Starting point is 00:02:04 What's up, everybody, and welcome to another edition of What's New Pod. We are joined today by my friends, like Bortz, aka Brett. He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the Woody Show, morning show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on the Woody Show podcast. It gets downloaded all over the world. I'm telling you, you should see the amount of countries that people download the Woody Show podcast. So thank you for that. We're also joined by Tyler in studio. I love this.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I love having you in studio. I love having you not have a second job because there's more time to hang out. Sure. We can go with that. I'm slightly struggling, but I'm glad you love it. As long as Metis is happy. As long as we get more Tyler, all good. No.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Well, well, for somebody. You know, I'm okay with it right now because Tyler's standing. I actually get to sit for once. This is great. Nice. Yes. Tyler's being our audio expert today behind the board. And we might be joined by Randy and
Starting point is 00:03:01 Julianne shortly. But real quick, a couple things. Coming up, Addison, Texas. Are you listening? It's near Dallas, Texas. I'm going to be at Lazy Dog Restaurant on Saturday, August 22nd, noon to 2 p.m. Come hang out. I'm going to have some giveaways for you.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It's going to be a little test run to see if you listeners that listen from Texas, which I know you do because I can see the downloads, come out and show out, and then maybe we can have big Woody Showout. event there and have everybody together. So I better see you as in Texas August 22nd. Do it. Now, for everybody in Los Angeles, Orange County, Brett and I are back at Dodgers Habit Home Base in Echo Park.
Starting point is 00:03:50 That's going to be happening at 4 p.m. again, August 26th. So put that down in your calendar. We're going to have more tickets for the Dodgers to give away. And, of course, we come loaded up with a bunch of prizes. So come on through to that. Those are the two main things going on right now. Also. That one's going to be fun, too, because it's the Dodgers versus the Braves.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Nice. You're going to be wrapping the Braves. You know what? I think I might inside of the Habit Burger, but once I leave, I probably have to take it off just a case. For sure. You know, I don't want to get jumped on my way out. Yeah, true that, true that. Now, real quick, just another reason why you should be joining my giveaway channel.
Starting point is 00:04:31 on my Instagram at Menace on Instagram. You'll see it. I'll say updates and giveaways. Join that channel because do we even talk about it on this podcast where I had the Buckees delivered from Arizona? Yes, I believe we did. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, because I did mention that I was doing that giveaway. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I gave away the Buckees wagon. Like I said, I would on my Instagram page. Now, Julianne, you just joined us right now. Hi, Julian. Hi, hello. I was going to give you the Buckees wagon, but you. You told me your dad gave you a wagon and I didn't want to like, you know, mess up your dad's gift for your birthday, Julian. You know what?
Starting point is 00:05:08 I was hoping you'd want to give me one. But I was hoping you were going to get two so you and I could match. Okay. Yeah, but I would have felt bad that your dad got you this wagon and then I, you know, try to one up them and give you the buggy's wagon. So I know. But you know what? This one, the wagon that I got, it actually, it lifts up and you could put storage underneath. the main compartment.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Yeah. What would you be putting under there, Julianne? I don't know. Besides some tall boys. Maybe like a pack and play. Felicity's bats, you know. Cut waters. Cut waters.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah. So again, shout out to Air Tasker. That's how I got delivered from Arizona to Los Angeles. And was able to give it away to a Woody Show listener. So again, join my giveaway channel at Medi. on Instagram. Well, I will get back to Bucky's Julian and we'll get us more wagons.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I mean, you've got like, you know, 100 kids. So you need more than one wagon. You're good. I do. I can pull one. Kevin Capul one. Now I know.
Starting point is 00:06:14 If I go back to Texas, just bring an extra suitcase. Stop. You ain't doing it. Now you know, we were telling you to bring us something back before you left. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:23 I didn't plan ahead. It's fine. All right. Well, a couple things have happened since we've done the, since we've done. done the podcast last. I went to Las Vegas. It was quite fun. Stayed at the Fontainebleau. Dude, we got to do a pool like get together there because that pool is awesome. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:41 In town at the same time as me, but we didn't have a chance to meet up was Randy, aka Randall. Oh, he was in Las Vegas. He was staying at Circa. And this is the thing. This guy, he'll go to Las Vegas. You won't even see one post on social media. Yeah, that sounds about right. I wanted to see if he was enjoying his time. Let's be real here. Let's have a real heart-to-heart conversation on what's new. You know, when you get a little bigger, you feel less inclined to be in front of the camera.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Yeah, but that's when you get good at that angles, though, you know what I'm saying? That's a good point. I know. I do need to work on it. And I did have a fun time on Freeman. It was a lot of fun. It was the first time I'd ever actually stayed in, like, Old Vegas. And it was a great time.
