What's new? What's New with Menace? What's up, everybody, and welcome to another edition of What's New Pod. I'm Menace. I'm joined by Bort, a.k. Brett. He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the Woody Show morning show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on the Woody Show podcast. We are joined today by Julianne, who's coming to us live from Covina, California. No one else.

We're doing a really quick late. recording today. So a lot of people are unavailable for the pod. And we are currently getting ready for the I Heart Radio Festival that's happening this weekend in Las Vegas, which is going to be so much fun because even if you're not going to be in Vegas, you can watch it. You can watch it on Hulu or if you're in Vegas, you don't have tickets. You can either buy some last minute tickets or go outside the T-Mobile arena where we set up this entire village. And I don't even know if I'm supposed to say this or not, but I'll just say it anyways. Diplo is going to be DJing outside in the village.

Oh, nice. I believe on Friday or Saturday. Just pay attention to the IHeart Radio, Instagram account, Twitter account, and they'll let you know when he's DJing. And I know another performer is going to be coming out as well. I don't remember who that is. People don't know. Diplo used to have a show on Alt-987, and our old program director, Mike the show killer,

drove Diplo so crazy. that Diplo quit and yeah this is true story so i when i met diplo for the very first time i went to this like random secret party and it was diplo and it was scrylix and they have a group called jack you right yeah and i was talking to scrylix not the name drop but he used to be in like a screamo band yeah and my friends used to tour with them so we have mutual friends right very nice guy Diplo, always a nice guy. I've met him multiple times. But the very first time I met Diplo, I'm new to Los Angeles.

I just got a job at Alt 9887. I knew that Diplo used to have a show on Alt 987. And I go, hey, man, nice to meet you, blah, blah. Dude, your program director, man. It's crazy. He was micromanaging my show, so I had to stop. And I was like, dude, I feel you, Dippy, but I think he's doing all right without us. It was funny.

I remember doing the show I used to work on was the overnight show syndicated here on Alt-907 in L.A. And we used to do promos for Diplo, right? Yeah. Hey, coming up this time, Diplo, coming up in the morning, blah, blah, blah, before the Woody Show. And then even with the way he show, we were still doing that. But at one point, we were like, what happened to Diplo?

Yeah, where's he at? Is he gone? What happened? He's kind of well-known guy. But it lined up right with the time that Mike, the show killer, joined the station, because it was this huge thing with Mike coming in and us having to deal with him.

It was this big meeting, very weird. Let's take this super famous guy and make sure he's not on our radio station. But he's just not there before Mike was there. Because I remember, do you remember Julie Pilot? Yes. Yeah. Okay.

Very famous in the radio music industry. Yeah, she is. She's awesome. So my first year at IHeart, we all dressed up. It was Halloween time. And she was a ballerina. And she had me go against the Alt-98-7 wall and do a handstand and put my feet on the wall.

Oh, yeah, because that's like a major laser dance. So he's also part of another group called Major Laser. Right. Yeah. So she had me do that. And I have a picture of me, I think, doing it. So I'll send it to you guys see you can see. All right.

But did you have any interaction with Diplo? No. No, because I worked during the day and I don't remember what time I would leave, but I think it was before he would even be there. Because ladies love Diplo. I would think you would stick around. to hang out. I don't think I was a really big fan back then.

So I just knew of him and then that was it. Yeah, but now, what do you think? Yeah, it's not my type of music, you know? Yeah, boy, he can get you into stagecoach. He has his own tent at stagecoach now. Oh, see, I didn't know that. Now I love him. Now I want his number.

Oh, my God. That was a Tyler response right there. What? Hold on. I can get it through for free. Speaking of Tyler, I want to mention Tyler. Real quick, though. I will be at Lazy Dog in Downey Thursday, September 25th from 430 to 630 doing a bunch of

So, Tyler, like, how much was he hammering me all day? Like, when are we going to get there? When are we going to do this?

Like, he was really into it, right? No, he wasn't hammering you all day. He was hammering you for weeks. For weeks, yeah. It was weeks. And he was even asking me questions. I'm like, I don't, A, I don't know what you're talking about. And B, I have no idea, man.

