What's new, what's new with Menace?
What's up everybody and welcome to another edition of What's New Pod.
I am Menace, I'm joined by Bore, aka Brett.
He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the witty show boring show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on AFN.
We are joined by our friends Eric and Randy who are coming to us live from Downey, California.
And just over yonder is our buddy Tyler, aka Heavy T, that's coming to us live from Downey, California. And just over yonder is our buddy Tyler, a.k.a. Heavy T, that's coming to us live from Whittier, California.
Now, we're not joined today by our friend Julianne because we're actually recording at a super early time.
And this is the time that she starts delivering one of her 100 kids to school.
And now, if I sound a little bit weird, I'm actually in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I bought this microphone that you hear me on now from walmart which was uh quite lovely here in hawaii and it's
5 30 a.m and i got to give props to eric and tyler thank you so much for joining us on the pod today
because it's actually 7 30 a.m on their day off to come join us and record today because i'm actually
gonna be leaving on a plane in about an hour
i'm gonna go to maui and you'll love this i'm gonna go straight to a goat farm eric
and go feed some goats it's a dairy farm and then you can just like feed goats and then you get like
goat cheese and goat ice cream and stuff like that nice i mean tyler would be interested because he's a big milk fan he wants to suck from
the teat okay first off no that is no second yeah goat cheese very underrated dude goat cheese is
delicious for sure every time i go and have pizza i sprinkle a little bit of goat cheese on top of
it you know when you go to like pyology or something like that and they have that option
i get the regular mozzarella and then just a little bit of goat cheese on top it's delicious uh lazy dog used i don't know if they still have it but they
used to have a thing where i think they would give you crackers goat cheese and a spicy jelly to put
on top delicious we're sticking on lazy dog real quick don't want to derail us this early in the
podcast no no they have a new thing on their lunch menu me and the wife were there it's a
grilled cheese candy bacon sandwich with
a tomato soup dipping side it's so good oh my god no way yeah we were there like a couple we went to
get my to get santa pictures with my kid and we had lunch after yeah grilled cheese candied bacon
tomato soup on the lunch menu so you got to be there before four okay i'm gonna give them a call
and be like how come i didn't get a heads up on this one so good dude so good sounds delicious well since we're on the food topic just real quick
now this is not official official but another woody show meetup this will be the first one of
2025 it is going to be at sonic at santa fe springs now this is a grand opening of the sonic
now this is not official official actually because you know you got to sign off on permits and so please go to the Woody show website and click on events or keep track of
our social media and then you'll know it's official now Tyler was very vocal about this
because it came up before we started recording and he got all excited now let's see if he can
keep that excitement when we talk about it again now have you been tracking this this opening because
yeah you started going off yeah so i have been tracking this opening of this whole little thing
that they're doing right there i take that's technically right off of florence and i take
that way to and from work three four times a week so i've been slowly tracking the construction
of like agent he's yeah he's an FBI agent.
Yeah, dude.
He's staring out the window every time I was waiting to and from work with his mouth dropped
drooling like, oh, yeah, sonic.
I'm not even going to lie.
So this area had first gotten fenced off like a year ago.
It had been empty forever, dude, like for literal years.
So I'm just like, okay.
Oh, you know what?
You're right.
You did bring this up on the pod before.
Yeah, I brought it up a while back.
So yeah, this whole thing was fenced off and I'm like, okay, what is this going to be?
I looked it up, said it was going to be a Dave's hot chicken, which is also great.
And a Sonic.
And as soon as I saw the Sonic, I got super excited because there's the nearest one from
my place is like 25 minutes.
It's been kind of cool to see the
construction go up and up and up and then i got excited when i saw like they were putting the
the drive-thru kiosk in i was like okay that's pretty cool this now i'm like i know this is
where i park and they come to me on skates oh my god dude and then the other day dude like maybe
two weeks ago i looked up it was night the sign was on dude it was like oh yeah the
northern light and the foggiest night you've ever seen dude it's absolutely it was calling me home
like a siren in the night it's absolutely beautiful yeah literally it's beautiful i was
i was so stoked dude i love sonic i'm so happy now a couple things if the event does happen
on this grand opening does tyler show up and do we get him into roller skates?
First off, no.
No roller skates.
Like, okay, that's a funny thing.
I am terrified.
And I think I've told Eric this before.
I am terrified of ice skating or any type of skating because I have really bad knees.
I am terrified that I will shred my knees apart, dude.
Like, I just won't do it.
So surprising.
Yeah.