Starting point is 00:07:26 He lost a lot of money in black check. Nice. You did text me. go, Fremont Street's different from the strip. Yeah, yeah, dude. But it's cool. It's different. It's nice. Honestly, I did not mind it. I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Starting point is 00:07:39 No, no. Fremont is awesome. What I love about Fremont is those free concerts that they have, the Fremont Street experience. Dude, those are awesome because you'll have big name bands that will just perform for free on Fremont Street. Go look up their calendar. Look up Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. and of course Circa was bomb, right, to stay at?
Starting point is 00:08:02 Oh my gosh. So much fun. Every floor, something new to try, something different to do. We were drinking, gambling, playing, having a great time. Absolute blast. I recommend Circa wholeheartedly 100%. And the other thing, too, I really enjoy about Fremont, is that it's so close.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Everything is just, it's literally just like a few steps away. And so I really appreciated that. Because sometimes, you know, when you walk on the strip, while it is fantastic and super fun, it does get a little tiring to walk a whole lot or be like, oh, look how far, we're so close to that casino, and then you find out you're not that close.
Starting point is 00:08:34 You sell like Tyler now. Yeah, that sounds like big boy problems. It was really hot, okay? So I enjoy being able to pop in the stuff. Yeah, it's easy to get around pretty much. So it was a fun time in Vegas. Of course, visit Las Vegas. com.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Right now, what they're doing is a lot of all-inclusive packages. So go check out visit Las Vegas.com. And they'll tell you all about those inclusive packages. get a trip in before the year is over. Now, Julianne, you had some party in. You turned, what, 45 years old? Ew, 42. Oh, 42 years old.
Starting point is 00:09:09 84, baby. Aren't you like 45? I'm younger than you. I don't think I am. Am I? I don't know. But Julianne, you party for your birthday. Now, I heard a little bit about it.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Now, I did not let everybody else know, but there was one wild story that I heard about that started off your day. Oh. Oh, my God. Oh, do tell. Why me? I don't know why Julian has the craziest stories. Did she get thrown in the pit again?
Starting point is 00:09:41 No. Oh, dude. No, I don't. Now I'm going to tell you this story is pretty brutal. Okay. Yeah, it's really sad. And it's sad. But this is how Julianne's day started.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Julianne, do you want to share? share with everybody what happened yes so we me spicy nacho and my friend tiffany we were driving to go get breakfast and i'm in the front seat i'm talking to tiffany and i look over to my side and i see roadkill i'm like oh man look at there's a little kitty it got ran over and i just kept looking at it because it didn't look squished so i just kept staring at it and i noticed it was still alive I'm like, no, no, no, no, no way. And then all of a sudden it like picked its head up and like looked over at its legs and threw its head back down. I'm like, oh my God, it really is alive.
Starting point is 00:10:36 I have to get out of the car. And spicy nachos now in the back seat, she's trying to call the Humane Society. My friend's freaking out like, don't get out of the car. It's a green light now. We can't get out. I'm like, someone's going to run the freaking cat over. I got to get out. So she's like, let me just bust a Ui.
Starting point is 00:10:52 We end up turning around. we pull over we someone sees us and sees what we're doing so they give us a towel and then Tiffany gives me some napkins and I'm trying to like pick this kitty it's a kitty and I'm trying to pick it up like I don't know like I'm just trying to scoop it up off the ground and his little head was like dangling it's still alive trying to breathe and and then it ends up dying in my hands and I and I place it into the shade and I'm like petting it even though I know it's dead but I was just like at least there's somebody here for it. And luckily, someone had come and pick it up.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Yeah, you called the animal. Yeah. Yeah. Animal control. Yeah. Jeez, man. So I was like, really. Only did Julianne like stuff like that would happen.
Starting point is 00:11:38 I know. I was like, what is this? What is going on? And before that, we had got to this hotel. And we went up to, to go look at the pool to see how cool it was. It was not cool by any means. There was like two people hanging out the pool. It was there was hardly any music the bar was closed. I was like What is this like what's going on? So that was a bummer and then the cat thing happened and I'm like anything else
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yeah, so yeah It was it was a good start to the day. Yeah, but you ended up going over to villains right? Okay, so we ended up going to villains and I was all excited because I knew they had a pool because you know know we did our Lego thing there. Yeah. So I was like, all right, let's go to the pool over there. That pool has to be popping. Well, it was popping with a bunch of like five and seven-year-olds. And I'm like, what is happening?
Starting point is 00:12:38 Yeah, they reserved the pool. Yeah, for like 30 kids and a little kid party. Yeah. We didn't know. Yeah, you got to call ahead of time. Reserve the pool. Okay, hold on. Yeah, you got to.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Who is taking 30 kids to a brewery. I understand. Somebody like me, I guess. I understand there's a pool there. It's a brewery, dog? You're taking 30 kids? Look, there's a lot of breweries that allow kids and stuff, man.
Starting point is 00:13:07 That's true. Family-friendly. I was just talking to Eric the other day, they're getting into like the whole Monster Jam thing. They went to a brewery near a Monster Jam event, and it's just kids everywhere all over the floor. It's going with their monster truck. So, I mean, people do not.
