What's new, what's new with Menace.
What's up everybody and welcome to another edition of What's New Pod.
I am Menace, I'm coming to you live today from the Coachella Valley.
We are joined by Bort, aka Brett.
He's an audio expert and syndication expert with the Woody Show morning show
that you can hear across the United States and around the world on AFN.
Hello.
We're also joined by our friends Eric and Randy,
who both work for the NFL
podcasting network and are both coming to us live from Downey, California, but not in
the same room, just over yonder in Whittier, California is our boy Tyler, who is also broadcasting
from a secret location.
Yeah. On vacation. That's why I'm remote today, whole week off of the witty show. But just
before we get started on the podcast today, I want to thank everybody that joined myself and Bort with Pepsi zero
sugar. It was so much fun. We hit up so many different locations like, uh, Rancho Cucamonga,
Fontana, Pico Rivera, Covina, and every single listener was super cool. No joke. It was such
a good time. And also, Shakey's and Pepsi.
I know. Come on. And we got to try
the new Starry, which is so
good. I loved it. And shout out to all the
listeners who traveled like hundreds,
some thousands of miles just to meet
up with us at Shakey's. It was pretty
cool. But bigger news, guys.
It was Randy's birthday, everybody.
Hey.
Thank you. What was the big birthday festivities, Randy, everybody. Thank you.
What was the big birthday festivities, Randy?
What are you, 37 now?
No, it's 47.
And the festivities are starting today.
I've got brunch going on at a place here in town that just opened up called Toast.
Nice. And then we're getting barbecue from the spot downtown later today from Moo's Barbecue,
which I heard really got good reviews.
I was like, you know what?
I've had everything.
We always do ramen.
We do sushi.
We do Chinese, Thai.
I just want some barbecue.
I want some good old-fashioned barbecue,
so we're going to do that tonight.
Now, have you received any gifts yet?
Any birthday gifts?
You know, it's so funny.
I was talking to Eric at work the other day
about gifts once you're with someone
for a certain amount of years and how it just becomes more practical things.
So I got some shirts.
I also got to go to a Dodger game with my girlfriend, which was a lot of fun.
That was a fun gift to get.
And yeah, the food today will also be part of that add-on to the gift for me.
So I'm super excited.
It's funny that you brought up a Dodgers game because that's what I was going to get into. Our boy Tyler didn't join us last podcast because
he did go to a Dodgers game. He did go to the WB studio tour. He did go to the beach
because I saw that on social media. How you doing Tyler?
Kind of recuperating from that. So as you, as I'm sure you guys mentioned last week,
I had friends visiting from Houston.
Two females.
Oh, yeah.
We're aware.
Yes.
Two females who I literally consider probably the closest thing I've ever had to a sister.
No.
Come on.
Let's get out of here.
Dude, don't you dare.
Don't you dare.
You're such a loser.
Really.
I'm just saying.
Anyway. Guys, look. They're like stepsisters. You. I'm just saying. Anyways.
Guys, look.
They're like stepsisters.
You've seen the movies, right?
Oh, that's weird.
Okay.
Okay.
Yes.
Now, for them being here for only five days,
we got a ton of stuff done in those five days.
So they had never really been to Hollywood. So we did the walk of fame. We did the Funko store. Uh, that's right there on Hollywood
Boulevard. I took them to Amoeba, which is pretty cool. We did Griffith observatory. We did the
science center and the natural history museum. We did the beach. We did a Dodger game. We did
aquarium of the Pacific. We did Disneyland. We did downtown Disney. Like we knocked out like a
bunch of stuff for five days.
So to the point where by the time they left,
I literally came home
because I dropped off at the airport at like five.
It took me about an hour to get home.
I got home, was awake for about another half hour
and then immediately fell asleep.
I was exhausted by the time they left.
They're from Houston, right?
Yeah, they're from Houston.
And real quick,
got to give the Warner Brothers Studio Tour a shout out because that was legit.
That was the first time I'd ever done that.
It was really cool seeing all that stuff, all the stuff they had on display, going through one of the sound stages, which was pretty cool.
And they actually answered one question.
I had always heard a rumor that during the filming of Space Jam that Michael Jordan
had them built a basketball court in the middle of the parking lot and he would basically play
when the movie wasn't filming. And the guy said, that's 100% true. And not only that,
so you have the other basketball players that filmed the movie. I think it was Patrick Ewan,
Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, and Sean Bradley. So they would play with him.
But on top of that, I guess Larry Bird flew out for a couple games.
Reggie Miller flew out for a couple games.
And I guess he also ended up becoming really cool with George Clooney
because George Clooney was filming ER on the same lot.
And so he would come over after ER was done filming,
and he played basketball with them too.
So it's a little rumor that I finally realized,
like, oh, this is actually true.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah, that's something I love about the WB Studio Tour.
Anytime you go on it, you have a different tour guide who may know more about this kind of movie or this kind of movie or TV.
But they all have, like, this such broad knowledge and behind-the-scenes facts about a ton of everything that's going on.