So surprising. So, no, I will not be in roller skates. Either way, I may attend. that i will shut my knees apart dude like i just won't do it so surprising yeah so surprising so
no i will not be in roller skates either way i may attend all right well we'll like roll you around
in a wagon since you can't be on roller skates i don't like the sound of that so no but uh thank
you to everybody i mean we talked about it on the last pod. It was hell week. I did, what, like five different appearances.
Bort, you joined me on two or three of them.
Yeah, that included a trip to LAX and a trip to John Wayne for me and Menace both.
Just flying in and out of different cities all week long.
I mean, it felt really good to do one back in my hometown of the San Francisco Bay Area, Palo Alto.
You look at my social media, people showed up and showed out.
And again, we haven't been on the air, the Woody Show,
probably for over 15, 16 years now.
And people still came out and still listen to the podcast every single day
and listen to What's New Pod.
It's crazy.
Yeah, and the Compton event had a really good turnout,
but the top turnout of all, man, was the Pyology at Irvine Spectrum.
It was so massive, you guys.
The line was stretching down the Irvine Spectrum and was wrapping around.
There were so many people there, and thank you to everybody that came out to that.
That's been the thing with our last few meetups is that everybody's been dope.
Everyone's been cool.
Lots of new faces.
Really cool.
Lots of old faces, but a lot of just great listeners and a lot of people to listen to
West New Pods.
It was great.
Yeah, there was an owner of a biology that just happened to be there from Orlando.
And he's like, can you do this in Orlando?
And I'm like, well, I mean, I'm down.
I don't know how many listeners we have in Orlando, but if you're listening from Orlando or nearby,
hit us up, let us know.
WriteThePod at gmail.com.
We'll come out and hang out.
You know what I should have did?
I should have did a Hawaii meetup
for our station out here, Star 99.1.
I just didn't think that far ahead.
I didn't even think about how I was leaving for Hawaii
that week.
I woke up the next day.
I'm like, oh yeah, I'm leaving for Hawaii right now.
And by the way, Waikiki,
I haven't been here for a number of years.
Waikiki, they did a total revamp of the downtown area.
I'm talking about a ton of new shops,
a bunch of new food halls,
a lot of shout outs to Japan.
Brett, I think you'd love it here.
The whole Japanese market.
I went to a cat cafe that's very popular in Japan.
You can see it on my social
media at Menace, M-E-N-A-C-E, but I couldn't believe how revamped Waikiki Beach has been
because I went to this one mall that I've been to before, but it was kind of boring, but now it has
like all these awesome shops and restaurants inside. I don't know what they did, but it's
awesome. I definitely suggest coming and visiting hawaii
i got my flight was like a hundred bucks on southwest southwest flies to hawaii now like
hundred bucks round trip was some points it was crazy that's sick so yeah and the hotels aren't
expensive either happy to see it and shout out to one of my favorite stores book off
that is in honolulu and uh i also spent over an hour at an Irvine
waiting for menace to get off a plane last week.
So double shout out to Book Off for entertaining me.
I got to go over to the big island like Eric.
Eric, you were at the big island at the Hilton, right?
Where you can swim with dolphins?
Yeah, we were in Kona.
Yeah, that's the one I've always wanted to stay at.
A lot of people don't talk about the big island.
It doesn't get a lot of shout outs
because it's very old school, traditional Hawaii. They say it's not super modern compared to honolulu which
is you know very touristy if you want to get like actual hawaiian experience but still have like a
city you go to the big island do you think that's correct eric uh yeah where we were staying there
was it was just resorts we were on the water uh we went to like a coffee farm it was like
basically in the hills and we took our rental car we drove like an hour to the other side of the island it was just resorts and there was
goats there it makes sense that you're going to go see a goat farm we're just goats on the side
of the road i was like what the hell anytime to go to hawaii man photos pop up on my phone
as like little memories that i'm like when can i get back to hawaii time to go dude i'm telling
you last night i went to a luau at alani resort and i was sitting next to these people and they
put me on game they said there's an app called chaka tours and you download they said it's like
nine bucks i know tyler nine dollars you're just gonna have to suck it up that's why you down
yeah but if you download it it works with your gps and it kind of just gives you all the local
spots to go and see what they have available but
um the food still on point at the Alani Luau if you want to go I suggest going salmon I had on my
little morning bagels freshest I've ever had the tuna I had oh my god we we went to Luau too it's
like like you know if you've been to Wingstop and you see those sauce bowls they mix the wings in
yeah they put out a bowl like it was like a buffet style luau full of tuna and at first i didn't realize what it was
because i've never seen that much fresh tuna like and they just had an ice cream scooper and it was
the best tuna i've ever had in my life i think we lost tyler i think he's uh passed out no no no i'm
still here i'm drooling because i love salmon and I love tuna.