Starting point is 00:13:21 I mean, I don't know if they're, there's always been like an etiquette or just like yeah sure bring it along but i feel like breweries are pretty like sort of yeah unwritten yeah you know bring whoever you want yeah i don't mind but i just was like completely shocked that i turned the corner to see this pool and there was a bunch of little kids jumping in the pool and then we're over here in our bathing suits like like what we got to get out of here now so we ended up getting a table instead and we had the best time we had you know, drinks and shots and we were there for, I think, like, two hours. Nice.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And then, yeah, and then we Ubered back. Yeah, it was a really good time. My friends really enjoyed it, and they liked the decor, and they didn't know it was like actual villains. So, yeah, they liked everything about it. So we had a good time. So thank you to them. And then after we left there, we ended up going back to our hotel.
Starting point is 00:14:17 And we turned up at the world. like there is a couple there that got mad at us for having our our little stereo it wasn't even that loud and we're playing good music like old school music and these people were older so i assume that they would like it people getting mad at you juliette shocking we literally had just got there i hadn't even done anything yet but let me tell you last podcast when randy said my cryptonite is cut waters yeah oh my god is he right because i split my my first cut water was spicy nacho and I don't know how many I had at the pool but all I remember is I woke up and I was back in my room and it was nighttime and my friends were gone they went to dinner I didn't make it to dinner I face timed Kevin I don't remember talking to him and apparently I didn't I was just shoving food in my face and he was trying to get me to talk and I wouldn't talk to him and yeah so I think I think I may be done with cut waters guys
Starting point is 00:15:19 For now, there's more options out there. But then I heard that the cutwater margarita one is the strongest one, and that one's my favorite. Oh, okay. So that's the one I was drinking. But not working out well for you. No, no. And then the next day, I totally went to the bathroom like seven times. And I think it's the cut water, like all the sugar that's in it.
Starting point is 00:15:42 I think one day, I'm not used to it. One day in the future, we're going to look back on cut waters the way we do now with like four locoes. I also love that. Not so much, but, like, you know, four locals are really, like, an whole different level. But in terms of, like, man, I can't believe at some point of my life, I was chugging Cot Waters.
Starting point is 00:16:01 What the F is wrong with me? Yeah, well, I think the new Four Locos is definitely Beatbox for sure. Oh, maybe, yeah. Yeah, I can attest it. Yeah, I could see that. Dude, I could see that. O.C. Fair is mad filled with beatbox right now.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Everywhere. That's, like, the thing. Yeah. I had a good chunk of them at war. torn and I'm just standing there and I'm like hey you know what I feel like crowd surfing right now what's the percentage in in that 11 so it's one below a cut water I like I like how fast I was to give you that answer yeah I know I definitely looked at that he definitely looked at his yeah I slammed like five of them well I heard that the like the mango cut waters are like 8%
Starting point is 00:16:40 and then the margarita ones are like 12 yeah interesting now it makes sense why she swapped her mango cut water with me at sea world yeah those things will put you on your ass because i remember for the longest time too and when you would go when i would buy them i'm like why are they coming on like four packs that's yeah i thought the same thing i thought the same thing you just need to i i think that's all i'm going to do if if i do decide to still drink them i think two in the beginning of the day and then that's it i can't do anymore it sounds like quitter talk but all right i know sorry but it needs to be done yeah i scale back my drinking i would say big time But, I mean, I still have drinks here and there.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Just not over the top. I, you know, definitely have embraced marijuana a lot more and just had a balance. I think that's like, I don't know. I figured out my percentages to have a good time and not go totally overboard. Last weekend, I definitely hit the vapeen a lot. And I went to go see Spider-Man. Yeah, dude. And it ruled.
Starting point is 00:17:44 And he fell asleep. No, no, no. Why I fell asleep? No, weed? Honestly, unless I'm like laying down, doesn't make me fall asleep. But if I'm like at least sitting up or standing up, I'll be fine. I won't be tired. But so I went to Burbank AMC and I got there an hour early because I thought, oh, I'm going to need more time, but I got there super quick.
Starting point is 00:18:12 and I hit up this rice bowl spot and then I was like oh I still have more time so then I hit up the frozen yogurt spot and that was delicious and then I walked into the AMC and then everyone was in that like premium line at AMC like the what's it called AMC Stubbs?
Starting point is 00:18:31 Stubs right? Yeah and the line was massive me who's just mega high I just walked right up to the general concessions and I got my stuff right away So it wasn't that big of a deal I absolutely loved Spider-Man Spider-Man was great
Starting point is 00:18:47 I'll give it an 8 out of 10 But one other thing The popcorn buckets were kind of cool though The Spider-Man heads Dude that was cool I saw that one I almost bought one Why almost bought one
Starting point is 00:19:01 Because their bucket game is pretty strong Right now I feel like I have but I'm just like I don't know where I'm gonna put it I really don't have any room for it I only have The only bucket that I have surprisingly is the one from the Garfield movie like a year and a half a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:19:15 I use it as a, I forgot what the term of is. It's like a tray pretty much when I come out, I drop my keys in it. Okay. It's Garfield holding a popcorn bucket. But I am tempted every time I go to the theater to get one. I will admit. It's hard to say now. Now, Tyler, I did that at night.