And, you know, they pointed that out to, I believe, me and Menace when we've been on the tour prior.
But, you know, it could be, you know, they and Menace when we'd been on the tour prior.
But it could be they'll ask you, hey, what are you into?
Because that's what I'm going to point out this time.
And we went on it once, and you're driving in front of the movie theater where they do the premieres at, and on the other side is the courthouse
where Batman and Robin used to run up in the old 60s TV show.
And they tell us they only ran
up at once so every episode that you see them show up to the courthouse to go see the police
commissioner that was only filmed once and then at the same time they're like right where we're
standing is where the batmobile from batman returns went through a brick wall pretty much
and you know discharged all of its parts and became a torpedo and they're like oh yeah we
filmed that right here it's so no big deal there was one thing i didn't really realize before i go in because i know that most
of the sets that they build like you know because i think most of us have done the universal tour
and they'll tell you like oh hey the sets are basically just front facing where if you go
through that door there's literally nothing but what i didn't know is that if you go through the
door on some of these house sets there's an actual like living
room and whatever and then you go through the door on the side and when you walk out it's the
front door of a completely different house yeah it's really weird how that works yeah it's definitely
the best tour i think in los angeles so go check out the wb studio tour but eric getting back to
these ladies are like my sisters i just want to say they're from Houston. You were in Houston for like five minutes, dude.
What do you...
I know.
I was trying to bring it up.
So they went back to misery because it's like 150 degrees there right now.
Nice.
I think the day they flew back, I think the temperature was 105.
It was pretty bad.
Oh, sick.
Are the laws different in Texas?
Can you marry your sister or cousin there or something?
I don't believe you can in Texas,
but I believe you can in Alabama,
which is only two states away.
They encourage it, actually.
It's actually easier to marry them
when you got a sister title.
Oh, yeah.
And stepsister, again, very easy.
That's pretty much just, yeah,
walk on in five minutes later, you're married.
Yeah.
But, you know, Tyler,
I was very glad that you recapped all of this
because, you know, you're quote-unquote you recapped all of this because you know you're
quote unquote just like sisters uh we're tagging you in everything so we got there was we got some
good pictures on my instagram everything you did every pose you took and every person you were very
close to so i'm oh because that's interesting that you say that, Brett, because on his Instagram, he wasn't really showing anybody.
He was just like, you know, doing that basic thing that he does.
I'm at the beach and he shows his feet and stuff like that.
No one wants to see that.
Or it was just like just by himself or when he was at the ballpark,
it was of the game.
But tell me more about these photos.
Oh, I mean, you know, you took a shot on the,
on the friend's couch i
believe there was uh pictures on the car's ride i think he did a an old west photo shoot i saw
like a winchester gun in your hands um west photo oh yes yes and then uh you know there was the
funko museum because you know we all got a picture of tyler and the jeep from jurassic park but there was more pictures that were taken at the funko museum with tyler with uh these two again sisters
of his as you like to call them um you know i just want to say tyler you were pretty close to
one of them in almost every single shot oh interesting no stop shutting that down immediately nope that is nope none of that
shut it all that down i have to say man look i think of all you guys is you know as the good
brothers you're my friends yeah but you know if i'm taking pictures with you guys i'm not
gonna necessarily be up against one of you in every single shot and interesting tyler it was
like 99 with um one person. Nope.
Nope.
Just saying.
Nope.
Shutting all that down.
No, shutting all that down.
Don't get me wrong.
I get exactly where you're coming from, but nope, just getting ahead of that.
That's not happening.
How does your mom feel about you kissing a sister?
First off, no.
Second, that was another thing, too.
That was another off, no. Second, that was another thing too. On Sunday night, they
actually did come over to my house and they met pretty much my entire family, which is
pretty good.
Oh, nice. Double dip.
Yeah, so my mom was nice enough to basically make them a whole California Mexican food
style dinner because they have a Tex-Mex thing over there. It's completely different. But
no, it was really cool.
It's funny because I only thought we were going to spend maybe an hour and a half in
my house.
We ended up being there for about four hours.
So wait a minute.
Tyler's bringing females over.
Get out the fine China.
Not going to lie.
Not going to lie.
My brother made that same joke and I kind of hated it.
What's that show on TLC?
What's that show on TLC? what's that show on tlc the
sister wives sister wives yeah yeah nope that's nope shutting that down oh yeah polygamist tyler
on the prowl no no definitely not i support it he's the lower ladies hell yeah brother if you
can pull it off all about it tyler tyler does strike me tyler does strike me as the one person
in this group who would move to ut Utah if he could for something like that.
You know what?
I've visited.
Don't get me wrong.
Beautiful state.
Gorgeous scenery.
No, not moving there.
That was a trip that I didn't understand.
You're like, oh, yeah, I went to Salt Lake.
It was in the middle of COVID.
Also, he went because a girl was there.
Oh, that's right.
She was also a sister, apparently.
Okay, so Tyler, stuff like this.
No, she was not.
Stuff like this that gets brought back up to us that we forget about.