Oh, yeah.
That reminds me of our Costco trip where Tyler saw them frying up a salmon patty and then went on a hunt by himself.
He disappeared trying to find this pack of salmon patties to buy.
Never found them.
I did find it.
I did buy it.
They were delicious.
Okay.
The next time you didn't buy it that time, though.
Well, it doesn't matter.
I still bought it anyway.
They were still delicious.
Can I go back to food halls for a minute now i haven't been to this one i don't know i have any view the west covina food hall that's called haven city market i think
they have one in another location yeah orange county yeah i've been there yeah i want to check
that out uh shout out to burning bridge brewing they're big woody show supporters so shout out
to them they have their own business if you go
to Haven City Market
check them out but do you guys want some
quick food news
and we also have
Randy oh Randy's here
hello Randall well
just in time for some food news
what no my cat's making
all that noise in the background
Randy stops everything down and has a bunch of technical issues.
Well, that's actually why I told him to mute himself when he signed on until we went to him.
And that's why I was.
That was my cue to, how is this mic doing?
But yes, I'm ready for some food news, please.
Okay.
KFC is opening up a new location tomorrow that's focused on chicken tenders.
It's called Saucy tenders it's called saucy
and it's in orlando and they have 11 different sauces available now i've already tried this
because they were at chain fest if you don't know what chain is chain fest is um fast food
event company that elevates fast food but they had saucy out at their event so i got to try it
and guess what guys their signature And guess what, guys?
Their signature sauce, guess what it tastes like?
Let's see if you can figure it out.
It's a chicken tender spot that's focused on sauces.
What do you think their main sauce tastes like?
It's got to be either buffalo or what I hope, honey mustard,
because I love honey mustard.
No, you're thinking too deep.
It tastes like Raising Cane sauce.
Ooh.
Oh, okay. was no you're thinking too deep it tastes like a raisin cane sauce oh okay right tender a tender focus spot made by kfc with a bunch of sauces it tastes like raisin cane sauce now that was just
one of many but their signature sauce kind of tasted like raisin canes now moving on over to
taco bell check this out they have already opened their own beverage focus spot in chula vista california called live
moss cafe sounds a lot like cosmix from mcdonald's which i've tried which is also a lot like dutch
bros now what i'm asking is are we in our fast food era of like kind of like radio somebody has
one good idea and then suddenly just spreads everywhere i don't see this as a bad thing for any of us though i think this only just makes us happier yeah as the consumer i don't
think anything's bad i'm more the merrier but it's funny to see all these people like they'll see one
thing pop off like raising canes or they'll see like dutch bros pop off and then everybody makes
their own version fast food wars yeah fast food wars and i'm here for it yes now that's not even
the craziest thing that people
are talking about when it comes to taco bell who was the first to put in the chat the taco bell
chicken nuggets i think that was me yeah and to my surprise you already knew i already had it now i
think tyler didn't she have something to say about it tyler uh no i barely heard about this like not
even joking the other day and i am very I mean, everybody goes crazy that they have fries and now they have chicken nuggets.
Now, I did already try these at the Taco Bell event called the Taco Bell Live Moss Live event that happened at the last Super Bowl.
Now, they're going to actually do this event again, but in Hollywood, late January 28th.
So not around the Super Bowl this time around,
but that's where they do a launch.
It kind of looks like an Apple keynote
and they just tell you every single item
that they're going to be launching this upcoming year.
And at the end, if you're at this event,
you get to try them.
So I've already got to try these nuggets.
They have different sauces like honey mustard,
ranch, and their own bell sauce.
And they weren't bad.
It's just funny to think about. Like us, we've gone to to like d23 so we've been in one of these kind of like convention style
settings where they reveal things and it's like just a room full of people just super hyped for
literally they could say any combination of words and they're gonna go nuts and i just picture a
room full of people it's like and to top it all off. Coming 2025. Chicken nuggets. Dude.
Freaking chicken nuggets.
What are you doing?
Dude, people are going wild, man.
Tyler's doing it at home, watching the videos anyways.
So, yeah, of course he'd have a room full. I may have Hulk Hogan ripped my shirt off, dude.
It was amazing.
We need that as a video.
The last time that they did this was around the Super Bowl, but this time they're not going to do it.