Starting point is 00:19:30 You went at 8 in the morning. Yeah, that was kind of wild. Sold out. So I was looking, because my mom hit me up last minute. She's like, hey, do you want to go see Spider-Man with me and your brother? I'm like, sure. and but like this was on Thursday like the movie had come out like that day so I'm looking around and I'm like okay well everything's kind of booked and she's like well let's just go early the only thing open I could find was at 845 in the morning so and guess what I did the night before what I went out to the bar and got back to my apartment at 3 o'clock of course so yeah so that was a nasty little turnaround but you know we survived and it was it was a damn good now you can't you can't keep doing it this to yourself yeah you know what dude look he never learns his last guy do what you got
Starting point is 00:20:14 do my my my buddy hit me up for uh to go see uh because the tickets for doomsday have come out and he was like hey man like i got some you want to come with us like we're going to go amc 16 is the only date we could find and to be honest i had completely dropped the ball on getting these tickets i was just like oh yeah yeah whatever and so it was the only thing available this dude if i remember correctly i think the screenings like at 745 in the morning 745 or 8 a.m. in the morning and I was like, oh my, I have to wake up at 6 in the morning to drive to Burbank to go see Avengers Dooms Day. I didn't even realize movies are being screened that early. I know, right? It's definitely for the bigger ones, and I just noticed it kind of starting
Starting point is 00:20:54 with The Odyssey, because they were doing showings at like 2 a.m., 4 a.m., 6 a.m., so, like, I kind of noticed that, and now I notice it was Spider-Man, and now I know it's going to happen with Dune's Day, and I know it's going to happen with Dune Part 3, so I'm just like, all these really, really big movies, that they know are going to be massive, we're just going to be like 24 hours showing. Yeah, because they want to make a $7.15 in the morning. Sheesh.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Good luck with that. But I'd rather go early than late, to be honest. Like, I remember seeing Rogue 1 at like 12.30 a.m. And I was, I was, I was, I was, the movie was fantastic, but it was so hard for me not to fall asleep. I was so tired. My movie started at 8 for Spider-Man.
Starting point is 00:21:33 I didn't get out there until 11 at night. Yeah, it sounds about right. Because it was two and a half hours. And now at least when you buy your ticket off AMC, it tells you like, oh hey, just a heads up. There's like 30 minutes of previews right before. So it's like, damn, dude.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Yeah, it's crazy. Now, did you see the other breaking news with Spider-Man? We were talking about it last podcast that they were going to have this new Disney Vision thing thing and it wasn't going to be on IMAX, but then out of nowhere they dropped it saying it was going to be on IMAX.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah, that was weird. Yeah, I just, I don't know. Yeah, that's odd, right? It was, are they thinking like, okay, maybe the Odyssey doesn't have as much longevity as we thought, so then we are just going to throw it on
Starting point is 00:22:15 IMAX? It definitely has the longevity. It's just someone had to do a little bit of sweet talking with IMAX like, hey, we need some greens. I think the big thing too is that with Marvel in particular, there's been a lot of recency bias in which people are like, well, you know, the masses really want filmmaking.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Marvel hasn't really been hitting the way it has. And I think a lot of people understandably underestimated the demand and for Spider-Man. How much people wanted just like, Spider-Man, but just overall, like, a good a good superhero story.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Like, the movie itself is very solid. I also give it like, I had a great time watching it. But didn't they just, like, didn't it surpass, like, a billion Avengers? Yeah. Engage, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So it's like, I mean, you'd have to be smoking crack to not,
Starting point is 00:22:59 to work in those offices and not be like, let's not put it on IMAX. Yeah. The people love Tom Holland. I appreciate you, Christopher. And Zendaya. Yeah. Kick.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Now, Julian, did the nerds in your house go see it or no no no not yet but kevin was like telling me that he heard some spoilers and then he's like do you want to know what i've heard i'm like no i don't want to know what you've heard god but of course he knows you know what's next on the horizon for movies uh dune dune is going to be yeah there's like dune three and there's doomsday but that's not until december i i'm sure nothing with dc right nothing in the movies no not with dc i know resident evil uh i know that remake is coming out. What about Mortal Kombat? That came out already.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I know, I know. Oh, Street Fighter. Street Fighter. Yeah, that's the other one. Yeah, I'm down for Street Fighter. Yeah, dude. I really want to see that. And I'm, I'm sure there's some other stuff coming that I'm just blanking on right now. You're supposed to be the movie guy, Tyler. You know what, this is my bad. I will take responsibility. That's my bad. Anybody got Google? Geez, no.