It's like everything.
There's always something under the surface layer with you.
So you're always like, no, dude, she's a friend.
No, man, I'm just driving to the other side of the country.
Every time after that, underneath underneath there's so much more i'm just in zion national park no big deal yeah okay first off zion national park is beautiful don't decide on this other side
second i mean the cross-country thing yeah there was obviously other intentions with that same
with the salt lake city thing so it is exactly what we just said yeah
i'm confirming that this one however with my two friends visiting clear like just friends i literally cannot emphasize that enough okay cool well i can't wait for the wedding yeah um all
right now check this out coming up on monday we're gonna be doing a preview screening of mission impossible
i got it set up so we can watch it in with a bunch of listeners i'm super excited about this
i've been watching the trailer before a lot of the major movies that have been coming out
it looks freaking awesome are you guys excited it amazes me what tom cruise is still doing what is
he 60 right but i watched this like video where it showed him when he was...
You see it in the preview, him jumping off this mountain off a dirt bike or something.
Yeah.
And he did it apparently like 12 times in a day just until he got the right shot.
And I'm like, this dude is 60 just jumping off mountain sides, hanging on the sides of
planes still.
Yeah.
It's honestly insane.
I know. in sides hanging on the sides of planes still it's honestly insane i know and i was watching
a interview with matt damon and he was talking about how he was at dinner with tom cruise and
how tom cruise just like plans out all of his stunts to do himself and matt damon's like i can
never do what he does this guy is just on another level also to to be added you know the original the
franchise started out with tom cruise being the solo person that returned for every movie i like
that ever since pretty much ghost protocol it's been the same cast kind of moving forward because
i love simon pegg and simon pegg is freaking hilarious in all of these movies so you have
tom cruise playing the badass cia agent that just goes and wrecks everything
and does all the stunts.
And then you have the hilarious Simon Pegg right next to him.
It's a perfect combination for all these movies.
It's going to be a great time.
Unfortunately, the guest list will probably be closed by the time this podcast gets released.
But please pay attention to my social media at Menace because I've hooked up with the
theater chain Cinenopolis.
Now they're like a luxury movie chain and they're opening a new location in
Los Angeles.
I don't know if they want to announce it yet.
So I'm not going to say it on this podcast because I Googled it and I
couldn't find an announcement.
So I'm not going to do that.
But when it is announced,
I'm going to have access to get more listeners in to have more viewing
parties.
So that's going to come up in probably like two or three weeks.
So please pay attention to my social media.
It's going to be super fun.
And for everybody here on the podcast, it's going to be kind of close to where you hang out.
I can put that out there.
And by the way, go to the Sinopolis food menu.
They absolutely knock it out of the park.
I guarantee you there's no other movie theater out there that does
as good as food as
Tinopolis. Bro, I'm not going to lie.
I might have to show up in a suit.
Do you have a suit, Tyler?
That's a good question. I own
a nice shirt and some nice pants,
but I don't have the full suit.
You should definitely become a suit guy.
Just start showing up in a suit. I was thinking about
it the other day because I don't know.
I guess the further I potentially get into my career,
you might one day have to have a suit.
And I was thinking it might be a good idea just to have one.
Yeah.
It's just always there in case for whatever reason you need to wear it.
You don't have to go crazy, dude.
If you go downtown, suits are really, really cheap.
They're like warehouses. You just get one and you go. get one and you go literally yeah you can find some nice ones over
there too like I've seen a couple and also you're gonna need a really good suit for all those
weddings you're about to have with all those sister that's what I was about to bring up as
you get older you're gonna start going to a ton of weddings and unfortunately a ton of funerals so
it's a good idea to invest in some
suits all right now we'll keep that in mind not for my personal wedding but for everybody else's
weddings oh one last thing about movies just fyi the machine is out on demand right now and
apparently is just killing it it's just like one of the most on-demand rented movies out right now
so check out the machine with burke kreischer it
is super funny if you have not watched it go check it out i absolutely love the machine super fun
movie oh since we're talking about synanopolis and how awesome their food game is their menu is
incredible you guys want to talk about some food news absolutely oh yeah all right kfc has a new limited barbecue fried chicken sandwich with crispy onions a huge
chicken patty bacon cheese and barbecue sauce all in or all out oh my god all in jesus hell yeah i
usually you guys you guys know sandwiches from kfc anyways so yeah yeah you guys know i'm not
the biggest fan of kfc but all that yeah i'll probably try it i i actually really enjoy kfc anyways so yeah yeah you guys know i'm not the biggest fan of kfc but all that
yeah i'll probably try it i i actually really enjoy kfc i i certainly wonder when the last
time you went was because kfc tends to be consistent with its flavoring and stuff and
they take you know they unveil stuff like this which by the way i'm all in i'm a sucker for
crispy onions i don't know what it is about them i just i love them on anything and absolutely
everything so count me in man i love it it when KFC puts out these cool sandwiches.