Speaking about football and the Super Bowl and all that kind of stuff now i did see on social media eric
that the baby went to his first game how was that for him he was great honestly took a nap uh
anytime you can fall asleep it's a good time uh no we got so we got hooked up with the friend
a family friend so we sat in the nike suite oh sweet decent seats um that was really the only way he was going to go like we're not going to sit sat in the Nike suite. Oh, sweet. Decent seats.
That was really the only way he was going to go.
Like, we're not going to sit up in the 500s and have him on our lap the whole time.
So we had a nice little area, our own bathroom for him.
But the game was cool.
A lot of points they lost.
So the Rams ruined my son's first football game.
Oh, no.
But no, it was cool, man.
It was dope.
It was as easy as we could have hoped it would be.
And then I went to work after.
We're very fortunate to be able to get into suites. But I just talking to my sister the other day and i was like yeah get to
sofi stadium you know she lives in san francisco it's really easy to get to sofi stadium it's right
next to lax you just land you'll be there an hour if you're coming from the bay area and she's like
i'll go but i have to stay in a suite not even being bougieie. She was just like, I mean, that's a better situation
if you're bringing a baby and you're trying to go to a game.
Yeah, 110%.
There's no way I would have taken him to go sit in my lap
when I got Rando and Randerson next to me sitting there
drinking a beer or something.
Yeah, screaming Rams house.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Get a better plug, guys.
It's so annoying.
We did wear little little like we've
taken him to like a concert at the park and you know there's a lot of speakers didn't really
really wasn't worried about the noise levels for his little ears at that point i told my wife like
i've been to rams games we need to get headphones for him because every 10 seconds i was explaining
to her when we got to our seats was like it's a good thing we have the headphones because
whose house rams house and as i'm saying that, it echoes through the SoFi Stadium.
And she's like, yeah, it's a good thing.
But yeah, he fell asleep before kickoff in my lap.
So he was asleep for the first quarter, which was nice.
I like that you got the Buffalo hat on him.
That's a good photo right there.
It's in his blood, man.
You know me.
I'm a hat guy.
Leanne likes wearing beanies.
So a lot of babies don't like stuff on their heads.
He wears beanies all the time. He wears hoods. hoods he was cool with the headphones left them on his head so now
are you ready for the Super Bowl uh yeah it's that time of year man you gotta work it's one of those
things where once like Thanksgiving hits working at the NFL it's just a tidal wave of games because
games can start getting sprinkled in weird spots like this week we got saturday sunday christmas thursday
sunday it's just it's a blur of games once and then you kind of realize oh it's all wrapping up
and i'm in meetings planning out what we're doing for the super bowl i'll be there yeah and then you
know we got radio row the week before super bowl so we'll be in new orleans new orleans we'll be
in new orleans for um the week before before. Yeah, it's coming to an end
quickly. Is it very much the opposite of what
you used to have here where you'd get to Christmas
and go, okay, this is downtime now.
Once we get past the grind and now it's flipped
of, oh crap, it's Christmas.
Yes, very much so. It's like all of a sudden
there's just way more stuff and way more
important things and games mean more and more
people are watching and more people are listening.
I have a countdown on my fridge that I start every season starts at 22 22 weeks until I get
Sunday's off again we're down to seven boys so close now I'm just asking can I still crash in
your hotel room during Super Bowl is that okay yeah I'll be there there'll be a room where I
told you if you get there you can you can snuggle with me they did announce the shack party but they haven't announced the gronk party yet which is a little concerning to me no
gronk was at sofa last night the la bull i kind of forgot the game was going on i was leaving work a
little late and then i heard cheering i'm like what the hell and i was like oh that's right his
um his his sponsored his hosted bowl game was last night at sofi stadium okay then that probably
makes sense he probably didn't announce the gronk party because he didn't want to overshadow this thing maybe yeah that does make
a lot of sense so speaking of that la bowl real quick i went to cause him for raiders falcons on
monday night and i ended up getting a ga ticket which was great because you know you can like get
standing room by the dome and everything i'm like like, all right, cool. Just show up early enough for that.
So I show up and I see these buses driving by and they all say UNLV.
UNLV was one of the teams playing.
So I'm like, all right, cool.
So we get inside Cosm and we figure out real quickly that all the standing room by the
dome is taken, which no problem.
That's fine.