Starting point is 00:24:01 But yeah, I want to, uh, I'm definitely going back to the movies more. but I feel that I was talking I was listening to I feel I'm definitely going back to the movies more but I think it's because there's actually like good movies in the movie theater now yeah it took a minute for them to come back I think we were dry for a couple years where there was only like one or two hit movies and now we're getting bangers after bangers so movies are back can I shout out a movie that I'm really excited for also I apologize if you're hearing buzzing in the background it's the fancy litter box going to But the end of Oak Street.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Tyler, have you seen that one? That's the big one. Okay, fill them in on it. While I meet myself with the stupid litter box. So basically it's Ewan McGregor. It's Anne Hathaway. They play these parents. They live on this just normal block.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Something happens overnight. They wake up and they realize that for whatever reason, just their block specifically, just transported back to where the dinosaurs are. And so they're trying to survive while these things are just like walking through everybody's front yards, just eating up everything that they see. It actually looks pretty sick.
Starting point is 00:25:10 This is your dream. The original title for this movie was Flowervale Street and it was announced like a couple years ago and all that was given away teaser-wise was dinosaur ghost. So now dinosaur ghost has transformed into what we're seeing with the end of Oak Street and I am very excited.
Starting point is 00:25:26 And I believe that comes out not this weekend. I believe it's next weekend. Yeah, pretty soon because I was looking at the schedule because you know we have access to an iMac screen and that was it was just Odyssey to Oak Street and I was like we're Spider-Man
Starting point is 00:25:43 but apparently I need to go back and look I mean I already saw Spider-Man so you know what you know what comes out this weekend that I completely blanked on because we just had the guys in studio Super Troopers 3 that is this weekend oh shut up I'm excited for that
Starting point is 00:25:59 and practical magic of course guys we're still doing that you know what the Funny thing is I did see like a poster for that. And I was like, oh, this is that crap, Julianne was talking about. There was a screening of practical magic at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery last week. With the actresses from it. I saw it as it was happening. I thought, well, Julianne must be there.
Starting point is 00:26:21 She's the biggest fan of this movie ever. I did not only watch it. I didn't know that, you know, they had special screenings for it. Apparently. Oh, my bad. You know what I just watched the other day? and it was totally boring was the devil wears product too stop it that movie was great that was lit what you're both great don't be a hater i was kind of disappointed i was like
Starting point is 00:26:44 i'm kind of bored i wouldn't really care if we turned it off but the ending was really cute well ending was what made it good more for the rest of us but it took that long for it to get good wow by the way uh quick shout up for some movies that are coming out digger with tom cruise i've seen like a poster about that i have no idea what it's about other than that i have no idea what it's about other then the oil man thing. I saw the trailer. I have no idea what it's about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:06 See, from what I, from what I gathered, it's basically, he plays like an oil tycoon who creates a natural, a natural disaster. And then he and his,
Starting point is 00:27:16 like his peers have to basically fix the problem. I could be getting it completely wrong, but no, I think I heard the same thing on that. Yeah. And then also whale fall, street fighter, Clayface,
Starting point is 00:27:25 which is a DC movie. Oh, yes. And then the big one, have you guys seen this one? This is the big one that all the ladies are freaking out about online. A wicker. Have you seen a trailer for that? No, no. Basically, it's this woman who, like,
Starting point is 00:27:37 Peter Dinklage plays like this, this, like, I don't know, this, like, builder in this village and this lady who's always being made fun of her for a night. We're, like, the guy, she doesn't like the guy, or they don't like men at all? No, no. So it starts Olivia Coleman, Alkinor Starsguard, and basically Peter Dinklich,
Starting point is 00:27:53 who's, like, a builder in the village, makes her a man out of Wicker. Okay. It's this whole big thing, and, like, all, it's a romantic fantasy, comedy movie and online people are going crazy over it. Look it up and watch a trailer when you get a chance. It's, uh, it's interesting. So it's unique. Two other movies completely forgot about this. Okay, first off, thank you to the AMC app where I can just open up the coming soon tab and see what's coming
Starting point is 00:28:15 up. Yeah. Uh, but at the end of the month, totally forgot about these two movies. So the first one is the dog stars, which is directed by Ridley Scott. It's like an apocalyptic survivor movie. Has Josh Brolin in it? I'm always down for that. But that same day, the movie we never thought we'd ever see Coyote versus Acme, baby that's finally happening the Looney Tunes movie I saw the trailer for it
Starting point is 00:28:42 I'm like this thing looks like it rules Is that the Lordwood John Cena? Yeah, it's the one that Warner Bros. Supposed for whatever reason and people made a big stink about it and big enough to we're like you know what we're going to bring it out It's really important that people go watch those movies
Starting point is 00:28:57 because if you keep you can't go watch those and then complain about how animation doesn't change or why aren't we doing the old animation movies and more like you have to go watch yeah keep the movies alive also you guys sorry not to talk to us about movies but did you see the trailer for ebeneezer johnny depp is finally back oh i did see that ibenezer scrooge yeah he's playing he's starring as ebeneezer scrooge which is like his return to the big screen playing characters like the whole intro to the to the movie or like the trailer is just basically talking about how
Starting point is 00:29:27 you've seen him as jack sparrow you've seen him as edward scissors hands okay See him as Ebenezer. He dressed up in character as Ebenezer at Comic Con. He was walking around, like in the full face garb, like hunched over and everything. He looked pretty cool. All right. Lots of good stuff. A lot of good stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Definitely going to be back in the movie theaters. Anything else coming up in your guys is live? Any big events? I know that we're going to stop by D23. That is not this weekend. But next weekend, that's going to be fun. Are they announcing the X-Men at that? like the cast?
