two things are staying. The rest can go. Like, I don't care what happens to it. So to answer your question, oh, Julian, is stuff still coming in? Yeah, some stuff is still coming in. But I'm trying to make it like, if I find it at a resale store or a fleet market for like $3, $5, tiny items, nothing huge is coming in unless it's something really important. Yeah. So I'm really,
Starting point is 00:36:06 really trying to get rid of stuff. But yeah, man, the horror market was great. I was so ecstatic. It's great. What's happening in the world of Tyler? Tyler, how is the not having a second job going for you? Are you able to get by? So, yeah. So I'm getting, I'm getting by, I'm getting by just enough. To buy cards.
Starting point is 00:36:27 No, just enough to live for the most part. Like my thing has always been, as long as my rent is covered, as long as my car payment's covered, and as long as I can put food on the table, like, that's all I care about. The food part. Well, you know what? You know, actually, I think this is a perfect transition into the question that Brett had because, well, Brett, just go ahead and ask it. Okay. I mean, I had multiple questions about Tyler.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Tyler gave me life advice recently, by the way. Yeah, yeah. I'm sure it was strong. Oh, it was so great. So the question I have about Tyler. Sounds very sarcastic, but okay. So Tyler obviously is on weight loss medication, right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:02 He looks way slimmer. Thank you. It looked great. I was going to agree to that point because I was looking at photos of it. Tyler and yeah Tyler the weight has dropped off man it looks good yeah thank you there he's gonna use this tomorrow brag about it uh-huh all right but I do have some concerning thoughts like so obviously menace right is in the gym yeah like he just told us why he's in the gym what he's doing why he wants to build muscle and tone and you know we're
Starting point is 00:37:33 all trying different things to stay healthy I'm worried about Tyler oh okay he's on the weight loss medication. Yes. But he'll run down to the break room and come back up here with a giant deli cookie and a sleeve of mini donuts. Right? And I'm like, okay, I don't think these things are supposed to go hand in hand. And I think the weight loss medication is supposed to make you not want to crave these things or kind of shrink your cravings a little bit. Well, it's just that. I think you still want to eat it. Yeah. It doesn't get rid of your craving. It makes you eat less. Yeah. But you should be eating healthier. That would be the good idea of doing it. So that's what I usually do for. for dinners, I'll eat something obviously better than a sleeve of donuts and a cookie.
Starting point is 00:38:12 But like, okay, that's dinner. That's great. Yeah. I'm worried about the day to day because you go down to the break room. I say at least three times a week. Maybe there's a bag of chips here and there every day. Maybe there's, you know. But like, that's the thing is that that's literally the only thing I'll eat until maybe six or seven o'clock. But that, that's also not good, though, because you're just eating sugar.
Starting point is 00:38:32 But that's what the, that's basically what, like, the shot does is that it kills your appetite. So you'll still like want certain things like yeah, I'd still want like maybe a scoop of ice cream every now and then. But I don't want it nearly as much as I used to. And to be fair, I was going through the same thing. I was still eating crap, but just less of it. But eventually it is wore off because I got tired of that stuff. Yeah, honestly, it's getting to that point where it's just like, whatever. I am looking down because he is going through what I went through.
Starting point is 00:39:04 I'm looking down at our garbage can right here. and there's five Diet Coke cans in there. Okay, those are not all mine. Two are mine. Thank you. Thank you. Two are yours. I know one is Menjee, so I think at least one is mine.
Starting point is 00:39:17 The shot made me addicted to you Coke Zero, but I finally have calmed down. But I would drink like 10 in a day. It was insane. But I wasn't eating anything. So random, kind of on topic, I guess, just because you said Coke Zero. Have you ever seen Dr. Pepper Zero with strawberry cream? Yes. Never seen it until yesterday.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Really? Yeah, I swear I brought it home for Felicity to try. Cases of it here at the radio station. Oh, yeah. And the blackberry ones too. Yeah, we're giving away for free. But yeah, everything's going zero, which I support. And they're actually tasting way better than, you know, back in the day with all these diet drinks.
Starting point is 00:39:58 So much better. Have you seen the Pepsi probiotic? Because I just saw that yesterday for the first time. I haven't tried it. No. Me neither. I was too scared. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Yeah. What do you taste like? Well, then everything is going like protein too. There's even like protein water. Yeah, I did see that. But there's too much protein now because now there's a shortage. Yeah, there's a shortage on protein. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And helium. And helium. Helium. Yeah. There's been a helium shortage for like years. For a long time. And I was like, I'm going to buy stock in helium because there's a shortage that's going to go up, but it's controlled.
Starting point is 00:40:32 There was a helium shortage when I was still working at Ralph's because we were only allowed to inflate so many balloons like for a day. Yeah. We had a shortage. So yeah, I know. It's like going on forever. Helium is like privately controlled. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Big helium doesn't want you to know that. Yeah. I know. Wow. But, um, so yes, Tyler, you look good. Thank you. I do recommend like Brett is saying eat a little bit better. Have some chicken.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Have some steaks. Oh, I had a full protein meal last. Vegetables are in there too. I know menace doesn't rep those. But vegetables. Yeah. Fruits? Medicine is down with fruits?