Yeah. Like, I don't know what's going on. This is the best part. Yeah. He literally said to us, oh, I don't know if I could podcast on Friday. So you can't podcast on Friday with the rest of us to go to Disney with Menace. Well, yeah. Isn't Menace also going to Disney with you that you just said?

Oh, that's right. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, I mean, well, it's like, I. I'm also going to be tired because I've got work. I'm like, okay, here we go. Okay. So I'm glad you brought that up. So we're at Disney and we're doing a bunch of cool stuff.

We get invited Tyler and I to a private club at Disney, right? Yeah. I'll just say that. So we're hanging out there for a long time. Then we get out of the club and then we get to meet up with some other people and they say, hey, it's somebody's birthday. We're going to go to the car's ride. I'll tell you this, Tyler knows people that works at the cars ride, right?

He's well informed, yes. So he goes, oh, yeah, like, let's walk on over. So we walk on over to the cars ride. This guy who always tells us how he's so plugged in about hearing about the car's ride forgets that the car's ride is being revamped right now for months. So he let this whole group of people walk all the way across the entire park and it's closed it gets better not a big deal it's california venture there's plenty of rides there's dizzoland tons of stuff right it's close all right so we said you know what we're going to go gardens to the galaxy

so we're walking over there and tyler's like well i'm not going to go on the garden you know he's afraid of that kind of stuff right yeah i'm not going to go on guardians the galaxy i'm just going to wait outside for you and then we'll get more content we get to guardians the galaxy and suddenly his story changes guys hey you know what i got to go i got to work really early in the morning morning, I should get home and go to sleep. When in your life has Tyler ever been a responsible person to say, I need to get some rest and not burn himself into the ground? Whenever. Never. Right? Whenever. He'll be there on time. That doesn't mean that he didn't stay up the entire night, out of bar, drink. Yeah, yeah. He'll show up. He'll do his job, right? But when has he

ever been a responsible person like that? And I thought to myself, oh, he's totally ditching me right now to go hang out with some chick. That's what I thought of my head. Didn't tell him that. I go, all right. Fast forward, Julianne. We start talking about dating on the, on the Woody show, right? And we started talking about like Bumble and Tinder and all that kind of stuff.

And then we brought up Tyler saying, oh, aren't you on Bumble and Tinder and all this kind of stuff? And he goes, oh, no. Actually, I've been hanging out with this chick for like a couple weeks. I haven't been on these, right? So he's been doing this podcast for a couple of. weeks never mentioned that he was hanging out with this chick right um he actually did mention it to me personally personally never on a pot never on a pot no no never on the pot but he was pretty much put

on the spot though on the woody show because i'm sure this chick listens and he's like he can't say oh yeah i'm all up on tinder and bumble i can confirm i have heard she does listen to yeah see so then i called him out i'm like oh see i knew he He left me the other day to go hang out with some chick, which I don't mind. Look, dude, if you want to do it, just don't lie to me and pretend you're going to be a responsible person. Oh, I got to get some winks in before I go to work, dude. I know you're lying. Tyler is.

Maybe he meant some pumps in. You know this. How accommodating have I always been when it comes to Tyler and his dating life? Have I ever been a hater? Have I ever thrown him under the bus on this stuff ever? No. So why is he lying to me about this? Because it's literally what I've been telling you and what I've been preaching and hating on and calling him out this entire time.

Tyler always has to be sketchy, weird under the radar Tyler because he wants no one to call him out on anything. But he's always pulling some weird quirky as master plan to hang out with some girl at some event or some weird way to make it work best for him. Well, why, bro? At the detriment of the other people around him. I'm not saying it's not a good thing for him to hang out with the person that he likes. I want him. I want him to hang out with something like this. I heard she has a good job too.

So I support that. She does have a good job. Right. I think it's just because he doesn't know if it's going to be that serious or not because it is kind of fresh. So he doesn't want to like say something to you. And then you ask about just like a follow up about it. And then boom, he's not talking to her anymore. Well, it's me.