Starting point is 00:30:02 I'm sure that I'm going to announce a lot of things. Yeah. They usually have their own big panel. Yeah, it looked like they had very minimal stuff at Comic-Con on purpose this year. So I think all the Star Wars, all the Marvel, everything will be a D-23 this year. Dude, after Spider-Man, I'm back in, bro. Like, I'm back. I'm Marveled up, dog.
Starting point is 00:30:22 I saw that and I was like, yo, I'm like, I got to catch up on some shit, dude. I'm here for it. Maybe at all the shows, but, you know, I'm all. Yeah. This weekend I'm not really doing anything I'm just kind of hanging out Probably gonna build a Lego set Nice
Starting point is 00:30:36 I was thinking about doing the same thing Yeah right Yeah I'm just like I think From now until the end of the year Just so much stuff like And then October it's the birthday month Who knows what's gonna happen then Finally a Jack in the Box headquarters
Starting point is 00:30:51 Maybe maybe I don't know I put it out there last time It almost happened I think somebody kind of blocked that within our own company. So what you're saying is we've got some haters. I mean naturally, Rob. Duff.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Makes it makes me sick. If you succeed in, there's people see them. Let me tell you. Yeah, I think Jack the Box is 100% down with it, but I think somebody else stopped it for some reason. Let me know who's big. Is it Jollybee? Is it Jollybee HQ?
Starting point is 00:31:18 Jollybee HQ? You know it's another HQ? I feel like I. I drove by it the other day. I've seen BJ's headquarters. It's around here. I can't remember exactly where, but it's around here.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Oh, like, do you ever what city? No, it's somewhere towards like the Costa Mesa area. It's like around like that. I think it isn't a torrent? No. No? Come visit me. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:38 I'll come visit you. BJ's headquarters. Thank you, Fred. Yeah. Hey, uh, Bort, I'm going to be next to you starting tomorrow. I'm going to be at the Huntington Beach Ocean Front Hotel. Oh, sick. What you're doing down there?
Starting point is 00:31:51 Um, just with hanging out with my girlfriend and just staying there until Saturday morning. And, but I'm bringing like Felicity in the beach. baby, but you know. Oh, kids. They're still going to party. I know. Nice. Naturally.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Duh. I mean, duh. No cut waters. Baby just wine. This is funny. Tyler is so wrong. I just looked it up. Julianne will be the closest to BJ's restaurant.
Starting point is 00:32:12 And so why? Because the headcours is in Huntington Beach. Oh, really? Let's go there. And I drive past it every day. Yeah. It's off the 405. I was like, I know it's in the area.
Starting point is 00:32:23 It's right off the freeway. I just saw it. I just don't remember where. You know what might be cool to check out. I saw this actually. not that long ago when I was driving on the freeway. Yamaha, like the speakers. They have a California-based H-Q that's Cyprus.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And apparently they've got like a really crazy like audio room thing, like presentation stuff. And they are relocating to Georgia at the end of the year. Oh, so this is the perfect time to go. Yeah, I was like, hey, any stuff you want to leave here, we got you. I got you. I don't know. He'll take it all.
Starting point is 00:32:53 You have any ATVs? Yeah, you all got, look, I know you go all make keyboards and stuff like, You got some motorcycles you want to leave behind, dude? Come on, we're down. Some side by sides. Let's go. Isn't that kind of crazy that they have keyboards and, like, sports vehicles? I love it.