When it comes to barbecue chicken sandwiches, though, the one thing that's been bringing me
back to Arby's for the past 20 years is the barbecue chicken sandwich. And it is all the
same ingredients as this sandwich. So I'll have to try to see which one is better did you guys hear at taco bell they brought back the volcano menu are you all in or all out or were
you guys like five years old when it came out in the early 2000s yeah i'm not a you know me i'm not
a spicy guy so uh i remember it uh i'm down man you know i enjoy my taco bell to be a little spicy
my parents used to get this all the time because back then I was afraid of super spicy
food.
So they would torture you with mega hot food?
Yeah. Now that I'm a
grown man, I could...
Oh my God, dude. Wow. This is like bringing
memories of being at the Taco Bell
drive-thru and my mom getting my
order wrong and bringing me a volcano taco
and me eating it.
Yeah, I'm all in for this. I want to try this. no wonder you got along so well with us like your family already tortured you so with us it's
i know god man you were trained for this you got it oh did you see this one it was mr grimace's
birthday not our listener that's named mr grimace but the actual mr the actual Mr. Grimace from McDonald's, the big purple guy, if people don't know.
Yeah.
And the character.
And they came out with a special purple shake.
And it was hilarious that TikTokers,
they went to go try the shake,
but they did this thing, which was super funny,
where they tried the shake
and then suddenly their TikTok video
turned into a horror movie.
It was like a trend these
videos were so we mean we fell into like a little bit of a rabbit hole on like the group chat with
me randy and tyler these videos were so funny dude i don't know why they're so dumb but i watched like
a good 15 minutes straight of his tick tocks instagram videos of them so funny i wonder if
it was like a legit thing that just happened or there was
something behind it like the marketing actually was behind it and they made these videos happen
or it was just the natural thing that one tick tocker did and it was funny and then other tick
tockers did it but either way super freaking funny go check them out it's kind of like the
Popeye's sandwich thing from a couple years ago where like the the internet takes it and then
suddenly the company no longer has to do any advertising it's like the Popeye's sandwich thing from a couple years ago where the internet takes it, and then suddenly the company no longer has to do any advertising.
It's like the advertising is doing itself.
And I haven't seen a single negative reaction towards these Grimace videos.
Everyone's just been laughing because of how ridiculous it is.
I got to send you one, by the way.
Someone animated Grimace being interrogated for these videos, so I'll be sure to send it to you guys.
Nice.
Oh, and other food news how about this one
now have you ever been in a situation where like i'm not at a home i'm not at an office but i would
like a pizza delivered to me maybe you're at a park or something like that i would love to test
this out but apparently domino's is gonna do pin delivery so if you're on a street corner and you
drop a pin and you want to order a pizza,
they'll bring it to wherever the pin is dropped. Yeah. I'm bet the delivery people are pumped.
Oh, yeah. People down the middle of a field or something. Oh, my God. Behind an abandoned
Toys R Us. Dude, this reminds me of the time I was at Menace and the show had just gone on in
North Dakota. And he was trying to find someone
who was willing to deliver a pizza out to the station
that was in the sticks.
And every single person was like,
oh no, we don't make deliveries that far.
And then finally he found someone.
He was like, please.
And they're like, sure.
Legit, the radio station in Dickinson, North Dakota
is in the middle of a cornfield somewhere next to a lake.
There is no buildings buildings no homes around yeah
we google google earth it and we're like where is this like we just kept trying to find the nearest
street or ain't there could find nothing this is dominoes would deliver this gives me a bad idea
though man because i'm just going to try to be like the ninja turtles like what what sewer entry
can i get into and then just be hiding down there waiting yeah that's definitely gonna
be the next tiktok thing where where could we get a domino's pizza delivered with the pin drop yes
and i and i bet you i bet you loki they're probably thinking that in the meeting they're
like guys think about this like what if this becomes a thing it's it's honestly it's pretty
genius now that you say it out loud because i could totally see that happening and there's a
new ninja turtle movie coming out just saying let's go i can't could totally see that happening. And there's a new Ninja Turtle movie coming out. Just saying.
Let's go.
I can't wait to see that Ninja Turtles movie.
Real quick, before we wrap up on some food news,
shout out to Diego Hot Sauce.
Go to diegohotsauce.com or just search Diego Hot Sauce
in your Amazon store and pick some up today.
Thank you to everybody that tags me online.
There's more and more people tagging me almost every day
about Diego Hot Sauce. So thank you for picking it up. One thing though about hot sauces,
you know, when I started getting back into is hot ones, the interviews.
Yes. Dude, they had Jennifer Lawrence on like a couple of weeks ago. That was a really good
interview. I was watching another one last night. They have over 300 episodes now. Awesome. It's
like really, really
well done. I fell off for a minute, but now I'm back in and watching these interviews.