Starting point is 00:41:06 Yeah. I will squeeze in the occasional vegetable. Yeah, just don't make all your snacks pure garbage. What I do have snack-wise, I either eat like peanuts or they have these bars that they sell at Target. It's like, I forget, not like lar bar, but they're sold in the same section. And I'll say, like, made with only three ingredients. Oh, I know. You know, something else.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Yeah. So I snack on those all the time. I will say. And jerky. I will say, when I'm at. at home, peanuts, massive, massive snack for me. I love, I love peanuts. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Shout out to peanuts. Well, guys, I hate to wrap it up. I am going to go back to the gym, not to be a gym guy. I'm not going to be talking about the gym all the time. Just wait. But just wait. Call me out on it if I'm talking about the gym too much. If I'm getting too crazy, like, you know, too much F1 talk.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Last race was incredible. Shout out to Kimmy Antonelli once again. He outside, crushing it. Sixth one in the year, right? Yeah. Dude, insane. I'm keeping track. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:44:46 listen to the mothership the Woody Show Monday through Friday on the IHeart Radio app. Julianne, do you have anything to say before we leave? Maybe something you'll find cute.
Starting point is 00:44:59 My soon-to-be four-year-old on Friday. She got her first pair of cowboy boots yesterday and her first cowboy hat from Boot Barn. And for Ina, so cute. And for Halloween, she's already getting her costume together. She wants to be Ella Langley. Oh, way, sweet. Yeah. Isn't that cute?
Starting point is 00:45:18 His shoes in Texas, sock and tail. Adores. By the way, she loves that song. Nice. El Langeley, killing it, dude. Oh, do you know what I need? What? And I hate to say it.
Starting point is 00:45:30 What? I need the Stanley Casey Musgraves collab. It already sold out. Who got the plug? eBay, my guy. I know. I need it.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Things I never thought I'd hear men to say. There we go. Right, I know. And the gym. And the gym. Tyler, do you have anything to say before we leave? Yeah, just another big shout-out to Finch and Sparrow for hooking us up at West Coast Card Show.
Starting point is 00:45:57 They're always really fun to work with. Awesome people. Say hi. Shout out to Megan. She is completely awesome. And they are based in around the Long Beach area. I can't remember where exactly. Signal Hill.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Thank you. Long Beach Signal Hill. That's where it is. They are based right there. But I did see on Instagram. They are working on a location for Riverside. Oh, they are expanding. That is pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Love to see it. Also, thank you for the two Pokemon cards you sold me. That was very fun. Okay. There's two little snorlax. One of them is eating just like me. It's great. Look at Tyler.
Starting point is 00:46:30 hoarding the people that are kind to him. What a nice sight to see. He doesn't remember what city they're in, but, you know, whatever. Because I knew it was, I know it's on the border of Long Beach and something I could not remember the other city. I apologize. The other thing was, I will be at Warthor this weekend. Vaughn will also be there at Warthor this weekend. And like I said last week, just going to reiterate it one more time.
Starting point is 00:46:51 If you see either one of us, just come up and say hi if you want to say. Hey, what's up? We're very nice people. We're not going to bite you. Ask where Julianne is. Ask where Julian is. And I'll tell you, ha, ha, not here. I'll be at home crying in my pillow fetal position.
Starting point is 00:47:04 But I do, I have one more thing. It's kind of nerdy, but so forgive me. But if you haven't started watching Monarch the second season yet on Apple TV, start because it's so, so good. And if you're watching Silo, that's also good. I think it's the second or third season. I don't know, but it's out now. And the first four episodes are out. I am at the very end of season one of Monarch.
Starting point is 00:47:27 It is very good. So I watch season two. And Silo did. It looked somewhat interesting, so I'll check that out. Oh, watch it. Watch it. And if you're wondering what Monarch is, it is a spinoff of the Godzilla universe. If you'd like the explanation on that, Randy explained it somewhat kind of not really a few episodes back, and me and menace ripped into him.
Starting point is 00:47:46 So if you want to hear that, go back. All right, do that. All right, Brett, one more last thing you want to say before we leave? Yes, O.C. Ferris started. Go get some nasty food for yourself. That's so delicious and diabetes-ridden. It's going to be amazing. Go get the deep fried Gonsito.
Starting point is 00:48:01 It's my favorite. Beach Life Board is happening. I'm going to try to make it to the beach today and walk my ass there and stay fit myself. And we are now at, it has been a long journey. But we are at 1,019 out of 1,025. 6 left on the path to being Pokemon Master. Nice. I just have to beat three more games.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Do it. All right, guys. We'll see you next week. What's new with menace.