Again, the guy this. been the most commenting that does not like make fun of them on that kind of no no right see but he doesn't think you're going to make fun of him he just doesn't want like one day he's talking about this girl and then like the next week you know they're not talking it's just embarrassing sometimes for certain people and i think it's embarrassing for him he's one of those people that get embarrassed by it on the contrary i have a completely different thought i think tyler thinks with below his waist constantly and he will burn his friends no matter what To get where he needs to get.

I told you. And he said on the Woody show, I was like, this is a guy that would drop his friends on a dime. And he has. He will hang out with some chick. He will burn you. And he doesn't mean to. That's just, oh, well, he probably does. But, you know, he's not thinking with his brain.

He's just not being straightforward with it. And here's the thing. Julianne is making the argument, which I could see. And maybe I probably agree with that, hey, I just recently started hanging out with this person. Why I'm going to just kind of like inform you? But dude, we're guys, Julianne. You act like one of the dudes, too, when it comes to this kind of is, like, all you got to say is, like, I'm going to go hang out with some chick. That's all the information that we need, right?

You don't need any, like, dirty details and, like, tell me everything about her. But apparently now, uh, I just got slipped a note here that you do know a little bit about her. And apparently she lives far. He always has to pick convenience. So this person lives far. Yeah. I mean, there's on California. and they're still nearby,

but they're a freaking drive. Really? Yeah, yeah. Found out this information yesterday afterwards. So I, Maness, I do have to confess, I did know that he was planning on hanging with something.

I didn't know when. I knew that he was planning on doing it afterwards. Really? Afterwards. I didn't know when everything was going on or when it was all ending. He said, you know, while I'm down there,

you know, I don't hang out. He was texting a lot when he was in that club with me. And that's the thing. When you see Tyler texting, pay attention to this. When he's texting and he's in the zone and he starts smiling to himself and he starts to almost laughing at his own head, that's when he's focused and he has a master plan about to happen. He should always regret not recording the pod with us. Oh, yeah.

Where is he? Oh, I got to get a nap, guys. I'm tired again. I thought he said that you could do it. I just drove 500 miles. Well, that's what he just said earlier. he's like, oh yeah, I can do it, but you know, I might need to get some, just call me, I'll wake up. Yeah.

I'll be accommodating, no big deal. So Tyler is actually telling me a little bit more about his personal life, but I have to promise that I won't share very many to little details. But the same thing with Tyler. I have to ask him all these extra questions because I genuinely want to know about his life. I want to help him in any way possible, but he reserves himself and he makes it so I have to start digging. And I'm like, what are you up to? there's a weird plan you're doing just tell me what it is and i'll stop get him in a car and have him drunk and he'll tell you everything oh i can't survive that i'll throw myself out of the car

that's how i learned so much about tyler and this girl you know you know what though like tyler has confided in me in the past about girls and i don't say a word to you guys because i don't i don't want anybody to feel like they can come to me and like say something and then I'm going to run my mouth. Yeah. So whenever he tells me anything, even if he says don't say anything, or he forgets to say that,

I still won't say anything. But because you guys are bringing it up, I feel like it's... Yeah, well, it was brought up on the Woody Show, so it's free game. If this was brought up off the air, we probably wouldn't have this discussion. Yes, exactly.

And also, Tyler went to the school of Randy, which is Randy would always go, oh, hey, guys, don't tell anybody. You're the only one I'm telling. He's the biggest mysterious guy. But then he'll tell seven different people. people, what's going on. Yeah.

And we're all like, do we all know? Same thing with Tyler. He's like, look, you're the only one I'm really telling you about this. Apparently not. Julianne knows everything. So, yeah, that's what's going on. He is releasing his video series of all the baseball parks. If you are really into baseball, check him out.

It's at Heavy T underscore on air. At Heavy T underscore on air. Can I make one comment about that? Yeah. I said to him, hey, Look, man, I've missed the first couple, and I meant to watch them. Can you send them in the group chat? So that way I know, and we can comment and, you know, react to it pretty quick.