Starting point is 00:33:09 I love it. I mean, kind of, but, like, when I used to sell TVs, we had a bunch of Mishubishi TVs, and then they make cars, you know? Hitachi makes massagers to construction vehicles. Sony makes video game consoles to, like, crazy, advanced high-tech stuff. Dude, it's like Michelin Tidec stuff. tires and Michelin Stars being from the same company. It makes no sense.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Oh, are they really? I didn't know that. No, they actually really are. It's not even... Oh, cool. Yeah, it's a thing. All right, guys. Well, I can't make this too long because
Starting point is 00:33:40 Julianne, Randy, yes. Brett, be jealous. Tyler and I and his family are having dinner today. What? Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Yeah. Why do you not hit the air horn? There we go. That's happening. You're going to meet his mom? He's going to meet my mom. He's going to meet my dad. He's going to re-meet two of my brothers and then two of their girlfriends are coming.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Yeah. So here's the deal. So lazy dog restaurant every Wednesday is going to start having family night, Julian. You got to go because they're going to have like discounted meals. Also like the kids that get free Sundays, it's going to be a thing. So I'm going for the first one. with Tyler's family so I can record a video to talk about
Starting point is 00:34:31 family night and I'm going to post about it and you the listener I might have dinner with you if you tag in the comments what's your closest lazy dog because I'm going to be going to a bunch of different lazy dogs for the next six weeks and having dinner
Starting point is 00:34:47 dinners with friends and families so if you want to be a part of that make sure you hit up and I'm willing to travel so if there's you know, lazy dogs that are not in Southern California, please still comment and tell me which your closest one, or the one that you're willing to travel to, and maybe we'll meet up on one of these Wednesdays
Starting point is 00:35:09 for family night at Lazy Dog. But the first one is going to be with Tyler's family. It's going to be lit. I'm super excited, dude. Like, I have no idea how this is going to go because you've never met my parents. And my parents have never met anybody from this podcast or the show. So this is going to be interesting.
Starting point is 00:35:27 thing to do this guy well you got to make sure you tell her thank you for all this sweet treats she always brings us when we have slumber parties together of course oh she the best stuff so yeah it's gonna be fun it's gonna be a good time so we have to go to that a little bit later I got to get a nap and I'm dying I'm back in the gym now julian you you go to the gym quite often right yeah how's that going how's your workout journey oh it's going good you should try doing classes it's it's the classes I want though they're late at night though I know that's the only bad thing sometimes when they have things like that but you got to get out of your comfort zone and like try things like yoga and Pilates because there's guys
Starting point is 00:36:07 that actually show up to our Pilates classes and they get their butts kicked. They're like dang this is no joke and they just keep coming back and they feel stronger and they feel better so you should just try it out just how you like it. I just want to do and I can't believe I'm saying the sense. I do want to try Pilates just because of the stretching because I did like this test. And like Tyler, I have zero flexibility. Oh, dude, it's bad. Yeah. It's really bad.
Starting point is 00:36:40 And it just gets worse and worse as you get older. And then you just become this hunched over old man at the end of the day. So yeah, I got to figure out how to stretch out. They have stretch labs. Have you ever heard of that? Stretch lab. Yeah, what's that? Yeah, you should check it out.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Is that a chain? Yeah, it is. My Pilates instructor actually works at one. But if you go to a choose fitness, I don't know where you go, but if you happen to go somewhere like that, they actually have stretch classes. But if your gym doesn't have that and you don't want to switch, then check out stretch lab because they'll stretch you. I think like 30 minutes to an hour and then you can like set up your own schedule. Yeah. And it's really good.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I want to get stretched. but yeah, I have like zero when it comes of flexibility. It sucks. I get it, man. I just started physical therapy to fix some muscles around my knee and my back and the guy, so, you know, physical therapy,
Starting point is 00:37:39 you go in there, you're like, I have a, in your head, you're like, I have a general idea of what I need fix or what needs to be strained. The guy, maybe do a bunch of assessments. He was like, bro, I'm be honest. He was like, we're definitely going to work on some of the stuff you flagged to me, but your calves are. are the main culprit, I think, and what's causing you a lot of problems.
Starting point is 00:37:57 And then he explained to me how tight my calves were. And he was like, yeah, your cat, yeah, I know, I'm very hot. So he gave me a bunch of stretches. And I have to admit, I did a full, we did like 30 minutes of calf stuff. And I felt a lot better. Nice. It's almost like a workout, right? Because you're just so stiff that when they stretch you, you're not, I don't want to say in pain,
Starting point is 00:38:16 but the next day you're definitely going to be sore. Yeah. I mean, you should kind of be, it's better to be in pain because then you feel like something's actually doing something. Because if I if I if I felt nothing was worse than like when I'd go to the gym and I'd lift a bunch of weights and the next day I feel like the same I feel like I feel like the way yeah then I feel like I feel like the way yeah I mean so well I mean as we're getting older yeah I'll do Pilates I've been wanting to do it I've been wanting to start up a class we should I'll be down totally should if you go let's go let's Pallads together you and Tyler let's do it do hot Pilots hot Pallots yeah is so good love how you know volunteer for this beyond Tyler you're gonna kill gym did do it do it Tyler oh okay
Starting point is 00:38:58 you're gonna regret it when you're older because then it's really going to be skinny and flabby you have to be skinny and strong because the muscles are what's the muscles is what keeps it all together man yeah all right I'll tell you guys what yeah let me let me let me nail the second job first and then then I think we'll maybe we can do it yeah
Starting point is 00:39:19 Pilates instructor there you go yeah no that's it that's a a good idea. And we can get smoothies after. Ooh. Yeah, they have protein shakes at the gyns now. Well, at least at choose they do. Where do you go? Do you want to say? No, I'll say,
Starting point is 00:39:35 I mean, it is kind of bougie, but I go to Equinox. Oh. Oh, nice. That's a good gym. Yeah. But I don't have the all-pass thing where it costs a billion dollars. Now, if... I work out of my office is gym, but I feel gross because I have to shower there.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Nice. And you can tell you turn on, you're like, someone has not showered in here. I will make an argument, though, for the Equinox thing. If you get a single location membership, all those things that are like personal training, all the like Pilates class, all that kind of stuff that you would pay like a ridiculous amount of money for, it's all included in your membership. So you just like say, oh, I'm going to go to this class. I'm going to go to this class.