So about halfway through my bartender says, oh yeah, they sold out all of
most of the GA to cause them this morning. Both UNLV and Cal are here. And I look around,
biggest dudes you've ever seen just wearing gray track suits and just eating as much as they can
eat. The pre-bowl ceremonies are always really cool. My buddy who played at Washington State,
he got to go to the Alamo Bowl and both teams teams are in the same like banquet hall sort of thing they have to like
play games and sort of like basically talk smack about each other and then they get like cool
little gift bags depending on the bowl and stuff so it's a weird thing that you don't really see
because you don't see the the pre-game stuff so that's cool that you saw that I mean going to the
LA Bowl people kind of poke fun at these earlier bowl games. But UNLV and Cal made out.
They go to Cosm.
And like you said, other schools get put in a banquet hall in probably like the Marriott next door.
Like Cal and UNLV go to Cosm and watch Monday Night Football.
There's like two bowl games that always every year blow me away.
Because there's one like the one in Hawaii.
And then I think there's one in like the Bahamas.
It's like imagine being part of like some whatever Sunbelt team.
And you're like, yo, we get to go to the Bahamas.
Yeah, you went nine and eight.
But hey, you go to the Bahamas for a week.
Yeah, enjoy.
Yeah, I went to cause them to kill time before my event.
My last one in El Segundo at Rock and Brews.
I went to cause them to check out the Cowboys Carolina game.
It was mostly just Cowboys fans. And they were loving it because I don't know. I went to cause them to check out the Cowboys Carolina game. It was mostly just
Cowboys fans and they were loving it because I don't know, I had to leave early. Who ended up
winning that game? Do you remember? Oh, Dallas ended up killing him. Oh yeah. It was Dallas,
Carolina. I wasn't even close. I did want to talk a little bit about video games, but speaking of
video games real quick, movies out tomorrow, Sonic 3. Are we here here for it i have yet to see the previous two first it
looks really cool first one is really enjoyable the second one is even better third one is gonna
crush it yeah i love these movies man did you see that the rock he broke some streaming record with
red one i didn't realize red one was gonna be available so quickly on amazon now if you don't
know it's his christmas movie it was just in theaters like a week or two ago or it's probably
still in theaters right now but within 24 hours it got streamed over 50 million times i think they're
trying to hedge that because didn't it not do too good in theaters yeah it bombed it was pretty bad
oh it did yeah i think yeah i think they're like hey let's let's streamline this and get it out
before christmas because me and my wife plan on watching it i think that's probably what they
realize hey it's christmas time let's try to cover some losses yeah i think i saw something about it
not do maybe just the debut weekend but um yeah maybe it came out too early and didn't go up
against like some huge movies like wicked and around the same time or something like that
yeah it went up around the same time as like wicked and gladiator 2 oh yeah then it but it got shafted by that then like because the cast looks
so good the premise of it looks fun there's no way it could be a terrible movie it looks like
it'll be a really fun movie but sometimes with those debut weekends if you're slammed on all
ends dude just go video on demand that was like the old blockbuster trick like hey it's gonna be
out on vhs really quickly a blockbuster and. Like, hey, it's going to be out on VHS really quickly at Blockbuster,
and everyone's going to rent it, and we'll recoup our money.
Yeah, like if these movies don't do well,
why don't just sell it to Amazon right away and get it up on demand?
That would be smart.
I don't know if you guys can hear the shower,
but Spicy Nacho just jumped in the shower.
I am in Honolulu, Hawaii, Waikiki Beach.
It is still dark here.
You guys, what is about 8 a.m. for you back home.
The time shift is so weird.
It's weird going west.
Living in California, you can never really go west.
So you're always losing time when you go travel.
Let's talk about podcasting in different places.
You're my baby now.
Austin doesn't like it either.
Yeah, I'm having flashbacks to COVID times
when we were all just in different rooms and different places. But no, it's weird. It's weird going west
from California because you never really have a chance to go west. So when we went to Hawaii for
our honeymoon, it was the same deal. We're just like, oh, we're landing like and only losing an
hour of time. I know it sucks because there's so many events that happen on the East Coast
that I would love to go to on a Fridayiday but i the time just never works out because
it's so far ahead dude when i come home from super bowl so it's like company coordinated travel so
they pick a return flight 6 a.m return flight i'm like oh my god but i land at like 7 a.m la time so
it's like nice i have the full day but but you're burnt yeah day after super bowl and it's like
usually go for a nightcap after and it's's like, oh, 6 a.m.
It looks like I'm not sleeping.
Going back to WWE stuff, WWE Monday Night Raw is happening at the Intuit Dome January 6th.
Wrestling Renaissance coming at you.
Tyler's waving the flag of WWE and WWE live events being on Netflix.