Yeah. Those interviews are usually pretty solid. I haven't seen everyone, but me and
my brother consistently try to keep up with it. I know the one they uploaded yesterday
was the 300th episode. I was with John Mulaney. Itaney it was really really good but if you wanted to get like
a little interview i guess behind the scenes as to what goes on uh the the podcast that me randy
and eric listened to part of my take it's the one on barstool they actually just interviewed
sean evans i think like a week or two ago and sean evans is the guy who is basically the face
of the hot ones and he gave like a kind of like a behind the scenes look at as it all works out it's some wild stuff as far as like how it came to be and how it all
works out and how this dude is like basically able to just eat chicken wings every day but at the
same time ones that literally will melt your face off it's an insane stuff dude i mean i listened to
it it was a good chat I'll definitely check that out.
Off of food news, talking about one of our favorite
places is Las Vegas, Nevada. Next week
there is a
con happening. It's called
NBA Con. It's going to be
at Mandalay Bay.
I was looking at the players
and guests scheduled up. They got
Wim Benyama, who's the number one pick.
Supposed to be this crazy generational guy.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West.
There's some pretty big names going on.
I think I saw-
I think a lot of Ray Allens going.
Yeah, 2 Chainz is performing.
I know.
I'm sure there's a bunch of-
I'm sure there's going to be a bunch of exclusive drops
and shoe stuff going on.
NBA sneaker heads are going to be all over this place.
And it's in Vegas.
Can't beat that.
Yeah, can't go wrong. I know
iHeartRadio is doing something with it, and they have a
promo code, so if you want some money off some tickets,
you can just use the promo
code RADIO on their website
at mbacon.com.
I just want a photo of Victor
Wimbayama. If you stood next to him, it
would be like a warped picture. It wouldn't look real
because he's so skinny and stretched out, and
you're so short and kind of plumpy. I'm sorry, but it would look like some weird Photoshop.
No, my favorite thing is he's best friends with Mbappe, who's a soccer star from France,
and they sit next to each other and he looks tiny. He looks tiny. He's so short compared to this guy.
So if I see him, I will definitely take a picture and send to you guys. You know what? You know what
the thing is, though? I would probably
love NBA Con because I'm a huge
Papa Shot fan. Whenever I go to
Dave and Buster's,
whenever I go to Chuck E. Cheese for a kid's party,
I end up on Papa Shot trying to merc these little kids.
So I'm sure it's Papa Shot heaven,
but these are probably real baskets
in three-point land, and I'd probably suck,
so actually, never mind.
Talk yourself into a hole there. Yeah, never mind. Talk to yourself at all there.
Yeah, I know.
I'm looking at this picture.
They have this cool, like,
obviously it's all these like, you know,
exhibits and stuff.
And they have this like where there's four baskets
in different corners of a room.
And it's happening July 7th through the 9th.
Again, you can go to mbacon.com,
use the promo code radio
and get some money off some tickets.
Did you see that might be the next thing
for like a top golf? I know they have like these now little mini golf type top golf setups but
they might do a basketball version of top golf where they'll have yeah a bunch of different
courts isn't that in houston right it's kind of weird that um these are all sprouting up like in
the texas area because i know we mentioned the baseball version of top golf a couple weeks ago and that one's literally right outside houston the basketball one i think
i remember it saying that it was going to start up in texas i don't remember where but a basketball
one that one would actually be probably one of the more popular ones i could see that being super
popular it's called jump shot and it's opening in atlanta okay never
mind not texas but i think i because i started following them on instagram that they said that
they would be going in texas next maybe that's why i got mixed up uh real quick though august 18th
speaking about cons i'm gonna be going to k-con which is the k-pop convention that's happening
at the la convention center that going to be all that weekend.
But I'm going to go on August 18th, which is the Friday,
and shoot a bunch of footage because I hooked up with Blackmagic cameras.
Super nice, super high-end.
The quality of the images are just next level.
But my favorite thing about Blackmagic camera is how easy they are to use.
Now, I've had similar cameras that have that high of a quality,
but they're just so difficult to set up.
You can't just like grab them and start shooting video.
These Blackmagic 6K Pro pocket cams that we have,
like I gave it to Brett.
Brett could use it within like 30 seconds.
User capability with it is so easy to pick up
and just start using and roll with it. Like it's fantastic.
Yeah. So if you see like a change in quality on my social media, that's because I started using
black magic cameras because they're freaking awesome. And that's what I've always wanted to
do is get to that level of quality of an image. I'm still learning everything, but it's just going
to get better and better and better. And the good thing about these cameras, they're way more affordable than those other ones that are super complicated to
use. And I'm excited to be working with them. And again, if you are going to be at KCON,
I will be there on August 18th. So say hi, don't be shy. Going back to sports real quick though,
NFL season. Are you guys ready? Are you excited? I'm slowly getting more excited.
I know me and Randy, it's like, it's our job
is like looming in the future. I'm
looking forward to college football this year for some
reason. I don't know. Dude, me too.
Saturdays, it's my day off, my
for sure day off during the football season.
There's no NFL games.
It's right before the Sunday. It's like my
one day of the week for sure. I know
I'm not going to have to do anything.
At least I hope.
I hope I'm not jinxing myself.
But like football on the horizon is nice.