Yeah. I said, oh, no, I don't want to be that guy. Uh, I don't, I don't want to pretty much ask you guys to, like, watch my stuff. And I'm like, uh, I do it all the time. I said that's what we're here to support each other. Yeah. I want to know what's going on. And so today he was like, what do you think?

I think I'm going to release video five a little late. And I'm like, I haven't watched video one yet Because you won't fucking tell me when it's there I don't want to be that guy So is he talking spec on me for asking you guys I'm like I need a support No, not you If you know how the algorithm works

You need people to like like your stuff And comment and repose right away No, it's not you I think this is where I will agree with Julian Tyler has some He has some weird overconfidence In many things he shouldn't But then he does have some weird

Insecurities where he's like I don't know I don't know if I want to make you Because maybe he's also worried that we're going to comment on it and say stupid things about him, like right away before it even, you know, anyone else could see it. But he's the worst at doing that. Thank you. I asked him to comment to help the algorithm.

And he puts the worst comments. And I have to get him back and be like, dude. Like, delete that. There was one. And try again. I'm not going to say where it was. But there was one where he said something about like either punching somebody in the face or killing them. But I went, oh.

Yes, yes, I know you're talking about. What are you doing? Enjoy that conversation later. It's because he's trying to be funny and he forgets his position, you know, in life and how he shouldn't be writing that, like, on social media. Oh, hey, go check out this new Arby's meal. Oh, I would murder somebody for that. He's like, oh, McDonald's is so much better. Yeah, yes, that's the type of dumb crap you would post.

He did that yesterday. Yeah. He's like, why would anyone ever thread anything with Violet? I'm like, I don't know. you're always saying i'm gonna murder somebody or i'm gonna kill somebody for something oh my god this guy you know one time i mean i've done it too on accident one time we're at a what do you show party and i was already a little tipsy and i told randy you you guys were endorsed by some i don't remember what some kind of energy drink yeah and uh i tell randy and i go hey go get me red bull

vodka and i have the mic in my hand and like you looked at me and you're like We're at the event We're at the Yes, I remember this I remember that I'm like So we were at an event That was sponsored by an energy drink

They put their names All over the entire venue And then Julianne on stage In the mic says Can you give me a Red Bull vodka? Yeah that's like being at a monster energy party That's covered in monster energy And then you're

You have the microphone And you tell the entire crowd That you want a Red Bull I learned my lesson, okay? I haven't done it since. Tyler keeps doing it. By the way, shout out to our friends at Monster Energy. We love you.

I know it's still up there. But I know it's a drunk podcast, and I'm in the back of the venue recording. You guys just watch this stage. I hear it. I just go, ooh. No. It's no. It's no.

It's nowhere. You weren't even on the show. Yeah, he was in the back. I was in the back. I was a part of this entire, well, because also, here's the other thing. That company, they had to cover my fridge up because I am friends with some people, Monster Energy. I have a Monster Energy fridge here. So they're like, we're going to need to cover this fridge. We're going to do it. I'm like, nope. I'll put a, you know, piece of cardboard over it for like your one picture you're taking. But yeah, no, I was there. I was in the back the room recording everything and

this is the infamous one that Eric was introduced to the show on the live podcast because he had just been hired. Tyler hadn't been hired yet. No, not even close. And he would, no, no, no, this was close. He was about to be hired and he was in the crowd

and there was a comment on stage made about him. Yeah, this infamous story, Julianne. He didn't like it and he wanted to talk to Woody, but he was obliterated. He didn't even know a point. planet he was on and he was trying

to get in the VIP. He was like, I need to talk to Woody. I'm like, nah, dude, not a good time right now. He left his crew seven people. He starts charging ahead. He's like, I need to get in there. I go, no, dude. Like, no, sorry, no more wristbands. Can't get you in. I'm like, this is not a good idea. You're like super wasted and you're trying to talk to Woody

and you're just about to start with us. Like, no, dude. You're not coming in the VIP. Get out of here. I got a text from Medist that says, yo, watch out for this guy. Yeah, he's a cycle. He writes crazy stuff on the internet. He says he's going to murder. And he tells you lies about his location.