Like, I know we've had football,
we've had our sporting events,
but this will change so much more going forward.
Yeah, because it goes worldwide live, right?
Exactly.
It's live streaming worldwide, more countries.
And also, do you really even need cable after that?
To be honest, I am dropping YouTube TV,
which I absolutely love.
It just, did you see the announcement of hiking in another time yeah we had we had this had this conversation in our group
chat with me randy and tyler it's like oh i'm going back to cable i'm like everybody laughed
at me when i never left cable and look who's coming crawling back look at eric's the smartest
as always or just i'm just an old man and never understood what cord cutting was let's go with that one
I am like I don't watch YouTube TV enough to spend that much a month on it over it
I use Hulu and Netflix and then I have Amazon and then Pluto TV is just great and then good old-fashioned
Social media, I feel like you know, you're watching social media more than television
Yeah
Pluto and 2b are
always reliable for the free content that they could have and just going to to binge watch like
as if you were gonna go watch cable tv and just leave the channel on you know streaming the same
show for six hours but all i'm really using is disney plus so i could justify that easily for
star wars and everything there and lately man i think i'm gonna cancel netflix because crunchy
roll is getting all of my attention right now oh the other thing that's happening at into a dome the week after
wwe is ufc 311 and myself and morgan we already got approved to do media so it's been fun hanging
around these fighters dude these fighters are like following us online now rampage was like
liking one of my posts about raising canes
like all kinds of crazy stuff so you can get a sit down with rampage or just five minutes with him
and a mic in front of his face you're gonna get something worth it he is hilarious i think we can
make that happen so it's yeah it's been really cool being a part of this when it comes to the
usc stuff i i kind of had to talk with morgan go, look, when it comes to UFC, I think this should just be all you.
I'm just going to be here to assist you.
So moving forward, you're not going to see me on camera when it comes to that stuff.
But the Power Slap stuff, I want to be a part of because I love it so much.
I mean, the guys that are in Power Slap are just such a cast of characters it just like it's just like some random bartenders or
like guys some of the guys look like they work at gamestop and then they do the power slap thing
and it's fun talking to them but like when it comes to talking to the ufc guys you're like you
really got to know your stuff you have to know like all the technical terms and things like that
so i don't want to be a poser i just want want to be a watcher. Yeah, not much to go into breaking down PowerSnap. No, no, it's just fun. If PowerSnap comes to town or you have a chance to watch
PowerSnap, go do it. It is super fun. Now. All right. Here's the thing. I have to get out here

I don't know where, but I'm going to hang out with him on Saturday.
And you know Mr. Grimace is going to know a good local spot to go have lunch.
Oh, for sure. He sent me an itinerary when me and my wife went for my honeymoon.
I was like, hey, thanks, man.
But I don't think we're going to be leaving the resort too much.
But he knows the spots.
Oh, for sure.

Still got to do my holiday shopping.
I haven't had a chance to do
that at all been way too busy well you haven't had time between no plane and going to no i haven't
going to 75 different cities in the last week and a half i have been buying a lot of ornaments though
i don't know what's wrong with me a lot of ornaments from all my visits do you know what
i'm gonna i'm gonna be real i i think i'm slowly turning into an ornament guy and it's kind of annoying.
Dude, so I'm not even kidding. So I now have two Bucky's ornaments on the tree.
There's an Xbox controller ornament on the tree and I'm so bummed I should have just bought it.