I know me and Randy are going to get rung through the ringer because of it.
But it's, I was having this conversation with Randy about it the other day.
It's like, at least when we go into work at those days,
we have like games to talk about.
Right now we're just kind of circling the like content.
The rumors, yeah.
You know, like let's, how do we make a show?
When the football's going, the football's going. You know, you have like let's how do we make a show when the football
is going the football's going you know you have it's like it starts in august i'll see you in
march kind of thing you know it really is though it's like once you get going you just get lost in
it and by the time it's like going it's like diving into the literally diving into the deep
end and then you surface and you're like oh crap it's week nine already you know like you just
they fly by because you know you work to get
to the weekend but our jobs they start in the weekend so it's there's there's no like you work
the entire week and then you get to sunday and it kicks back up again so it's a weird sort of uh up
and down but it's fun to be a part of it and it's fun to see and much like eric you know i i too am
kind of like a week ago a month ago i was like oh the season's coming up but now i'm kind of like i
am a little bit ready for it.
It's going to be fun.
It gives you something to watch.
What do you think about the Green Bay Packers this year
now that you don't have Aaron Rodgers?
It's exciting, right?
It's like it's new.
It's something you got a young QB under center.
Now you really get to see what the team's made of.
Now you get to really see if LaFleur is the right coach for us,
if Love is the right quarterback for us.
I think there's a lot of exciting storylines going into this NFL season.
And, you know, there's some back and forth going on this year.
Like there's a defensive player, I think he's a lineman for the Bears,
was basically talking smack about Packers fans,
talking about how they don't know football and they're dumb.
And so I'm really looking forward to week one.
And if Seaboard's chat with Randy.
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to week one because they're takingaboard's chat with Randy. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to week one
because they're taking on the Bears,
and if they lose, the season's over,
and if they win, we're back at it again.
I think that's kind of a,
I don't want to elaborate on it too much,
but I think that's a dumb statement to say
that Green Bay Packers fans don't really know football
when they're literally owned by fans.
Right, yeah.
If you really think about it.
You are now ensuring that once you get to Green Bay,
you're going to be getting absolutely just mocked
and harassed by the crowd.
I mean, he's a Bears player, dude.
He's going to get it either way.
So now he's just poking them.
He's just having fun.
No, I know.
I know, but think about it.
If they lose.
I see what Randy said.
He's going to be pointed out.
Bulletin board material.
Absolutely.
And it's like you're going to Green Bay,
which the entire identity of the town is the football team. be pointed out bulletin board material absolutely and it's like you're going to green bay which like
the entire identity of the town is the football team like now bills are we gonna get the bills
into the super bowl this year they've been so close that would be nice i would love that i mean
it sucks because i was actually like the last three seasons they haven't even made the afc or
the last two they haven't made the afc championship game so it's everybody's like are they gonna make
the super bowl it's like dude i want to get back to the AFC championship game first.
That would be really nice.
But I mean, it's, it's always a possibility with Josh Allen.
We didn't, you know, make a big splash signing this year.
We don't need to, I think the team's there.
I mean, it's all about getting the pieces right.
They extended the coach, the GM.
So I think that shows a little stability, like, Hey,
this isn't a make or break year.
Like, but let's effing perform.
Aaron Rogers left the Packers, went to the A the afce so that's going to kind of suck it's going to be a dog fight
in that division this year it's going to be nuts and just in your backyard right there for you
bills versus chargers in december around your birthday it's going to be awesome yeah man like
i was saying saturdays are my day during the year so it kind of lined up perfectly my family's
already circled they were going to try to get as many of them
at the game as we can.
So it's been a minute.
I was telling Randy this the other day.
It's like SoFi is outside of our window.
We see it every day at work.
And it's just this giant building.
And it's like, I miss the people.
I miss the rumble of the crowd right out my window.
Yeah, well, you know we're going to go
to as many Chargers games as possible this year
because Chargers are a partner with iHeartRadio
and Alt 98.7 and
everybody that listens to the radio station, I'm
sure we'll have tickets to give away and
it's so much fun just to be able
to go there and see this new
stadium that's state-of-the-art. Love
the Chargers because they are an exciting
team and they just do fun
stuff. They make sure that everyone
has a good time. Yeah, man
They got a new OC go telling more from the Cowboys
So I think their offense is gonna be better which is even crazier to think like Herbert is gonna be slinging the ball
They picked up a guy rookie Quentin Johnson out of TCU
Long a long like opened up the field
He'll be he'll be running Keenan Allen Mike dub and then you got the guys on the defensive side
So it's gonna be it's gonna be fun season. Allen, Mike Dubb, and then you got the guys on the defensive side. So it's going to be a fun season.
I am not going to lie.
I am personally excited for week two
because if the Falcons have a chance to make Randy miserable,
if they beat Green Bay week two,
it'll basically be early Christmas.
Well, I told you.
I told you.
If the Packers lose week one, it doesn't matter.
The season's over.
So whatever happens after that. Yeah. Just kick
you while you're down. They're going to run the ball like
85 times a game. It's going to be insane.