Mania. It's okay, guys. Don't worry. I'm taking responsibility. And I'm adulting. I'm watching my money. Hold on. Let me go by 17 Lego sets.

Yeah. This has been talking trash behind Tyler. We all have our moments is all I was trying to say. Yeah. I know. He just has too many, too many moments. You know, that's funny is the moments with Tyler are almost a combination of Julianne and Randy. Yep.

It's Julianne with the intoxicated fun, which could be explosive at times. And then Randy with the constantly lying to us about everything and not telling us what's going on. Okay, at least I don't lie to you guys. That's better, right? Thank you. Thank you. That's something we could always count on. Julianne will always tell us the truth, even if we don't want to hear it.

yeah honesty is the best policy they say yeah can we peel back the curtain for one second oh okay it's been a goddamn week it has it's been like two goddamn weeks julian you're lucky you don't work here no more oh god why what is happening well it's just like corporate bull crap that you know you got to deal with same old same old yeah yeah i mean you used to work really on the corporate side a lot yeah before you joined us on the woody show and you you You've probably saw it all, like stuff you can't mention, but yeah. It's just the unnecessary drama, the overreaction, all kinds of crap like that. Oh, I used to see on-air personalities, like storm into my boss's office, yell, door slamming.

Like, oh, I saw lots. I mean, I still see that. Yeah. Not from our people, at least, but I still see that. Well, we're doing radio, guys. Come on. We're not in the military. This is not life or death.

My voice is the biggest voice. Yes. I command everybody. I'm important. I'm the captain. Anyways. I'm sorry, Diplo. Oh, dude.

I'm sorry to Diplo. And dude, speaking of Mike, show killer, again, like, and Woody went through this, too, of, you know, when we first moved to Los Angeles, Woody had a cake gig in St. Louis. I was, like, 16 years of radio in San Francisco. I knew everybody I can walk in any nightclub. I wanted to. I could go hang out with all these like cool tech billionaires, all this kind of stuff. And then I moved to Los Angeles and no one would return my call in Los Angeles. Right. And I'm trying to meet new people. Perfect example. Diplo hates my boss. I go to Coachella. You know,

when I lived in San Francisco, I had full access to Coachella. I could do whatever I want. Like artist pass. Go wherever I want. Go to Coachella when I moved to LA. Sorry, you got to buy your own ticket, right? Yeah. Fine. I get my own ticket. Then I see Jared Leto and I'm like, oh crap, it's Jared Littal. So I'm going to introduce myself. Hey, Jared, how are you doing? Nice to meet you. My name's Menace. I work on Alton 987. First words out of his mouth. Dude, what's up with your program director? Are you serious? Yes. Dude, it took years of being in Los Angeles for people to like give us any type of love on anything. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, brutal. Even in this own building. And Jaredetto, to be fair, has always been cool every single time. I met him. He was even cool after that. But the first words out of his mouth was like, what's up with your program director? Yeah. Not cool.

I'm flashing back to all the emails I used to get from Mike when I worked on my other show. And it was always like these giant paragraphs of why things happen and why isn't this done and this and this and I go Mike, the show airs in five. hours man I could do anything in 30 seconds come on we're you bitching about and writing these freaking like monologues and again I love him we all love him to death

I miss more I would I wish we were hanging out with him on a daily it would be awesome oh yeah I I legit was so happy when he came back into our atmosphere mm-hmm with stuff in Philadelphia and I was sad that he wasn't there because I do enjoy talk yeah Mike is super fun I know we like to make fun of him but love schools let it go. I love hanging out with them. I'm trying to get him to go on the country cruise with me. Yes.

So keep following me as I continue. on the quest this is going to take a while this sounds like maybe it's not that difficult guys this is freaking hard yeah this is a lot i'm literally using game boys nintendo dses nintendo switches my phone and about say a total 10 games not all of them are in each game