So I was at Frank and Son's the other day doing a little bit of Christmasmas shopping they had a dodgers hot dog ornament and
it's like you know just the hot dog mascot with the smile and the eyeballs and everything i should
have bought it i didn't buy it you didn't cop it no no i i was there for gifts and i'm like i'm not
here for myself i'm here for everybody else and i left and as soon as i got home i'm like i should
have bought it that was dumb but why would you buy dodgers stuff tyler yeah uh because i am a fan
now eric we know this we have discussed this
at lake look i didn't go to the parade and drink 10 a.m beers to not because they're the fan okay
don't give me that because he's a die-hard fan eric been through the thick and thin of it all
thank you for recognizing dude even in waikiki beach you know there's a lot of japanese influence
here and you see otani everywhere oh real quick speaking of the dodgers uh my brother was at disneyland yesterday
met freddie freeman just ran into him nicest dude yeah i said nice guy his family was really chill
he's like dude and he's really tall like well yeah dude look at him he's really he's a giraffe
running around the bases out there speaking of design we're taking we're taking austin on
saturday for his first disneyland trip so first time with a stroller and a child and he's
out here yeah we'll see how that goes he's gonna be on the gram yeah oh yeah you're gonna get all
his holiday photos his first so that's really cool this dude has done uh a football game i know he's
been on a couple he met santa already dude austin's just living life dude big money i know he's vib
a nike suite you know yeah i gotta i gotta take him down he's gotta get up with the you know the
norms every now and then yeah he has to humble himself dude it's gonna be absolutely it's gonna
be absolutely hilarious if he has a sibling and you guys are like nah we're not doing any of that
again yeah i gotta stay tight with all these friends of ours dude i hear that happens though like the first child gets all this vip
stuff and then the second one gets all this hand-me-down stuff well it's funny you say that
because like when we were younger we obviously had passes family passes for like huge large chunks of
my life and then me my wife we lived in northridge we didn't have ours and my mom and sister had their
passes for a lot
longer they think they still do um so my my niece she's older than my nephew so when she was young
they were taking her to Disneyland all the time you know because they still had passes my mom was
younger more free time for my sister my nephew who's like two and a half years younger than my
niece not as many Disney photos when with a child weird you know Spicey Nacho talks about all the
time that when her brother was born suddenly he got know spicy nacho talks about all the time that when her
brother was born suddenly he got all these different jordans and all these you know really
nice shoes when she had all these hand-me-downs when she was growing up so it does happen in
reverse as well all right uh who else do we got a shout out um shout out to man kim they're a band
go see them live if you see them on a music festival lineup or just check out their music
just go mankim.com or stream them wherever you find music just stream matt and kim
shout out to the sex with emily podcast go to sexwithemily.com or follow her on instagram
at sex with emily or tiktok again at sex with emily and big shout out to the mothership the
woody show monday through friday on the iheart radio app now there was a huge revamp of the
iheart radio app just app, just FYI.
I'm just putting it out there, people.
If you have not looked, they have this new preset buttons that are on there.
You're going to see them when you open up the app on the very top,
and you can just put your presets.
So when you open it, you'll have all your favorites right there,
right on the home screen.
So it's really cool.
So what you're going to do is search the Woody Show, say add to preset,
and then you're going to go back, and then you're going to search Menace, and then what's new pod is going to do is search the Woody show, say add to preset, and then you're going to go back and then you're going to search menace.
And then what's new pod is going to show up there.
And then you're going to say add to resets.
And then after that, add whatever you want.
But it makes it super convenient now.
And I'm loving the new revamp of the iHeartRadio app.
It's really, really good.
Now, we would love to see you if this event happens.
Please keep an eye on our social media and go to the Woody show dot com.
The new sonic happening
in santa fe springs myself and board are gonna be there all right eric t i have to say before we
leave uh nothing another year wrapping up crazy that we've been doing this for this long i remember
the early days of standing in the same studio with you guys after a day of work and the covid
now we're all over this and now we're all over the place. I usually say how much I miss Eric,
but during the holiday season when I'm here by myself,
I very much miss you even more.
We'd make out while everybody was gone.
Hell yeah, bro.
Tyler, do you have anything to say before we leave?
Two things real quick.
Number one, just saw the new movie Carry On on Netflix with Taron Edgerton and Jason Bateman.
Great movie that is better than it has any right to be.
So definitely check that out, number one.
Number two, I have a Randy story since he stepped out to, I don't know, take care of his cats or something.
He had a good work.
Yes, there it is.
The classic work excuse.
But yeah.
I have a little bit of a Randy story.
He texted me last night.
This is quote from the text.
I was at a Chinese buffet thing with my girlfriend's family and ate what I thought was a soft shell crab.
Turned out it was a hard shell crab that had been deep fried.
I just assumed it had a little extra crunch.
Incorrect.
I ate a whole ass hard shell crab minus
the claws wow and this dude wonders how he gets stomach bugs i know dude uh yeah other than that
no merry christmas happy news everybody oh the falcons made a quarterback change thank god forgot
about that so oh they did i didn't even hear about that cousins is gone
penix is here apparently he found out the news when he was like in line for a costco hot dog so
he just like me and uh yeah that's uh that's pretty much it like i said merry christmas happy
news everybody so cousins gets to sit on the sidelines and just get paid 100 million dollars
essentially yeah but you can tell from the way he's reacting to it like he's disappointed he
understood but he's disappointed and i think he's bummed that he couldn't play better the
quest yeah that was not the question he got guaranteed 90 mil to sit on the bench now or
be traded in the offseason yeah i'm trying to buy that dude i'm trying to bypass that because i
don't want my team to look bad so yeah i know more than they already do i know you got to catch a
bird menace but i don't want to drill this too much longer yeah and i was wasn't gonna bring it up
during the cosmic top but i figured we're far enough removed from it tyler was very um you've
you've got you've been on the side of these texts when the falcons aren't playing well and he was
talking about you know looking over the cosmic ledge on that rooftop bar and maybe taking a walk
it was uh hey you know what this you know what the funny thing is the
falcons won that game too which is even funnier yeah so but like no that game was awful to watch
dude that was a horrid oh god and you know what the funny thing is that was real quick that was
the game that i was supposed to be in vegas for but i canceled the vegas trip because i ended up
getting the new car and i I'm so glad I did.