Why is that a problem? They've got Tyler Algier
and they've got Bijan, which is just
going to be back to back just running plays. So
I mean, and on top of that, who do you play? Who do you guys
play week one Carolina? So
automatically get Bryce Young and the
rookie Panthers. That's a loss. So
I mean, once that's done, it's only it's only straight down for you guys after that. We automatically get Bryce Young and the Rookie Panthers. That's a loss.
It's only straight down for you guys after that.
Low key, I will say the NFC South is such a garbage division right now.
It's really bad.
I think the Falcons end up making the playoffs.
Oh, my God. Oh, wow.
I feel like you say this every year.
Every year, you're like, you know what, guys?
Well, of course.
I'm an optimistic person.
Week nine, he breaks up with them.
And then week 12, he's back on.
I'm getting a new team.
So according to this, let's see.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
I'll be breaking up with them around the beginning of November.
Vikings at Falcons.
So I'll get back to you on that.
Well, come on over to the Chargers, man.
We got the hookup.
We can go to games and stuff like that. And it'd be fun.
Um, it is a fun team to watch. So yeah, go to chargers.com, pick up your tickets and
look for us there. Guys, there was some breaking news right before we started recording this
podcast that the student loan forgiveness thing got shot down by the Supreme court.
Apparently there's going to be some announcement by the president who says that he has a master plan to still make it happen. Does this affect you in any way? Do you
still have any debt? Oh, yeah. I'll take it. I know everybody's like, oh, I paid mine off. I'm
sorry. But people are going to get paid. Sorry. I'm going to put my hand out. That's what I said.
I know this guy who's super successful, multi-millionaire. I'm talking about not just like a baby millionaire,
like crazy millionaire, right?
And the biggest piece of advice that he gave me
was you can't dwell on lost opportunities.
Like if you had a really good opportunity
and you whiffed on it or you passed on it,
you just got to keep on moving forward.
Now, I'm a guy who paid off all my student loans.
It was rough.
I made huge payments
for years to pay it off. Am I mad that some people might get $10,000 to go towards their
student loans? No, I'm not. I don't care because I already paid mine off. I can't go back and
change anything. So I'm not going to sit here and cry about it. And if it's going to help out a
bunch of people, then just let it. Yeah if anything i'd feel jealous maybe a little just
like oh damn i wish i was around for that but i mean i'm not gonna hold it against them and that's
that's thing too like i've seen people that we've we've known who've posted stuff on twitter about
complaining about the like how it doesn't seem fair but i'm like everyone's situation is different
man you know there are people there are people who because of personal reasons family reasons haven't been able to get
good good paying jobs or life happens someone gets sick god forbid you know and i just i just think
it's silly and i think it's so crazy how we live here and we're like just being hundreds of
thousands of dollars in student loan debt is a normal thing whereas like in other countries you
get school for free yeah you know i love that you started off the sentence with jealousy because that was going
to be my second part of missed opportunities guys i know that even like social media brings
on so much jealousy i'm just talking in general not just directly to people on this podcast but
if you could just take away the jealousy i know know sometimes it's hard, but when you see people's lives on social media and let's say,
Eric,
you know,
you just had this amazing trip in Hawaii,
right?
And you're like,
why does Eric get to go to Hawaii?
And I can't go to Hawaii.
Like your life would be so much better if you can just take away the
jealousy and then use that stuff to be inspired.
Like,
Oh man,
Eric went,
went on this amazing trip in Hawaii.
What can I change in my life? so I can go do the same thing? Once you start having that mentality,
I'm telling you, you're going to be so much happier because I'm telling you, there's so many
effing miserable people that sit at their house, watch people on social media and complain, say,
I work harder than that person, or I do much more than that person or that person has it so
much easier if you can just let that go and just start focusing on your own life and what you can
do to better your life you're gonna kick ass and you're gonna go on that trip to Hawaii you will
but to sit there and just be a complainer because oh I already paid off my loans and this person is
gonna get all this money like dude i hate to break it to you
on top of the loans there's so many other things out there that people get that you don't get it's
endless so to cry about this is freaking stupid hey man life ain't fair everyone has their pluses
and minuses and their hurdles to get over all you can really do is just be happy that someone you
know won something like as long as one of us wins something like good for them yeah it's not often we all get wins or any of us some people that are crying
about it never even went to college and check this out i'm telling you college costs way more
than ten thousand dollars for sure i had to pay way more than that yeah that's a drop in the pan
for somebody like my wife is a doctor she went to school four different times for some reason
and like that's like a fragment of what she's four different times for some reason and like that's
like a fragment of what she's got to pay back so it's like a little bit of help dude like that's
the bigger thing it's like they look at it as a why not me kind of thing was like okay man you're
helping others it's helping people in general so like i know our society's not set up like that
anymore it sucks everyone always gets in the fuss about stuff where it's like well i don't want to
help people if it costs me money but then suddenly suddenly when they need help, they're posting like GoFundMes. They're like
asking people. They're like, and it's like, you know, we had stuff like this. We wouldn't have
to worry about these things because it would just be a way of life. I like that you said
paying my money. You think you have control of any of your money? You're a goddamn idiot.
