What's new, what's new with Metis? What's up everybody and welcome to another edition of What's New Pod. I am Metis, I am not joined by anybody today. I am on vacation. Normally I would have Bort, aka Brett. He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the Woody Show Morning Show that you can hear across the United States and around the world on AFN. I also am usually joined by Eric and Randy who are coming to us live from Downey, California.

And Tyler, aka Heavy T, plus Julianne. But Brett is also enjoying some time off, so I don't want to bother him to do a podcast. Eric's having a baby. Julianne just got back to town. Who knows what Tyler's up to? Who knows what Randy is up to? All I know is they keep on texting about the baseball season in our group chat. But before I give you this mini podcast, I just want to let you know that

Brett and I still will be working tomorrow, April 2nd, at Huntington Park, Raising Canes, from 1 to 3 p.m., doing a ton of giveaways for theme parks like Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags, concert giveaways, Woody Show merch, and more. So I'd love to see you tomorrow if you can come and hang out with us. If you can't make it to that, Saturday, April 6th, I will be at the Mid-Valley YMCA doing a charity event from 10 a.m. to noon. That is the YMCA in

Van Nuys. You just Google Mid-Valley YMCA and you'll get the address right there. But this charity event is the power of sight. Now, you don't have to do it, but if you want a free eye exam plus free glasses, you can do that at this event on Saturday. But if you just want to come on by and hang out from 10 a.m. to noon,

I would love to see you. I will also have giveaways for theme parks, concerts, and Woody Show merch. Now, you're probably asking yourself, hey, Menace, there is a sold-out show called the Woody Show Fiesta with Cypress Hill that is happening April 13th. Will you have tickets to that? And the answer is yes. So please show up to these events. Now, there is something that I'm not supposed to announce, but I'm going to go ahead and do it anyways. April 11th, I will be in the city of Long Beach giving you one more chance to get into the Woody Show Fiesta.

Thursday, April 11th from 3 to 5 p.m. at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Long Beach on Long Beach Boulevard. So save the days for all that if you want to try to get into our 10-year anniversary party. Now, I'm recording this on April 1st, which is April Fool's Day. And 14 years ago to the day, the Woody show was fired in San Francisco. So it's a bittersweet anniversary, which, you know, led to bigger and better things. But man, it was a trip at the time.

We had no idea that we would ever get back together. Woody moved back to St. Louis. Ravey moved back home with her parents and then eventually years later joined Woody in St. Louis. I stayed at our original station Live 105 only because the previous morning show that I worked on just signed on back in San Francisco. So they didn't want me going anywhere. Greg stayed at the station for a while but then eventually went to a station called K-Fog. Fast forward five years later, we got the call. Would we want to go back together and try the Woody show once again in Los Angeles? I automatically said yes. I know everybody else was on board, but it was up in the air up to two weeks before the

announcement if it was actually going to happen or not. The announcement, I mean the press release saying that we were back together and we were going to be on Alt 98.7. So we really didn't know if it was going to happen or not. And when it did, it was not smooth sailing. The welcome committee was a little lackluster. Let's just say they didn't even know that we were coming. Our office wasn't set up. Our studio was a mess.

The station was in 23rd place in the morning. But somehow I knew and the rest of the crew knew there was a ton of opportunity. Fast forward a year later, we decided we're going to go all in on the show because we had no choice. If the show didn't succeed, we were out. And a lot of us quit cake gigs to risk it all and try Los Angeles. And eventually that bet paid off. So I want to thank you so much for listening to the Woody show and to this podcast. The past 10 years has been a

complete blur, but I've got to meet so many cool listeners, friends for life like Brett, Julianne, Eric, Randy, and Tyler, and continue the Woody show, hopefully in 2028 when our contract runs out. Now that I've made all my statements, let's talk about some fun stuff. Now, we went on vacation on Thursday. Friday morning, I flew to Austin, Texas, and I got to enjoy Buc-ee's. You can go see the video on my Instagram at Menace, M-E-N-A-C-E. I also went to H-E-B grocery stores. A lot of people told me to hit up that spot. I posted a video of that. I have more content coming. I went to Daiso and I'm going to be doing a giveaway on my Instagram at Menace.