If I would have went to Vegas to see that train wreck of a win live, I would have lost my ish.
Like, I paid all this money to watch this.
Oh, my God.
So glad I canceled that.
All right.
Wait.
Final question, though.
I mean, if you're guaranteed $90 million and you already have hundreds of millions of dollars do
you like try to go get traded and be on a different team i say just sit it out you're done i know
maybe your ego says like hey i want to go out with a couple wins but dude just take the 90 million
and just call it a day man so there are a couple parameters around the contract but basically if he wants to get most of the most
out of his contract he he would want to be traded i think that's what yeah he'll be on another team
somewhere next year for sure yeah i know what he's gonna take him he was good back in the day there'll
be one more stop where a coach would be like oh i can fix him and there's no good quarterbacks coming
out of the colleges here outside of one so he'll get another contract and then probably fade away and probably be that story where it's like you
stuck around two years too long after your achilles blew up yeah yeah but i can see uh
collect a hundred million yeah i could see the raiders doing it i could see the steelers doing
it and maybe the browns yeah money well spent huh tyler oh yeah yeah i'd say so i say that as i'm
crying on the inside.
Like, you know that old school meme where it has, like, a smile and the guy behind is just, like, seething mad?
Yeah, that's me.
Yeah, we're in a mask.
Well, Brad, do you have anything quickly to say before we leave?
I really got to go catch this flight.
Yeah, just a quick thank you to everyone that donated to the LA Guinea Pig Rescue based on my Instagram video and post.
And I'm still doing it right now.
So obviously for the Employee of the Month plaque, somebody's going to get it.
But you can donate to LA Guinea Pig Rescue anytime.
There was an outstanding amount of people that came out.
So thank you for that.
And also, in case we don't podcast, happy birthday to Eric and Tyler.
Aw, thank you.
You guys, little Christmas birthday boys.
The forgotten birthdays.
So shout out to both of you.
Happy birthday to you both.
And hopefully I can swing by both of your places in the next week or so.
All right.
Please rate and review this podcast wherever you listen to podcasts.
And shoot us a note.
Writethepod at gmail.com.
We'll see you soon.
Hey, who's eating the mic?
Austin.
Nice.
Nice.
Well, I mean, it's really a chew toy.
Yeah.
And it doesn't have an electrical current, so it'll be fine.
That's true.
Good point.
Tyler, what was your video game hours that you played last week?
The end of the year one?
What was the total?
Because I just got my Nintendo end of the year recap, and I was a little surprised by it.
So I wanted to see if I was as bad as you or not i
don't think so but i was playing three pokemon games this year i don't know how you don't have
this on top of your head you have the randomest facts of the nfl i want to update it because
i've been playing obviously since i well no dude so i need the up to date one i've been playing the
marvel rivals game dude that game's fun this doesn't even include PlayStation, which I will look up in a second.
Oh, my God.
On Xbox alone, 854 hours when divided by 24 is 35.5 days.
Never mind.
Never mind.
I'm not as bad as you whatsoever at all.
I literally played 137 hours just this year on three Pokemon games.
And I was like, oh, God, that sounds like so much.
Never mind.
I feel great.
That's rookie numbers.
Yeah.
In any aspect of life, usually, if you want to feel better about yourself,
just ask Tyler about the same thing.
Ah, okay, cool.
So I spent an additional 250 days on, or 250 hours, I'm sorry.
Let me clarify that real quick.
Spent an additional 250 hours on PlayStationstation so add up the two totals
we're looking at 1104 divide that by 24 46 days holy dude i mean if you would like to keep all
this in the pod as like you know a little bonus thing but yeah 46 days between xbox and playstation
that's why i'm game a lot that's why i'm still recording before I send this over to him.
Oh, damn.
Okay.
Oh, you got me.
Oh, look at that.
You got me.
What's new?
What's new with Menace? Outro Music