Starting point is 00:40:17 It's all included. So it's not extra add-ons at all. So definitely take a look at it because after. I actually looked into it. I'm like, oh, this actually is not as bad as you think. If you take advantage of everything that's available. And by the way, I just looked it up and they do have stretch classes at that gym. So you're in luck. Nice.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Well, you might see myself and you might see Seabaster. Oh, God. Yeah. I'm happy he's going back to the gym because, yeah, he needs to. Oh, wow. Well, I mean, he was fat and bald. Now he's just going to be bald. He's getting it together.
Starting point is 00:40:54 He also got Invisaline too. Oh. Did he really? Okay. He's trying to glow up. Oh, did he meet someone? I don't know. Oh, that's a good question.
Starting point is 00:41:02 No, he said it had to do with like grinding his jaw at night or something. Oh, yeah, I do that too. Yeah. Anyways. But, you know, I saw your guys' Instagram post about how he, um, he, he had the guy from the six, the doctor from my thousand pound life or whatever, whatever that's called. Yeah, there you go. He had the doctor on from there telling, giving a, Sammy a show.
Starting point is 00:41:23 shout out, right? Yes, dude. That was actually pretty funny. Like the part where you say, the part's where you're like, when your boyfriend takes your mac and cheese and you yell at it? I was like, I was dying. That was funny. Yeah. Well, if you haven't been listening to the Woody Show, we've been calling Sammy Fat Sammy because she's actually been eating around us. And this is nothing that she hasn't shared
Starting point is 00:41:45 on the air, but she's like, yeah, I went from 100 pounds to 105 pounds, guys. What a fat ass. So we're like, oh my God, fat Sammy. It's all a joke. Yeah, of course. She doesn't have an eating disorder. She's just a very time.
Starting point is 00:42:01 She's still incredibly scary. Yeah, she's so small. Yeah. But Seabas needs probably some advice from that doctor, not Sammy. Doctor now, dude. Dr. Now's the goat, man. I mean, I don't know if I would take any advice from him, but he is a goat. Anyways, all right, guys.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Well, we're going to get out here. Shout out to our friends like Joe Koi, J-L-K-O-Y.com. I think the latest news on him. He's getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Starting point is 00:44:00 Randy. I'm currently trying to figure out what cameo I'm going to hire to announce my draft order because I'm a commissioner of a fantasy football league. Yeah, dollars in it. As you remember, as you may or may not know, last year I hired Kurt Engel to do our draft order. where Kurt Engel proceeded to call Tyler a pussy and an idiot, I believe. Yeah. So, you know, I got a match that experience for my players.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Okay. So I'm currently looking through Cameo to find someone. I don't think I'm going to pay as much as I did last year. And I think everybody who's on there has now gotten a little bit wiser. So they're like, if you want me, you're going to pay me 300 bucks. So I've narrowed down. And I think the person who I have in my sights should be a fun little. Nice.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Number 11 is Tyler, who his girlfriend. picks his team for him. You're an idiot and you're a pussy. Nice. Exactly. Hell yeah. Love it. I like that. I like that. Yeah, that's good. All right. Tyler, do you have anything to say before we leave? One, I don't like that. And number two, just filling in for Eric, 35 days until football season. That's right. I miss you. I don't know where you're at. All right. Brett, do you have anything to say before we leave? Yeah, quick shout out to our friends at Finch and Sparrow collectibles and games. They've been so great to us with, you know, guess up with Pokemon cards and just being good friends of the show and being listeners of the show.
Starting point is 00:45:22 And they actually got broken into last week at their Signal Hill location. And they got hit pretty hard by these Pokemon thieves. It sucks. A lot of their high-end stuff was swiped. If you're in the Signal Hill area, if you're in the Long Beach area, Torrance area, anything nearby, stop by. Go to Finch and Sparrow. They have another location that's opening up soon. But please stop by this location.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Show them to support. give them a follow on Instagram. We'll all reshare their posts so you guys can get to know about them. If you collect cards, just go shop from them. Give them some love. Do it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:45:56 All right, guys. We'll see you next week. What's new with menace?