M-E-N-A-C-E. They're opening up more stores in Austin. If you don't know, the Woody Show is on a brand new station in Austin. 101X. Make sure you tune into that. That was a really good time in Austin. I want to stay longer next time. After that, I hopped on a flight to Phoenix because it was my connecting airport to the palm springs area and dude why

does this happen to me every time i fly into phoenix my connecting flight is on the other side of the airport and if you ever been to the phoenix airport it is so freaking huge and they give you this little tiny window for you to make your next flight. But I made it. And it just reminded me that I really want to visit Phoenix as well. They are going to be opening a Bucky's because I had my Bucky's bag with me and the workers there were telling me like, oh, dude, Bucky's is opening up in the Phoenix area pretty soon. So I'm definitely going to fly out to Phoenix or take a road trip to Phoenix to check out that Bucky's. But on top of that, they're supposed to be building this brand new mattel theme park i haven't heard any updates on that so i'm gonna have to look into that oh and food news i forgot to tell you on um thursday before i left town to

austin i went to the lazy dog test kitchen and tried some of their new spring items and i'm telling you so freaking good they had the spicy tuna crispy rice that I'm telling you, so freaking good. They have the spicy tuna crispy rice that I'm telling you is on the level of freaking Nobu. And you gotta try this one out. They have a chicken and waffle salad. Yes, I ate salad. It's good. So I'm gonna do a giveaway on there as well. I think I'm gonna post that today. Again, today is April 1st. It's gonna be a packed week. And then after that, weekend one of Coachella. Obviously, I'm only going to go one day on Friday night because we have the Woody Show Fiesta on Saturday. But the big Coachella weekend is weekend two because that's when Randy and Tyler are going to be returning as the Safari Boys. If you don't know the Safari Boys, we launched that last year where Randy and Tyler went to Coachella for the very first time and they dressed like they were going to a safari.

My only thing is, okay, these guys, they walk around like some freaking gorillas, okay? And they carry their bags. Dude, last year, and we're going to have to bring it up on the next podcast before they visit the house because these guys walk around like some gorillas, right? And they carry their bags and they're just scraping the white walls with their bags and

putting smudges into the walls. They're like a bunch of bulls going all over the place. I wonder though, what is going to be our drink of choice this year? Because we usually hone in on one. I think last year the Twisted Teas were popular, but for me, maybe the High Noon Grapefruit is my favorite. I don't know what's going to be the hit this year, but I am preparing for these two gentlemen. And guess what? Huge year for Tyler. Since Eric's going to be having his baby, he's not going to be joining us this year at Coachella. Tyler will officially, officially get his own bed for the weekend. Now, if you haven't listened to the past podcast, every single

outing we've ever done, Tyler always has to sleep in some random spot. Like during COVID, we rented a house on a golf course with a pool in La Quinta, California, and there wasn't enough rooms. This house was massive, and they had a huge walk-in closet. Tyler slept in the walk-in closet. Like, that was his room. And every time we go out to the Coachella Valley and we stay at the house, there's never enough beds.

Tyler always has to sleep on, like, a fold-out bed, and then the dogs bug him in the middle of the night because they don't know what this monster is sleeping on the floor. But Tyler, it's a big year for him. He will be getting his own bed, allegedly, unless somebody comes by last minute. Also, let me think what's going on. What am I following? Okay, now try and think what's going on in entertainment that I'm following. Of course, there's all that Diddy News and then there's beef with Kendrick Lamar and Drake and J. Cole. But the thing that I'm really

following, guys, and I'm going to be honest, I have no shame in this is the honey boo boo drama. If you don't know, honey boo boo had a TV show called here comes honey boo boo. She was like on some dance kids show. And then she got her own spinoff show, which was that one. And then her mom became famous and had like some makeover show like mama June hot or or not then honey boo boo was like on dancing with the stars and now there's a new season of the show called honey boo boo family in crisis this is on we tv by the way and this family gives no f's okay like it is not set up they put all their drama out there so you you know what child actors, they get an account where all their money gets put into.

And that's in the state of California because usually in Hollywood, that's where everybody's at, right? But Honey Boo Boo, I think it's like in North Carolina or something. And they don't have those laws where they're shooting most of the television shows. All the money was being put in Mama June's name. And if you've been following along for the past couple of years, like I have, maybe I'm the only one. Mama June has had a really bad drug problem and allegedly now she's okay. But Honey Boo Boo is about to turn 18 and she wants to go to college. She wants to do the right thing. She's not like one of these child actors who just wants to live

off being a child actor for the rest of her life. Like she wants to go to school to be a nurse and it costs a lot of money. So she goes, you know what? I'm good because I've been on television most of my life. I should have a bunch of money. And if you look it up, apparently through the course of them doing all these TV shows, they probably made over $3 million just from the TV shows, not like any other appearances and things like that well since honey boo boo only did dancing with the stars in california some of that money was required to

be put away and apparently mama june put the minimum amount of money into that account all the rest of the money in the wind it's gone and honey boo boo is left with 33 000 at the end of the day which apparently might only cover one year of the school that she wants to go to. So that's super sad and messed up. And Honey Boo Boo says she's gonna get her money one way or another, but it sucks because the way everything was explained,

everything went to her mom's name, so she might not have a case. So that's the drama that I'm following on my vacation. How about you guys? We haven't actually heard too much about the Otani drama that I'm following on my vacation. How about you guys? We haven't actually heard too much about the Otani drama. I guess they're probably looking into all the wire transfers and seeing how that's going to play out, which will be very interesting. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this mini podcast.