Yeah. Like everyone always wants to be like, we're all about helping people until it's time to
help people.
Then suddenly it's an issue.
And, you know, I think it sucks.
And I feel bad for people who really do have to, who are really going to have to pay a
lot of money for their student loan debt, because that's just going to make life more
difficult and more complicated in a country where everything is goddamn expensive and
everything is complicated and already hard as it is.
So it's a bummer.
I hope,
I hope Joe,
Joe Biden,
Joe Byron's big,
big,
a big idea works,
but I don't know.
I think with the Byron thing though,
everyone's just going to get played again that are like on his side.
He's going to be like,
Oh yeah.
The date to make the decision is right before the election.
You know,
I think,
well,
I mean the things too, it's like, I'll get played every time something comes up it's like well just gets pushed
back i think this is what like the fourth time yeah i'm pushed back already so yeah it was like
well we're gonna make the final decision the day after the election so vote for me now people have
student loan struggles guys i have a real struggle here okay this is hurting me i've been trying to figure this
out for a long time maybe you guys can help me out okay this is what i'm dealing with not student
loan debt i'm dealing with i don't know what my go-to shoe is anymore right i used to be a jordan
five guy i am still am it's my favorite shoe the only thing is they're freaking bricks if you're
old man you can only wear them half the day before your feet start hurting.
Right?
So I have a good probably seven pairs of Jordan 5s.
I had all these Yeezys, endless pair of Yeezys, but I'm not rocking those anymore.
I gave them all the way to my brother-in-law.
I said, here, have them.
But the only problem is, man, those Yeezys were so freaking comfortable, dude.
They're like walking on clouds right so I've been trying to figure out like what is my go-to shoe these days
and I still haven't found a winner now they're like menace what about Crocs Crocs I love but
it's not an everyday shoe for me what about DCs I love DCs but I love to bust them out like a retro type fit or situation, right?
So what do I do?
There's not really an Adidas out there that I love.
I love like a collaboration with this brand called Human Made that Adidas does,
but they only have like three or four collaborations.
Not enough to start collecting them.
Now, New Balance is getting kind of hot right now.
Are you guys all in or all out on New Balance? or is that too much of an old man chew for me let's start with the uh
old man in the room tyler how do you feel about new balance i mean new balances they're okay i
guess um i'm like i know some basketball players have been starting to do stuff i do know they're
more on the comfort side but i will ask as far as the jordan fives goes have you
tried putting in like a one of those dr shoals like gel inserts into the shoe yeah they end up
like shifting for me okay you know then it becomes uncomfortable i did find a pair of pumas that were
in the style that i liked a lot and i got a ton of compliments about them and they were only like 60 bucks that footlocker
but I think they stopped making the style because I can't find it anywhere anymore and I was like
oh man I was gonna go all in on Puma now they're going back to the old school style Puma which is
like super skinny and it looks weird when you wear super skinny shoes and you're a big guy like me
it's just not a good look I think i've heard the brand all birds is good
oh yeah but i've heard good things about all birds now all birds is what i use when i go do
international travel because they're just like super minimalist they don't stand out at all
because you know you don't want to wear like super nice shoes when you're overseas because
you you just stand out and just like come rob me. But you just wear all birds
and you kind of just blend in with everybody.
Those are super comfortable as well.
But I don't know because, you know,
I want a little style to a shoe.
So I don't know if anybody has any recommendations
on what I should go all in on.
Hit me up at Menace, M-E-N-A-C-E.
The big thing is I want style
and I want it to be comfortable at the same time.
With that though, it is vacation time.

Just the amount of people that did listen to
what's new pod and did come up to us that were asking, where's Randy at? Where's Eric at? And
you know, uh, me and menace would talk to everyone that would show up about the podcast a little bit
and tell, you know, where to listen to you guys and find you guys. So many people came up to me
and said, I miss Eric being a part of the show and
being around on the show. And I miss Randy
being around on the show.
And I can't wait to listen to them on What's New
Pod if they hadn't listened before. So they are stoked.
It's very good. Thank you all for
even asking and subscribing
and listening to the pod. It's awesome.
And of course, listen to the Mothership, the Woody

Eric, do you have anything to say before we leave?
Well, guys, NFL season is 69 days away.
Nice.
Heck yeah, bro.
All right, Tyler.
I'm actually really looking forward to going to this mission impossible screening.
And I am not the only one because when i told my dad about it
i haven't seen him smile like that in a long time uh me and him been i'm actually kind of
so because me and him have been watching the mission impossible movie since he first introduced
me to the first one and i think we've seen everyone within the first two weeks it's come
out since like the third one back in 2006. So I'm actually really,
really looking forward to this.
And yeah,
if you guys go,
you will beat my dad.
Nice person.
I've ever bought to any of these events as far as parents go.
So yeah,
